Internal rechargeable battery failed - no replacement – I bought a QardioBase 2 three years ago. It was supposed to be the best on the market. Unfortunately this did not come through in batteries. The internal rechargeable battery failed and it was not possible to replace it. What a rip off!

Purchased in for $200.

Unfortunately just a simple Scale, not worthy the $200+ – I got a QardioBase2 smart scale after Xmas. Unfortunately I'm really disappointed with the product. After reviewing and searching several pages on the internet, it seemed it was the best product you could buy. The design is great and the functionality (at least on paper) seemed the most advance one. Check-out, payment and delivery went smooth, so I was really happy to get the product. Then the problems started when trying to use it. My purpose of getting an advanced smart scale was to be able to track all the other body measures not only weight. This is the way the QardioBase2 in theory is different from all the other ones, it has a nice phone app, etc.

So the setup is a bit clunky, I tried several times to connect it to my home Wifi. It was successful but it took at least 3 times. Then the real problem was how inaccurate the device was, specially on the body fat %. One day will measure 1%, other 21% other 15%. The funny part will be that the device will give you that measure on the same day which is totally useless.

Support was great, they ask you to do a factory reset basically. I really wanted this device to work, so I followed step by step their advice. It is boring because you want a new advance device that just work. You don't want to be troubleshooting stuff from day 1. My wife gave up on the device way before me. I keep trying to "fix"it with help from their support desk. I installed the latest and greatest firmware, re-installed the mobile app, reset the scale connection many, many times!

In the end after using (or trying to use) the device for few weeks, I gave up. Support happily cooperated and processed the return and issue a full refund. So as a company I believe they are good. But as a product my view is that they tried to create a high end tech device and failed. Is not simple to use, is not accurate, it does not provide any better value than a standard off the shelf scale you can buy at the supermarket for $20. I'm disappointed because I really would like to use more advanced devices so I could make better fitness decisions.

Hope this review, help people out there!
