The product is difficult to use – The latest (2022) product is not a patch on what used to be called "Preen". The spray trigger mechanism jams up and makes it difficult for the sprayed product to emerge. Whatever the manufacturers have done, it is not what it used to be. Searching for the nearest blunt object, I grabbed a spray bottle of Vanish and proceeded to bludgeon the unfortunate creature to death. Not sure if this is the correct definition of irony, but it was certainly effective in making the spider Vanish. effectively murdered spider. The moulded shape of the bottom of the bottle reduced the surface area which resulted on only part of the spider being hit on the first blow. A flat surface would be more efficient and probably more humane.

brand that has been around a long time and is well trusted and effective - I find that it quite cost effective as well and the refill option is great as it is less expensive. I particularly like the Oxyaction Max over the other preen products. Reliable and well known brand.

Excellent – I will always use this product it provides clean results all the time with no fuss. it cleans the stains from my husbands work clothes and general other stains very well. I use this regularly with omo for a brillant stain free wash. It removes stains first time everytime with no fuss or effort. expensive for such a small amount and i don't like the smell it spreads through the washing requireing a extra rinse.

Trigger pack useless – I cannot get stains out with this product using the trigger pack. The previous spray tin was terrific and lifted stains so easily. So disappointing! I will have to look for a new brand to use. Show details

Absolute rubbish – Have been using the original preen everyday and it never disappoints . The new trigger version is absolutely rubbish and does not remove any stains . Will not buy again. Please go back to the original Preen Show details

Rubbish – Have used the vanish preen and it’s utter rubbish. I sprayed and washed a grease stain on some linen pants 3 times and still has not lifted the stain. The old preen was great this one is useless. Don’t waste your money.  Show details

Vanish to the bin – I used vanish on my new clothes and it vanished the colour right out of my clothes. i have tee shirts with blotchy discolouration. Its a bad product with false claims. They should be held accountable. Shame shame shame. Show details

How the **** does this product leave clothes more discoloured after using than beforehand? – Sprayed two white clothing items and left overnight. Come to find the clothing with big yellowy beige stains where the Vanish spray was sprayed on. So I sprayed with more spray because I thought the spray only diluted the stain and spread it further. permanently!! Honestly so annoyed. How does a stain remover leave the product more stained than it was before?! They were not even big stains to start off with, just a couple dots of food splatter, and a half cm blood stain. But now the clothing look worse than they did before using Preen Vanish Stain Remover. Can't repurchase those clothing items destroyed by this product as they are no longer being sold in the store. Would give 0 stars if possible. Never again!!

out with the same stains as they went in. Now looking for an alternative stain remover unless Preen magically revert back to the older style product which actually worked.

Disappointing new product – I have used Preen very successfully for years and found it to be the only product that removes oil stains. Since the change to this awful foaming trigger it just doesn’t seem to be any good anymore and doesn’t remove oil stains like it did. Has the product been changed as well as the trigger? Ineffective Trigger – Since the trigger change this product has become an expense waste product. The new trigger fails to work consistently and majority of the product ends up foaming around the nozzle, running over your fingers/hand and drips on the floor. Only works if you hold the bottle in the exact right position with your head tilted and your tongues twisted! NEW WHITE TOP RUINED!!! – I tried to remove a very small dirt mark on a brand new white top...I sprayed it with Vanish and rinsed the top with cold white water. After drying it outside, my top has yellow discolouration from using the spray which I have been trying to remove for the past two days with absolutely no success. Do not use this product!!

Damaged linen – This product bleached a coloured piece of linen but I thought it would be ok to use on white linen but it left yellow stains. No help ( 5 attempts) contacting the 1800 helpline! This product should be taken off the market. I will be contacting Consumer Affairs. Show details

Terrible result – I’ve ruined two cotton bedspreads with this product, despite following the instructions, i.e, I sprayed them and washed them straight away. Instead of removing the stains it created a worse one. Show details

Damaged linen – I've had many linen items ruined by irregular bleaching from the spray which comes out very foamy and causes a lot of faded patches. I'll be changing product after many years.

Difficult to get good coverage – I have always been a fan of the "original" preen original even as the price crept up because it was so reliable in getting out almost every stain and easy to spray. waste of time and money. Not every garment has spot stains, most have overall grime and need a good spray. Please give me something with better spray coverage that really works.

White spots on areas treated - Damages your clothes – As stated, this product left my clothes damaged with white blotches on lightly colored cotton. I also used it on my LV shirt, same thing. It bleaches your clothes "mildly"! No different to using direct bleach! Never again And will never trust Reckit and benkisser products. The same goes with Vanish oxi gold. Ruined hundreds of dollars worth of clotheS!

Consistently terrible, trigger is useless too – I used it to spray minor marks on some very expensive Sheridan doona covers. It left worse marks than it removed; now there are yellow stains everywhere. I've tried several times as I didn't believe it could be the stain remover causing the stains. Same result.

This product will destroy your clothes – I used this product on a load of my children's clothes and it has taken the colour our of the garments, leaving big white rings all over the clothes, and NOT taking out the stains I was trying to treat. It has ruined my son's pyjamas and his best (expensive) t-shirt, and I have had to throw out 2 of my daughter's t-shirts. I have always trusted Preen but I will never use it again!

Rubbish! – I only bought product as it was on special for $3.80ish (usually around $4.70ish) Treated small blood spot on white bed linen with Vanish prior to wash cycle but the stain remained and had to be re-treated. Home brand much better especially as it works first time and only around $1.70

Ruined my white towel – I used this product to remove a blood stain from a towel. It was only a small blood stain caused by a shaving cut. The product removed the blood stain but created a large light blue stain which I have been unable to remove even with bleach. It was a gorgeous white Sheridan towel which was part of a set that is no longer on the market. Not happy.

Took colour out of Tshirt despite being specific for colours! – Absolutely shocking and avoid! Took the colour out of tshirt and totally spoilt it!! Has to be full of bleach to do this! Why do vanish not take any responsibility?!

Terrible – I used this product on a very small (and I repeat very very small) area of the sleeve of a robe and when I washed the robe there is now 3 yellow stains - not even close to where I initially sprayed. possible to show just how bad the discolouration is! The liquid is just too strong now as I have seen reviews stating - "great for washing the shower." Something that is good for the shower is way too strong for clothes. The reviews a few years back proves the product used to be good, however now it is no longer locally made - it is a product that should be taken off the shelves.

Useless trigger spray – I usually use a different brand of pre wash in a trigger spray, but as the store was out of stock I tried this one - totally useless as a spray! Reckitt Benckiser and all they could offer was "I'll pass on your concerns"". Very disappointed with the product and the company and will stick with my usual brand (Sard) in future!

Made in CHINA – I used to like this product, it helped my white shirt's collar and because it was made in Australia. I felt reassuring to use the product but It is no longer made in Australia. Now it made in CHINA and I think the quality is slightly diminishing compare to the one made in Australia though. A shame! I will have to look for other brands that is local made.

Excellent – I love this product - I have used them all and this is by far the best. This gets the stain out first time, unless it's a stain that's been sitting for a while, in which case it may need a second treatment, but I've yet to have a stain that hasn't come out using this. Excellent – I have used this stain remover on everything from red pasta sauce to grease and the stains always come out. It is by far thh best compared to other top brands. on clothes. I got in a routine of checking and spraying kids clothes before I put them into the wash. Fantastic product. It really does work. Not too strong smelling. Good strong bottle. I have never had any trouble with the trigger nozzle. Can't think of any.

Excellent – I really do think this is the best stain remover on the market and I switch from this to Sard - depending on what's on special. Preen is definately the better product, however the smaller container (375 vs 500ml) and higher price make is not so good value for money and I seem to go through a lot of this spray. trust that it will get your stains out. Can be really expensive and it's made in a smaller quantity than the Sard spray. Preen also has a stronger smell than the Sard spray but it's not offensive at all.
