Very good so far, impressive for the priceExcellent cordless vacuum, priced very well if you already own batteries. We use for the car and at home for various things. Great for Renovations!
Can be used as extraction with sanders, circular saw etc; although the stepped extraction attachment seems very very loose when used; Not sure if this is an unresolved issue or otherwise as it would be a perfect product. Show details
Awesome vacuum for all cituationBought this vacuum along with some other Ryobi 18V stuffs to enjoy the benefits of cordless power and sharing batteries. Dry vacuum power is strong and the wet feature is what we were looking for and not disappointed, I have also bought an aftermarket extractor attachment and convert this vacuum as carpet extractor! Standard 5.0Ah battery is enough for 1 big job or swapping for another 18v battery if don't want to wait. Recharge time is quite impressive and great indicators to let you know the status of the batteries. Show details
A great little sucker with no cords attachedI saw this on a Mighty Car Mods YouTube Video and went down to Bunnings the next morning to buy one. I purchased the unit plus a Charger and 5.0 Amp/Hr battery kit all for less than $300. This is my first Ryobi Cordless product. I've been looking for a cordless vacuum for ages - the stick ones just don't suck hard enough and there's a few at around $1000 that look OK but thats way too expensive for me. I'm super happy with this purchase. It's light and extremely easy to move around. Best of all, it's a powerful little sucker.
Success By SuctionRyobi wet & dry vacuum, I brought this thinking that it would just do the job and that’s it, however I was extremely surprised the suction is unreal, and great value Show reply

Is a carpet tool available for the R18WDV?
Unfortunately Graeme no, this vacuum is not designed for carpet cleaning, if you do wish to use it as a wet area there is a procedure you have to follow, I think from memory you are to remove the internal bag.
Thank you for this advice. I thought as much.
Is this useful for a car that always gets a lot of sand inside it.
It’s not as powerful as one of those massive vacuums at the car wash but it’s much better than those little handheld suckers. I use it to remove dust and sand from my car and I have no complaints
I basically purchased one of these for a similar reason and I’m very happy with the machine it’s got great vacuum power, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.
How do you use the vac as a wet vac. Do I change the filter and remove the bag?
Yep, you’ve got it. Say, for example, you’ve used water and shampoo to clean a carpet, or, you just want to vacuum up a coolant spill, just remove the bag and the filter and go for it - as I recall th... Read moreere is alternate cover for where the filter goes but I have lost this and don’t use it - works fine anyway
Yes exactly as Psy-Chic explained, and yes there is a cover when you remove the filter.
