Not Worth the Money – My mum bought me this TV in 2019. At first, I really loved it because it was my first ever flatscreen, and I was in love with the crisp, 4K visuals. But it suddenly carked it one day, wouldn't turn on at all and had to get it repaired out of pocket. It's a very basic TV with bare minimum features — doesn't even have Bluetooth, so you can't connect your headphones Show details
Polaroid PL55UHDOS 4K UHD Smart TV - DUD!!! – Bought just under 2 years ago and initially worked fine then one day just stopped working- will not turn on at all. My mum lost the receipt and had bought it from BigW but they only keep records for 18 mths or less so couldn't help. I called the Tempo customer care line to see if they could help and it only has a 1 year warranty and we're… Read more
powerless without the receipt. Having a tv like this only work for not even 2 years is unacceptable and unfortunately it was bought by a pensioner who doesn't have a lot to spend, which is sad. Very disappointing. They should stop selling this product until the issue has been rectified as I've read other similar reviews.
Polaroid Smart TV 55inch – This tv was given to us new as a present, worked fine for twelve months then started having problems after the warranty period. Finally the red power light is on, but wont turn on. Very disappointed, just rubbish, i have tvs 20 years old that still work. Save your money, buy a known brand. Show details
panel is pretty good, the apps and OS are not good – The panel is pretty good, the apps and OS are not good at all. They freeze and restart without notice. If you've got an external streaming device - OK but don't rely on the onboard software it's poor. Show details
WORST brand of tv EVER!!! – Bought a Polaroid 55 inch android tv from Big W a little over 12 months ago for nearly $700. Was working great for a few months then the picture started to play up. After that the remote would constantly drain batteries & turn on streaming apps randomly. Then the tv started turning itself on at random times which is especially annoying late at… Read more
night, or when I would check the doggy camera when I'm at work & see that the tv was on again! These TV's should be pulled from every shelf in the country, they are nothing but trash. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Helpline bollocks. Remote crap – Remote already stuffed after only 7 weeks. Helpline is rude and unhelpful unless you put your foot down. Couldn't get through to the 'helpline' for days and then it will be 5-7 business days to get a new one. So 3 weeks unable to use tv as it has no TV buttons. No wonder its been discontinued. Polaroid is pure trash – The 32 inch smart TV from poloroid is pure crap. I bought it on sale for $99. Seemed like a good deal. Was it ever the worst TV I have EVER bought. The TV will go in Spanish (which I do not speak nor understand) at will, it will cut out the sound completely, at will, it will go into TTY mode (for blind people, which means there is a voice… Read more
describing everything going on, over the sound of whatever you are watching) at will, and it will not connect to any kind of WIFI. Literally a piece of crap. I have a protection plan on it through Walmart but as it has been less than 1 yr. since purchase, I had to deal with poloroid directly. This is where bad goes to worse. I contacted poloroid in June. When I finally got through jumping thru hoops (ie. detailed pictures of the TV front and back from different angles and distances, pictures of the model # ect. on the back, list of problems, and so much more) I paid $50 to ship it back. This was on August 1st, the TV was recieved by poloroid August 6th. Through August, September, and October communication with Poloroid was like pulling hen teeth, virtually nonexistent. When I did finally get any response I was told that where my TV was they ONLY work on Fridays due to coronavirus. After all this headache they finally give me some kind of resolution saying they are out of the 32 inch smart TV, but would like to offer me a regular 32 inch non smart TV. I refused. They then offered me a 40 inch smart TV, which I accepted. After 4 months of trouble with them they finally sent my 40 inch smart TV in November. I was blown away when I plugged and set it up. It was a bigger piece of crap, it has ALL the same problems as the first one, just bigger. Never, I mean NEVER by a TV from poloroid, they are solid trash!!!
Only lasted 16months before the screen started glitching out – Worked great but only lasted 16 months before the screen started glitching out for a $1000 i would expect it to last a lot longer than that. I would personally look elsewhere before buying this product Show details
Don’t waste your money – Online features such as YouTube and Netflix are very blurry and lagging. Freezes up all the time. Even free to air channels are quite blurry also but slightly better. There is some remote control lag but not the worst I’ve seen. Didn’t bother checking how the Xbox looked before returning it. Show details
Mine still working without any problems – People and theirs,we'll let me write mine up since I bought mine from big W gateway I haven't had any problems or issues with my tv,the only problem is that U will have to order a control that is all I have a problem with. Show details
Never again – Only comes with 12 month warranty but right before 2 years old one speaker blew up, a month later the picture stopped working though it still had sound. Left if off for a few months and it miraculously started working again but now the other speaker is busted too, the picture is not quiet right and it makes a funny sound from the back. I have… Read more
another (different brand) tv that cost about the same and is 8 years old and still working perfectly. Not worth the money for it to only last 2 years, I'll n3ver buy one again or recommend them to anyone.
TV cut out – Have purchased this tv only a week ago, and last night watching a movie, the picture just disappeared but the sound was still going, but no picture???? Rung up big w today and they refused to give me a replacement or money back because I dont have the box the tv came in but I have the reciept, no one said to keep the box just the reciept, very disappointed and angry customer Show details
Can't use sound bar – Tried to connect five sound bars to two different Polaroid 4K TVs and no sound, big w staff were great in trying to resolve this but agreed it wouldn't work on any of the sound bars, did all the necessary cec and arc settings, then tried a jvc and straight away (after settings) sound on all sound bars yet tempo (Polaroids call centre rep) kept saying try calling sound bar manufacturers to fix the issue. Absolute Lemon – As what the title says. Not even a month old and Turns off and on by itself. Freezes up on main menu and starts again. Screen has black shadows through it. Tried to get a replacement with warranty and it's difficult. Never buy one again. Save your coin. Don't bother. Show details
Polaroid TV - an unexpected find – The picture quality was great! Much better than the previous Bauhn I bought off Aldi, and Sonic I bought for a friend. It's 4k, and since there is no true 4k free to air, we tested this by watching youtube 4k trailers. The images and color were way above our expectation. Although there is a slight delay in the images focusing into true 4k, the… Read more
result is still very satisfying. The sound, however, was a bit of a disappointment. After setting it to 'surround' it picked up a bit, but still, no treble, no bass. Bought it at a promo at Big W for $799, and paid for delivery, which was late due to the courier service not being able to pick up. Overall, good value for money. It comes with a 12 month warranty. I looked at it that should it fail after 12 months, the TV would have cost me like $2+ a day! That sealed the deal for me :)
Great tv – Had it a few weeks now.cant fault it. Like a flat screens sound is a bit tinny buy better than most. Great picture. Great features. Menu was a little confusing but once used to it was ok. Ultra thin Only thing I didn't like was the box and labels so say 65 inch then when you open it the label on the tv says 64.5 inch Show details
Looks slick – It’s great great quality picture sound quality is good smart TV is a great part of it and super thin which means we can put it anywhere we want can’t fault it. Price point was exactly what we were looking for and you get a lot for your money with this Show details
Great tv love it .It is a 27.5” tv with DVD – Bought this as a bedroom tv with built in DVD .Its a great tv! .I use the USB recording every day It has 3 USB ports I have an apple box connected which I use very often ,the DVD player plays all region discs ,I rang the tech number in the manual to find out how to delete 1 item from the recorded USB ,they answered all most immediately & were… Read more

Polaroid televisions – I am very unhappy with the brand. I purchased a tv for my caravan and within 4 months the antennae connection broke off. When I returned the television to Big W for service/ replacement the company who services the televisions was in my view, very unhelpful. The worker attempted to deny my legal rights, promised to phone me and did not, then later… Read more
the company requested I deliver a (much larger!) television to a repairer two states away. The store supervisor was wonderful and after arguing with the worker regarding consumer rights, provided a replacement tv despite the company's decision. The following week the company finally agreed to provide a replacement.
Less than 3 months later I am having similar problems with the replacement tv - the antennae connection is loose & not picking up signals reliably.
Oh, and by the way, not long ago I received a text stating the company would close its file if I did not take the original tv to the repairer... Really!
Worst tv I have ever owned. Screen goes dark intermittently, sound is awful and so bad we have just – Don't buy this TV because its cheap. Its not good value,we have just gone out and replaced it after less than 6 months. We can't stand watching it because the sound is so awful. You have to have it really loud to hear voices, otherwise its too hard to hear. Worst TV we have ever owned. Called BIG W and Polaroid to no avail. Its Glitchy, its not a real smart TV and the screen does dark at random times Show details
Pay for what you get – After spending big on a Samsung and it failing after 5 years I was hesitant to spend big on a tv again. I saw the Polaroid on display in Big W and for $500 I thought what the hell. At first when I turned it on the picture was quite fuzzy and I was instantly disappointed in my purchase. After approx 20 minutes the screen became clear and has been… Read more
fine since. The sound is a little bit ‘tinny’ but I think a sound bar will help that out. If this tv lasts as long as my samsung did I’ll be a happy customer. The tv is only used for Foxtel and Netflix, no gaming.
Very Faulty – I bought this TV a few months ago for $600 at Big W, at first I loved the TV it was bright good graphics and looked nice, a few weeks after I the TV started to turn off by itself and sometimes it turned off continuously and it wasn't damaged one bit after that the remote started to go out of whack. Even though its a nice looking TV and has plenty of HDMI ports and good graphics I would DEFINITELY not recommend to purchase this item. Show details
Lucky to get 4 stars – I only awarded a fourth star because I am used to not having HD channels available to be otherwise its really a 3 star everything is ok but not great from start time when turning on to ordinary picture and sound what attracted me to make the purchase was the great price. For my own use I am really happy with the product it seems reliable and has great features like its reasonably thin has good access to ports and an easy menu to operate Show details
Budget price for a decent 4K UHD smart TV – I recently purchased the Polaroid 65" 4k UHD smart TV model:pu-6516uhd from big w for $800. The TV isn't top of the line regarding picture quality, settings options and smart TV functions, although you get what you pay for and for a 65"4k UHD TV it isn't all that bad. True HD content playing through ps4 such as Blu-ray's, YouTube and netflix… Read more
at 1080p is amazing. Some HD and SD TV channels don't look real great but all channels are different. I don't own any 4k hardware so I haven't experienced 4k as of yet. Although the TV has a 4k enhancement setting I'm not sure if it upscales the image from 1080p to 4k as the TV is saying it's receiving a 1080p signal when 4k enhancement is turned on.
Gaming on the ps4 is fairly good apart from some motion blur or slight flickering at times when playing some games which I'm trying to rectify.
The only issues with TV are a bit of motion blur, soap opera effect and limited picture settings in regular menu and the smart TV hub is a waste off space imo, there are 3 apps-YouTube, media player and a slow as web browser which I use neither as my ps4 is my main smart TV device.
In the picture menu, Noise reduction is set to on and greyed out for some reason, I've contacted tempo and they are still trying to workout why it's greyed out. But I'm able to access the service menu by pressing "menu on remote, then 1147 on keypad" which gives you access to many settings which aren't in the regular menu. I can turn of noise reduction in service menu but remains set to on and greyed out in normal menu. I'm still messing around with service menu settings and not all of my settings are saved once TV has been turned off and on again, some settings just revert back to default and it's a pain to have to go into service menu each time I power on TV and adjust the settings to my liking.
I mainly adjust the following, but this has to be done each time I switch sources and turn TV on after being switched off.
Noise reduction - off
VIP - off
Peaking - off
Dlc - off
Gamma - off
Overscan values to 0
Back light around 50-60, at default it's 100
And I set contrast, colour, sharpness, brightness, tint and colour temps in service menu rather than regular menu as the values remain isn't in the main menu either. There are also setting in service menu for saturation and hue which I haven't played with yet.
I'm yet to play with rgb settings and others that I'm not familiar with just yet. I'm still researching a lot of service menu settings on goggle before I adjust them and there is a heap so I like to know what settings I'm changing and for what reasons.
If anyone else ones this model TV or other Polaroid models with same firmware etc, please share your opinions and knowledge.
