company for a second quote, who quoted around $6k to bring everything up to regulation, but this second guy also looked in the switchboard and flicked the fuse thing up and said, 'Now you've your power back'! So not too happy about the first serviceman from SDT also having looked in the switchboard and not telling us that. Obviously, we're rank amateurs to not know anything about fuses but still, that would have been an honest thing to do. Silly us thought we needed to pay a lot to get our power back. At least we got our $900 back when we didn't proceed with the work so what they did I guess was all legal but they don't rank high on the beginner-friendly scale.
I’d like to thank Johnathon and Ben who managed to sort a tap problem in my bathroom. The house is about 130 years old and the taps used align with the historic significance of the home. Johnathon went above and beyond to sort the problem and I’m extremely grateful for his help. Karen Show reply

several requests,and their eventual responses are never signed by an individual.These costs include labour charges(which legally they are obliged to supply along with other requested costings) coming up with a bottom line figure about twice the “going rate”. A large portion(about half)of their charges include so called “Operational Costs” which includes things such as staff training,advertising and marketing,office support,vehicle and equipment maintenance,travel to jobs,insurance and computers and software etc. Their $0 call out fee is very quickly absorbed into operational costs,and their advertised seniors discount was reluctantly given only on my insistence and not offered by them. Their finishing of my plumbing job which I was told was “urgent “ to avoid a “major whole house plumbing catastrophe” was very poor,requiring no less than 4 follow up visits to rectify a problem which,if done properly in the first place would not have needed any further attention, with Same Day Trades proudly saying “we have met our warranty obligations “. My lawn and garden was left covered with gouged out areas,clay everywhere covering SA Water meter and my watering system. Please,before committing to any work with Same Day Trades get a 2nd quote(which will certainly be cheaper),ask for a very detailed breakdown of all costs and what you are being charged for,and ideally avoid them all together. They are a grossly overcharging company who refuse point blank to justify any costs and I would never use them again,primarily because of their overcharging

up. The leak was under the half court tennis court, so that was a lot of concrete. I was asked to pay $1k more as it was a bigger job and so I did. Took them 3 days and I cannot say a bad word for [Name Removed] and the young tradies who worked at our place. However on day 1 my husband was asked to accept a new quote that was $4k higher as they had to replace the pipe from the meter to the house as apparently it wasn’t the correct pipe and should never have been used underground? We were now looking at just over $12k for the job. Day 2, we were asked for another $2k as this was an instalment payment. We had not been informed that instalment payments were part of the process, thinking that the deposit was all that was required until the work was completed. A channel was cut across the court and the pipe replaced and the channel backfilled. We got a call saying the work was finished and payment needed. My husband queried that as the concrete had not been replaced. [Name Removed] called [Name Removed] to confirm concrete installation and [Name Removed] called my husband telling him the job was complete, it did not include re concreting. Needless to say, we were not happy. I especially was not happy when [Name Removed] told him if the job was not paid for, the works may have to be dug up and removed. Overall, I was not happy with the standover technique, lack of transparency, invoices with no detail of work done, continual increase of price and dishonest representation of what the job entailed. So now we need to complete the job ourselves. That will be fun at our age!

electrician set all his gear up then pressured the upsell otherwise he would pack his gear up and leave. This is gauging at its finest. Do not use these people as I am getting nightmares to this day $3200 to wire in 6 X LED's that I supplied WTH!? Don't believe the other reviews, if you want to see my invoice please reach out PS- I will continually edit this review so that it stays at the top Ps- Why are all the other reviews just talking about customer service. Pretty disappointed with Same Day Trades Plumbing to be honest. it last Friday (1 May). Now less than a week later, the same spot is leaking again.
We only noticed after getting home from work and hearing water running flat out with the water meter spinning non-stop.
Tried following it up and apparently no one’s available until next Wednesday. They also said they tried calling me and left a voicemail, but there was no voicemail at all — just a missed No Caller ID call.
Meanwhile we’ve had to turn the main water valve on and off every day before work, before bed, etc. just to stop the leak. (Tried to save it with everything we had even with the duct tape but it required a professional tool and professional plumber)
For a repair job that supposedly cost around $2k, I honestly expected a lot better service and a bit more responsibility when the repair failed almost straight away.
Definitely not recommended. And we don’t know what to do next…
Do not use this company, they charged my 86 year old nan for plumbing $814dol and did nothing worker Matt stating they would charge her 20,000 dol to fix the plumbing sa water came out fixed it for free. No ABN on Quote also stated No Call Out Fee Charged her
Had a tap that would not turn off and was very worn. Same Day Trades sent a crew straight out and quickly resolved the issue, installing a brand new mixer in my kitchen sink. Work was fast and professional and I remained informed for the duration, making the whole ordeal stress free. Very happy with my new tap. Show reply

Plumber arrived at the ollotted time. Determined I had a hot water pipe leak (not water heater as I thought). I helped locate the leak. He gave me a quote for "worst case scenario" - demolish a couple metres of concrete path, dig to 1m, replace/repair pipe. of concrete cut out, he repaired the 13mm pipe (half meter of pipe and two compression fittings) and then would not reprice on best case (which it was). I was charged $2078 i.e. just over$600/hour for 3 hours on a basic plumbing job and then he charged me another $207.80 GST on top, I thought GST was in the quote. Total $2285. Will never use this business again and I don't recommend them.
Great service provided by Mark and Luke. They were very professional and helpful. They came on time and gave me a quick ring to say that they were on their way. I am totally happy with the job. I had my smoke alarms replaced, power points in several rooms and a retractable fan installed. Show reply

clear them out.which included the $49.00 call out fee . After using jet cleaner and camera he identified a small area on a bend that would require replacement. He then said he would give me me a quote. this was $6000.00 .I told him i could not afford that at this stage. He packed up his tools and left . I then found that the toilet had blocked after he left . I called another plumber for an opinion ,he attended and fixed the problem for $150.00 and advised that the digging up was not required as his machine had removed the roots . I would not advise anyone to use same day trades as i considered that i was being fleeced of my pension savings
Follow-up · I recieved a return phone call after 4 attempts and lady heard my complaints and stated i would be contacted by a member of complaints team ,i have never been contacted since, nothing was offerrd as a result after 3 weeks. I am still waiting ,same old story dont use this company

Same Day Trades fixed a leak in my front yard tap about 1.5-2 years ago. It was a bit of an emergency. The upfront service was good with good clear explanations etc. However the price was exorbitant, but I paid it because I was desperate. However the tap developed a leak again this week, so the workmanship was also dubious.
Buyer Beware! SHAME ON YOU FOR TARGETING THE ELDERLY! They quoted my elderly Father in Law $3100 to service his 3 year old evap air conditioner, 3 YEARS OLD!, after the 'tradesperson' first dropped a leaflet in the letterbox. When I read the quote it said the checks would include: - that it was working properly using the pendant controller and, - clean the unit.
