I really wanted to LOVE this machine - my 10 points of discontent – I had a cheap supermarket Steam cleaner which worked well. When it died I saved up to buy this machine. I was going to buy one of the SV6/8 but they were out of my affordability. My issues (1) This machine is heavy - I have to lug it up/down 4 to 6 steps in my multi-level house (2) It keeps stopping and needing to reset (even though not blocked… Read more
and following directions). (4) Leaves smudge marks on the tiles (have large tile areas) and takes longer to dry than the cheap machine (5) Cleaning grouting takes forever (as I said I have large tiled areas) (6) would have preferred a model where you don't need to hold the steam button to generate steam - I get thumb/wrist pain (7) water leaks out of the tank even when not filled to maximum (8) The indicator light doesn't work properly - no local dealer to service. (9) can't just get it out and vacuum a small mess - major exercise to fill with water, put in filter, then clean afterwards - so still need my dagging old vacuum for quick jobs (10) design of water tank does not enable efficient emptying and cleaning. And the pièce de résistance........ In my new house it trips the power so now can't use at all.
Wouldn't buy one again – After reading so many good reviews about the quality of this steam cleaner, I was convinced this was the way to go. Sadly, my expectations have not been met both by the supplier Steam Australia and the product. 18months old and I'm already having to send away for repairs to fix a problem with the steam continuously coming out. Because it is 6… Read more
months out of warranty, Steam Australia can't help me either. They did offer to have a look at it but I would need to post it all the way to Sydney (from QLD) at my expense. Another thing I found was that the pipe attaching to the machine doesn't really feel like it clips in properly. It always feels a bit loose.
I also purchased the Polti iron attachment, and the cord on this frayed after 6 months. I emailed Steam Australia, and I received no response back. For a company who prides themselves on customer service, they really could have done a lot more to ensure I was a happy customer.
horrendous – started great, then cheap wheels and fittings, leaking tank, not to mention the weight, having to spend longer cleaning and drying it than in use. choose the rent to buy. if you're not happy, you can send it back. if you pay up front, like me, you may be ready to throw a broken machine in the bin in 2-3 yrs.
another all in one eurpean power machine but for cleaning not cooking – I bought the polti program which is essentially the same as this model without the turbo vacuum and a has a safety cap. For me I preferred the safety cap feature rather than continuous refill as one it gives you a break and and second we have young curious kids who are into everything so this safety cap was important to stop them. Anyway its an… Read more
amazing machine and I love it. We are in the process of moving house and preparing for an auction so cleaning the house madly and this has really helped make that a whole lot easier.
I bought as its chemical free cleaning and we have allergy/ asd issues in our family so trying to avoid chemicals but for this house move we have broken that rule and used in conjunction with the normal cleaning gear like Jiff its simply incredible. We are getting near new looking bathroom tiles etc in an aging home. Its been amazing on cleaning grout and glass and all of those tricky built up areas. New place will be back to chemical free. The steam cleaner leaves things sparkling anyway like shiny tiles, glass and stainless steel if there is limited build up. Great as a floor mop.
Its saves a lot of time - great on couches and carpet and with toilet training kids or kids that drink, eat food, paint, draw etc.
great at getting walls clean too - gently steam mop and vac at same time and they come up well. Spot stains and taking off wall decals easily and without damage.
Its very powerful though so can take layers of things you might not want removed.
it takes time to learn all the functions and capabilities of this machine or you can just put a program in and go with that preset function. Lots of attachments.
The thermie of cleaning if i can use the name. it saves time and its spectacular chemical free cleaning it wont steam clean all carpet problems without extra chemical help like needing disolve it for a paint spill for example
Excellent Steam Cleaner – We found the Polti Turbo & Allergy steam cleaner to be the best product we have bought. It is simple to operate and worth the investment. The steam and suction are excellent. The ability to steam and vacuum in conjunction with easy maintenance make this steam cleaner a must for all those who enjoy a clean and pleasant home environment! Reliable and does the job we expected.
I just love it – It really is perfect and I would hate to be without it. I find it a bit heavy to handle. I now know that the other cleaners I have used were inefficient and just a waste of time and money. The water filter is amazing, could't believe the colour of the water. YUK! W Wouldn't be without it! . Just a bit heavy
Love this cleaner for home – This is a great quality steam cleaner. Not like the rubbish you see on tv ads. The steam pressure is great. It has so many uses in the home and is great for reducing dust mite allergy and asthma with the built in water filtration HEPA filter. I clean my tiles, bathroom, windows, oven, hotplates and uhpholstery with this machine and it just keeps… Read more
