Pretty disappointed actually – For an “industrial machine” it isn’t very durable. The hose connection to the base doesn’t stay screwed in and it doesn’t reach spots needing as an industrial machine should. It also releases far too much air making the suction nowhere near as good as expected. Show details

It never dies no matter what I hit it with – Great Italian design! I clean up plaster board dust, Masonite dust (don’t breath it in) and sucked up buckets of water from wet carpets. There is a Chinese made and Italian made versions with different prices. Bought the Chinese one which seems to work well and hasn’t died. The filter handles the plaster dust really well which is generally what killed other vacuums. I’d buy another any day Show details · 4
Not fit for my purpose – This might be a bit harsh, but I haven't been very happy with my Pullman Janitor. The filter is big bucket shaped and straight walled (not pleated) I don't know if this is why, but ever since I first bought it, the filter would clog very quickly, causing the motor to go into bypass mode. I have used the vac for sawdust, general dust and cement dust. I don't know, maybe I am doing something wrong? Show details
The first one was a sacrificial lamb – Bought the first Pullman in 2010 - exactly the same - as a sacrificial vacuum cleaner for getting rid of cement dust. Industrial quantities of cement dust from demolished slate floors. It was $199 then and when new it would suck the glaze off the tiles. I seriously thought the cement dust would kill it but seven years on it's just flagging, No… Read more
longer the suction power of the wrong end of a wind tunnel. The cord insulation is going brittle, the plastic bits are held together with a smorgasbord of tapes and the old motor is destined for another purpose. Pity about the disposable, un-recyclable bits.
So I bought a new one - it was $20 cheaper than the old one. Again the same thing - great suction power for hard edged jobs.
The down side? The build is Chinese cheapo - utterly awful. All bristly plastic and cranky seams. Hose fittings and castors that are so shonky they don't even pretend to be anything but quality junk.
It will do me for another seven years and much as I hate the throw-away nature of this consummately clunky, shamelessly shoddy product, it works.
