Proton Jumbuck Questions & Answers
I have 2 jumbucks a 2003 and a 2008, both of them make the identical squeaking noise when applying the brakes coming to a slow stop. I have checked the pads on the front and the linings on the rear and dont see why that is happening. It does sound like it is coming from the rear

Hi Proton People, I’m after a new battery for my recently acquired Jumbuck And I purchased a Century 55d23r as per there recommendation. However, In my opinion it’s to high and I’m sure it’s hitting the bonnet . Am I missing Something ? . The battery that came out of it is an RACV 2176 which is lower . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi everyone, I currently own a 2003 proton jumbuck and am wondering how I can fix the stereo unit. It appears to have the options DX or F1, F2, F3. I just want to know how I can get FM radio stations back. It was working fine up until the settings were messed with by my cousin. Not sure how to get it back. If someone could explain that would be great. Thanks, Zander

Hi my 03 Jumbuck has ongoing issues. Mechanic has given up. Original problem was it wouldn't fire. Injectors were sent away to be cleaned/checked. Problem was kind of fixed. But I can't let it sit more than a day without starting or its like its flooded. Now its at the point its unreliable. Remote location so mechanic options are limited. Ideas appreciated.
Can someone please tell me what the factory fuel injector cc's is? I'm going to upgrade the injectors and slightly retard the timing to give it more power. already done the headers, high flow cat and exhaust.

the alternator in my Proton Jumbuck seem to be working a treat, but it does not put any charge back into the battery or anything else plugged into any electrical outlet. ie: portable GPS. any ideas?
Harold, have you checked that the battery is actually taking the charge? It may be the fault.
second battery and same thing happens. start vehicle and disconnect battery and everything operates. thought it might be a loose connection or some other charging fault. charge no reaching battery or portable GPS.
go to battery world. they will check if your alternator is charging your battery. if it is. it's just the 12v cigarette lighter/ phone/gps charger fuse

the fuel gauge level sensor on the fuel pump is faulty. common problem with the jumbuck. mine does the same. I just reset the km clock on the dash every time I fill up. Then run it for bout 450-480km's depending on how hard you drive it. hwy/city, hills drive ect. till I fill the fuel tank full up again.
I’m interested in buying a 2010 jumbuck with 68,000 klms full service history, & factory fitted canopy, it’s the GLI . being sold from a car yard the asking price is $1199, I’m thinking it’s a bit over priced considering they were $15,000 new & it’s now 12yr old yes it has low klms but I don’t no much about these little utes, is there anything I need to no or ask the dealer

Has any one done a suspension lift on a 2004 jumbuck
No no no. you should be lowering it mate. you got it backwards! your working backwards again mate. lol. eazy way to get a 2 inch lift is to get 16inch wheels and 205/50/16 tyres fitted on the rear and 205/55/16 tyres fitted on the front to level her out abit as the rear suspension height is factory way to bloody high.
45 tyre profile or less sucks. will make it a rough ride. also lower the rear tyres psi to 32-35psi max as the leaf springs make it ride rough.
