Repco Battery Charger 9 Stage RBC25HDSS3

Caveat emptor "buyer beware" – Purchased this charger from Repco Hervey Bay Nov. 2021. It failed to recover any lead acid maintenance free batteries. I left it to charge a 200a gel battery on the highest setting for 2 days, BIG MISTAKE! The battery was almost too hot to touch, the sides had ballooned. I hooked it up to a brand new U.S.A. made AGM motorcycle battery on the lowest setting, the voltage before charging is over 13.0v and the charger thinks it is only 85% charged. I had the correct battery type set each time ie. Wet, gel and agm. I would prefer a dumb charger that has selectable amps (2, 4, 12 and 25) and monitor it myself than to trust this one. It did successfully charge to completion 2 x maintenance free batteries. Will be contacting the battery supplier, if forced to take a replacement charger, and same thing happens with the U.S.A. agm battery I'll be asking for a refund from REPCO, as not fit for purpose.
