The dealer quoted me $11000 to install cruise control on my 2nd hand van (and I'm not a fan of dealers letting them touch my car). So, went with this product. I'm very happy with it. The install instructions could be a little bit better (a big photo with arrows showing location of connector, and the little photo of the connectors), and I got caught out with the double sided stalk (a trap for young players). But other than that, extremely happy. This product is very easy to use and does the job of holding speed very well. Well worth the money. Thanks Denis.
Purchased in for $815.
Overpriced rubbish – For comparison, I paid $700 for a specific cruise control unit for my cruiser, plug and play, the control stalk had up and down and forwards and buttons on it. Works exactly how you would expect your cruise control to work. This cost $650, and the stalk is rigid, it has 3 switches on it. It feels cheap. The worst thing about this kit though is the speed range. If you get the settings right you have a range of 50kmh to 110kmh. The instructions give you a number of different setting choices. In my case I could not get that range, my best was 65 to 120. or 40 to 100. I had to email them so they could give me a setting in between (that wasn't on the sheet). Even with that range of 50 to 110, what the hell is that? Why such a narrow bandwidth? What about those long 40kmh roadwork zones? 130kmh stuart highway? So dumb, I don't understand. If it didn't cost so much I wouldn't care so much because it's what I would expect for 2 to 300 bucks. This is absolute bogus for $650.
For another comparison, years ago I bought a vacuum controlled universal cruise kit. It cost somewhere between $200-$300. That was the kind of quality I was expecting from this $650 kit. It does not meet that quality. The vacuum unit was 200 percent better. To summarise, it does the job I need it to (only just). Money absolutely not well spent though.
The speed range is the biggest problem. If it weren't for that I wouldn't have even bothered trying to warn other people of it. Having such a small range doesn't make any sense it all. It's really troublesome setting it at 50kmh because the cruise control unit doesn't kick in until it feels the speed drop, so you have to kind of hover the throttle there and hope it takes over before it drops below 50 or it just cuts out and you have to try again. The alternative is to set the min speed below 50 so that isn't a problem. But then you can't set it at 110kmh. Perhaps fix that up guys on your next model champs. While I complain, it is still 100 percent better than nothing, I'd say thanks but the fortune I spent on it I think is thanks enough.
If it makes you feel any better, if you check market pricing you will find other companies are selling their cable cruise kits for around $750 to $800+ at the moment. All the best.
I want to clarify the product in this review as its been causing confusion: this customer review is specifically for an old-style cable kit, typically used in older cable throttle vehicle models. Please don’t confuse this product with our range of e-cruise cruise control kits designed for modern drive-by-wire vehicles. The e-cruise kits are electronic, require no calibration and come preprogrammed with a speed range starting at 40 km/h and above.

Hi Matt, Regarding your feedback of our cable throttle kit, please allow us to address the concerns you've raised:
Price Comparisons: Your price comparison is unreasonable because it's based on something you bought 'years ago'. You would find that our cable kit was similarly priced "years ago," but like most products, has seen price increases over time. When compared to competing products, our prices have always been competitive, especially when considering our products are backed with double or even triple the warranty period and we also offer tech support. We believe, we offer much better value for money.
Component Quality: Regarding the switch you mentioned feels cheap, this component has been in our product range for over 11 years, with only one warranty claim in that time, which was promptly addressed. This track record suggests it is a very reliable product.
Performance: The speed range for our cable throttle kit is (70km) which can be set at 50-110km. This speed range should suit most driving conditions. If you're experiencing issues with this range, it would be due to your installation settings. Please contact us if you need assistance to adjust them correctly.
