Sometimes companies absolutely do the right thing – I have used Repare to install 5 air-conditioners of which 2 of those have failed and had to be repaired. Both had issues with the piping being used during the install process and both were covered under warranty and by warranty I mean their own personal guarantee rather than the manufacturers warranty. by the same company, i did express some concern and rather than 1. Saying it was something fictitious like Geckos and thus not covered under warranty or 2. Provide no reasonable explanation.

Xavier, my installer chose to be upfront with the issue and tell me that a supplier had provided them with inferior copper piping and as such a number of installations had to be re-done. Now, it should be highlighted that, as it was piping, this would not be covered under a manufacturers warranty and in fact as far as I know would be solely covered, at substantial cost by the company.

So as a huge thank you to Xavier for not treating me like an idiot and to Repare for doing the right thing at what I think would be substantial cost. And to the supplier who wiped their hands of the problem, shame on you (I would use something a little more terse normally).
