Good signal and customer service, okay on capturing target – I ended up returning the camera but here’s a factual review. I tried four cameras to catch my crazy neighbour, this one had the best wifi signal of them all. My unit is on the first floor and the car is on the ground floor in a shared garage, about 7m parallel to the unit. It was a struggle to find a suitable camera with signal. The service I… Read more

received was great. Reolink’s process is very good, I told them I wanted to return the camera and through eBay they have an automatic acceptance of the return. The deadline was in 2 weeks time and they messaged me for more information. I told them the issues are that the camera will give me many notifications for the area I blacked out, doesn’t capture the crazy neighbour every time in front of the camera, the battery life is too short and the wifi drops out with solar flares.

Reolink gave me some guidance on what to do however the particular rep wasn’t reading my messages and even though they asked for a video through WeTransfer, they didn’t download it and gave advice without doing so. If the worker reviewed what I was saying perhaps it would have worked out. I liked it very much that their process is to try and help.

The postage was instant. I received it the next day. If you’re feeling nervous about a crazy neighbour then this is a great quick fix.

Unfortunately the drop outs coincided with days where the solar flares peaked and it made me nervous. All the false alarms also made me nervous. The camera came in second with the four that I tried, to a Eufy. The Eufy has less signal but enough to send the videos and stay functional, the camera view angle is a lot wider and higher resolution. The best part is that the moments it captured are incredibly accurate! No false alarms, just people in the space where I want it to capture. For a few days there I thought the crazy neighbour gave up… No, I think the Reolink just wasn’t capturing it. She’s still at it.

Not happy – Here my experience with it. Second day of owning it, i have only discovered now that you cannot record 24hr 7days, it will only record events. It's very slow to activate and detect something, for example if something or somebody approach quick ( i din t' say running ) and open the gate to access the property, the camera wil only record the gate now… Read more

open. As soon as it start record, it start by recording a bright white flash and slowly focus the image. (see picture attached) It does not record prior to the event so once again, it wake up and start recording only after it detect something, so for example, a car show up from behind the camera or from the side and go away in 5 seconds, the camera will record everything what happened after like 4 or 5 seconds of the triggering event.. basically you open the app and check the recording and you will not see anything. IMHO it's useless, i may understand the fact that the producer do not allow record 24hr 7days to save the battery from running low too quickly but at the end of the day i have buyed the camera, it's my decision if i wanted to keep le power cord connected all the time or a solar panel or a power bank connected to it. They should put a warning that says... "if you turn on the camera for continuous recording the battery will run low very quickly" but not completly remove the possibility. That's simply not good enought They said the video quality is 3k , yes in your dreams, the reality is very different, you will struggle to identify a logo from a meter away. Alarm siren it's very quiet, my ringtone of my phone is louder than that.

The good things: The pir sensor have a good detection range and the smart detect work well and identify person and vehicle. The antenna also is good and work well. The pin in the time bar is precise and easy to pinpoint the event.

I reccomend to fit the camera in an area where usually people don't have access or where the camera can see you from far away and have the time to load up and start recording. I personally had to disable the smart detection and leave only the pir sensor to detect people and vehicle otherwise my telephone will ring no stop with a milion notification from cars passing by and people walking on the footstep.

Picture picilated warranty claim from resseleller not good – I bought this camera on a ebay reseller the store is a1_electric_toys. Who appears to have 100 % positive feedback . 5 months after purchase the picture on the camera became distorted and pixilated. I contacted Reolink as I registered the camera on their app therefore i was expecting that they will cover the warranty, however after doing their… Read more

assessments of the issue I was told that the camera is faulty but warranty need to be brought up to the ebay supplier as they don’t recognize the ebay store as authorized store. I have contacted the ebay store a1_electric_toys and after asking few questions and giving them Remote access to the camera, with pretty obvious distorted pixilated unrecognizable pictures. I have been told to send the camera and ensuring that the post used to send the camera will be with signature on receipt, well packaged and they will assess and they will see if its a warranty claim and they will let me know. The communication was back and forth and after wasting so much time and the cost to send the item back to them without a guarantee of replacement is not worth it. It feels like they are making it really complicated and hard to do a warranty claim.Lesson learned, DO NOT BUY Reolink CCTV CAMERAS FROM EBAY specially on this Ebay store a1_electric_toys . Go directly buy from Reolink website, it is a bit (just a bit) more expensive however you have a more streamlined and responsive after market support if you need to.

Well made and clear image in daylight but the software is a letdown – I purchased an Argus Eco battery powered camera and the accessory solar panel which came in a well packaged set. The hardware seems to be well made and robust. However the set up with the recommended app was not easy to navigate and problems with the connection to my wifi system took several emails to the support team to sort out. The screen… Read more

images on my PC are very clear but there seems to be no means of replaying any movement picked up by the camera and I have not been able to work out how to receive warnings of movement detected. Then recently although I was able to connect my mobile phone to the camera, the images have been lost on the PC connection. So far I have been unable to resolve this issue.

A recent upgrade to the app came with no instructions or info on its suitability for my system i.e. if it was for mobile phone use only or PC or both.

The support people are attentive and try their best but I could not recommend this camera for other than 'deterrent' value.

Terrible Motion Sensing and Recording – I bought this looking for a way to fit a camera without having to run cables etc and in theory, this seems a brilliant option. Mounting is easy.. setting up and activating is easy. Live viewing is good.. but of course, this uses battery. The reason I bought it is to monitor people entering the gate and walking towards the front door or perhaps… Read more

entering my driveway. The PIR sensor is quite sporadic in how well it works. During the day, the sensor picks up all sorts of movement.. there are settings in the application to activate in order to reduce false triggers due to items waving in view.. People walking past sometimes trigger the sensor to record a short clip. But here is the problem.. the recording seems to happen LONG AFTER the objects have moved out of view.. there is a serious delay between the movement happening, and when the recording starts. It is really terrible. Sometimes, I was able to walk all the way to my front door, without it triggering at all.

Increasing or decreasing the sensitivity seems to be a hit or miss fix. The results are not consistent enough to be able to tell how effective it is.

At night time.. the motion sensor is useless. I can stand there and wave my arms and it will not activate or start recording. And other times, it will work.

Using my mobile, I find I am able to access the videos in the Cloud, but it only lets me watch maybe 5 seconds? Even if I change the record time for clips to 15 or 30 seconds, I am not able to watch any more than 4 or 5 seconds. On the mobile app, I am not able to download clips and nor am I able to access videos stored to the SD card.

Using the desktop app on my macbook, I can access the SC card and download the videos, but the quality is terrible. And even though I have selected highest resolution of 1080p, the downloaded videos would be near useless for identification of faces etc.

It is possible that I have done a shocking job of using the camera and setting it up, but seriously, how hard can it really be?
