ResMed AirSense 10 Elite

Expensive junk – An expensive piece of junk that breaks down. Getting it repsired has taken four months so far. The warranty is practically useless. Avoid this disastrous waste of money.
Great machine – Amazing machine very simple to navigate the menu and select the required setting for your therapy. The machine itself is quiet and has a water tank to aid in humidity. Included travel case makes it easy to transport as i do for work. I highly recommend having a local dealer to aid you in managing your machine and being able to download reports and buy spare parts if needed. Show details
Resmed 10 auto airsense is a terrible product and warranty . Do not buy Resmed product – Resmed 10 auto airsense is a terrible machine. The Resmed warranty is taking 2 to 3 months to repair and the dealers. Never buy Resmed products Show details
Failure of a trial test – Failed a 14 day trial of the *auto* ,it prevents me from sleeping . The sleep clinic gave me a Maintenance of Wakefulness test ,4 tests of 45 mins sitting up in a darkened room and not falling asleep after an overnight sleep study test that said today on return of the trial machine I was awake most of the night , no wonder there were 27 events . have such sleep deprivation using this machine on 2 occasions I had to have 2 lots of 5 hour sleeps during the day . But it’s not the machines fault it’s mine
Tested this machine, completely crap – The machine is too hard to exhail comfortably. I had the pressure reduction activated on a lower setting . It was better for a couple of hours then went to high pressure after I coughed and cleared my throat. Absolute rubbish . Poor fitting masks, needs constant adjustment . No way I could sleep properly with this machine. Gave it back to Rise… Read more
sleep health. Completely disappointed with Resmed. I am a mechanical engineer having spent more than 40 years in appliance manufacture. The software algorithm needs to be vastly improved with better sensing of body function.
I FEEL ALIVE – I've been using the Airsense 10 *Auto* for a few months now I have noticed that I feel A LOT less groggy during the day and when I wake up. This is the biggest win for me. LIKES: 1) I feel NOTICEABLY less tired and groggy during the day. I've also stopped drinking coffee because I don't need it. I can now drive long distances without feeling… Read more
worried I might microsleep. 2) Machine is quiet (like you don't know its on. My Airfit F20 masks fits really well so no air leaks) 3) Easy to maintain - clean mask and hose weekly with mild soap - top up distilled water every or every 2 nights 4) Airfit F20 mask is comfortable with 5 ways to adjust to your head shape. Just really well designed. Bravo. 5) Comes with a travel bag - very convenient and bag in itself is nice with good padding 6) Resmed service was amazing (I got mine at the Liverpool store)
DISLIKES: 1) Cleaning once a week to maintain (I'm a typical Joe who hates cleaning)
MYTHS BUSTED: - it is loud and noisy: it's actually very quiet, like you don't even know its on. My wife likes it as I've stopped snoring too. I win for both of us. I wish I knew about this earlier and I'm glad I made the decision to buy it. - It is expensive upfront. Costed for me $1300AU (machine + Airfit F20 mask), it was a Black Friday sale and Resmed store price matched an online store (nice). - Maintenance cost: almost $0 (i use water and dishwashing soap to clean the mask and hose weekly, air dry). The warranty on this is 5 years (That's $0.70/day, much cheaper than coffee). I've stopped drinking coffee btw because I feel so clear during the day using it. I did buy another Airfit F20 mask for $130 for future replacement.
OVERALL: - I bought this mainly due to (1) wanting to feel more alive during the day (2) stop snoring - Value: 100%, you can't buy good health - Get is from a Resmed store if you can, they are experts in recommending the right mask (I got the Airfit F20 and it's very comfortable and easy to use), remember they can price match. I spoke to another sales person and he said they may not sell it outright in the future, but purchased through a subscription which works out more - I really well-thought device, well done Resmed (I haven't tried any other brands but I dont think i need to)
Worst company to deal with – Ordered a airsense 10 online, i wanted the 4g model. Got sent a cloud to card. I only found this out when the machine stopped working properly. I wanted a return, I've tried so many times to get a resolution but keep getting a flat out no. I need to purchase a new machine. These machines aren't user friendly and neither is the company. Stay away from resmed if you can. Negative stars Show details
Literally can't live without it – It is a good auto CPAP, been using it for 3 years. Much prefer its comfort vs my Philips Dreamstation Go travel machine (in terms of feeling natural to breathe with). My only complaint is the design of the humidity tank - it has lots of little edges inside making it a little harder to clean. The tank is also prone to developing a leak along the bottom due to the poor design, have replaced two due to this in the past 3 years. Show details
A dud – The main fault is the water container - after a few months, the almost invisible seal along the plastic base starts to leak into the device, including the electric input cable. Then it stops working. I’ve sent mine back to ResMed twice and they deny it’s the problem. They just lie and deny. Also, replacement costs for the hoses and masks, which last under a year, are extortionate. I wish I’d never bought my machine. Show details
Cheap unreliable consumables – I have had this for 3 years now. The machine itself is sound but I am sick of constantly replacing the accessories. IN particular I am on reservoir3. Usually in the 12 months a leak occurs along the bottom. This may not be noticable sitting on a benchtop but will flow out when you place it under a light pressure such as when the pump is… Read more
operating. Secondly I am sick of the connection between the two hoses. THis connection is just friction with no click and connect or twisting. Once it has been apart a couple of times for cleaning or the like it will lose it's friction and has to be replaced. Lastly the head band is adjusted by velcro straps. This are thin and poor quality. I have to resort to stapling mine together. The issues are not hard to fix but Resmed would prefer to sell you a new one. Overall the accessories are both poor quality and expensive to replace. Better alternatives are available.
Very Pleased – I purchased my machine after a 4 week trial with CPAP Victoria. The trial included weekly consults which included downloading and reviewing data from my trial machine and allowed me to try out various configurations of masks until I found the one that worked best for me. I did a lot of research on CPAP machines and found that it takes a big… Read more · 1
commitment to successfully adapt to CPAP. Don’t expect results immediately it does take time experimenting with the various setting in the machine that are right for you. I found the ramp setting where the machine detects when you’re asleep before proving the desired full pressure setting to be really helpful. So yes I can confidently recommend this machine however just be aware about the commitment and time required to transition to CPAP. I’ve travelled a lot with the machine and found it to be well made and provided you treat it with the necessary care a sensitive piece of clinical equipment requires it should be durable enough for my purposes. Here’s an update - 2 years in and the machine is still performing well without any issues after 3 overseas and numerous camping trips. I’ve even travelled with it in the panniers of my motorcycle. I’m sleeping 8 hours a night and waking up feeling great. I’ve had to replace a couple of mask straps that’s it.
AVOID AVOID AVOID Expensive – $1500AUD for a machine that probably costs $100 or less to make, and wouldn’t cost much to design. The replacement masks are $200 each if they break, those things would cost less than $5 each to make. Been through two in 2 months. Wish I purchased a cheaper machine Show details
I HATE This DUD! – I have had my ResMed AirSince 10 Elite since 2019 and it has been in for repairs 4 times. It has completely been rebuilt and almost all parts have been replaced. Practically nothing is original except the casing. I'm glad I purchased insurance from the company I bought it from. I have spent just as much time on a loaner... which seemed more reliable than mine. Show details

Problematic machine – I have being forced to send back my old Phillips due to a worldwide recall. Had it replaced with a Phillips Dreamstation. Terrible noisy replacement. Take 2, a Resmed 10 elite. plate to eliminate the use humidifier chamber, but if you depend on humidity that is a problem. It appears there is a shortage of quality machines in Australia. F & P if you can find one ? I wish the old Phillips Respironics machine could have been repaired because the were bulletproof
This product is designed to break - spare parts scam – I am now up to my fourth purchase of this product and I have to pass on a comment about what a stunningly cynical piece of industrial design this is. Intended for use by mostly older patients, it will almost guarantee breakage within the first year of use. The plastic material is of a brittle styrene-like formulation. The hinges are paper-thin.… Read more
The lid action only goes half way before stopping and breaking. Thermal expansion of the metal plate will cause cracking in the base over time. You only have to drop this once on to a benchtop or even a sink to create a crack or leak. Older people will have great difficulty managing required nightly refills with the appropriate delicacy required to prevent a leak. Repairing is nearly impossible because of the tight fit of the chamber. In fact any undue pressure or slightly different angle in fitting can also cause a crack/leakage. Replacement is expensive and has to be done IMMEDIATELY or a dry/infected throat and sleepless night will ensue. Why did you make this unit out of $2 shop trash plastic instead of polycarbonate? So you could make MORE MONEY by exploiting the vulnerable. I hope Google eats you.
Bad quality product and terrible warranty conditions – My father and I both bought an AirSense 10 each. My dad's motor become extremely noisy in the 1st year and had to get it repaired. Mine also had the same problem in just under 2 years since I bought it. As I bought mine online from an Australian company (that has since closed down), Resmed identified mine as a US product and not Australian and so… Read more
voided by warranty and now I am up for over $600 to repair something that is so obviously a manufacturing issue. Do not buy this product
Very BAD Humidifier Design Flaw – I run out of water early in the morning, So I have to turn the light on, use two hands to take the tank out, Two hands to open it, Two hands to fill it, and both hands to put it back in....... CRAZY, CRAZY... Very user UNfriendly. Show details
Good except for access to data – The CPAP machine works well. Unfortunately only the doctor can access the full clinical data recorded by the machine. All that is available to the user is via the app, which only provides basic data. It’s my data, not Resmed’s or the doctor’s. I should have full control of it. Show details
Leaking humidifier – I have had 4 humidifier taks leak in seven months. Resmed denies there is a problem and refuses to do anything about it. DO NOT buy a CPAP machine from Resmed Show details
Water tank design is flawed – My water tank lasted 10 months before it developed a leak. Currently battling Resmed to receive a new one under warranty. A simple Google research shows there are design issues.
Ok but have design flaws! – The machine itself works well, but the design to remove the water/humidifier tank is very ordinary. I dont know how the older folk cope with it as I struggle to get it out at 56.
Stay away-humidity is a nightmare – I've been using Phillips for over 2 years without any issues whatsoever but due to the recall, had to buy a Resmed machine. Turns out to the worst experience ever, after 3 weeks using this machine, I haven't had a good night sleep. Took it back to Resmed to change the settings but it never works for more than a night or two. Settings could be fine… Read more
one night, too dry the next night or the mask completely flooded the night after-all for the same settings. Resmed explains this due to the weather (never an issue with Phillips) Have tried every setting possible on Resmed's instructions but still nothing works for more than a night or two, you either wake up from dry mouth or with water splatting over your face. When asked for a repair/replacement or refund, was told by Resmed manufacturer's warranty doesn't apply as I didn't buy it from an 'approved' distributor. Honestly, who is to know who an approved distributors is? Anyway, will be seeking Department of Fair Trading over this one, costed me over $1600 AUD.
Stay well away from these machine and this company unless if you like pursuing these things through Consumer's Affair, manufacturer's warranty means nothing

Water tank – I have difficulty removing the water tank to refill it. I grasp it top and bottom then try to slide it out, it is so tight and does not ever come out easily. The fact I have arthritis may account for some of the difficulty. I am reaching a point where I may have to consider discarding my machine for a different brand. I have had it for approx. 12 months. I have been a Resmed customer for 13 years and this is the first time I have had a problem.

Questions. The. Quality control Of motor components. ( throw away society )one would expect more from a highy rated cpap machine thats costs quite a bit , wife had a machine that was over 10 yrs old which we gave away ... wished we had kept it now dont make them to last (thats for sure ) they definitely no that this is a manufacture and design fault to let go ..???? Built into machine as it lets you no ?so you have to buy another one ......well we wont be sucked in again ,,,,,,,,,, beware ps) RESMED company has been sent a very delightful email ,,,,,, not Product can not be serviced ,or maintained nor is there any repairers avail ( ive looked extensively on net) ps ....... so far no responce from resmed australia reguarding my email ....... will advise if i ever get one ??????????????? S9 was better – I used an S9 from 2012 to 2020. The machine said it was past its life, I kept using it because I had a back up portable Transcend. The S9 still works but I purchased the AirSense 10. I was very disappointed in the quality of the machine. You cannot have the option of separating the humidifier from the machine. The water compartment is too small… Read more
and very flimsy, I feel it could break. Sure, we have all the tech stuff, except no stats on pressure. I think Resmed needs to design better quality CPAP machines and think more about useability, especially cleaning and what is important to users. The accessories like masks and pillows cost lots.
RESMED 10 Autosense brilliant – I own two of these. One for my mother and one for myself. Not sure why a few have posted negative posts about this product. options which is a must.
If you buy it and expect it to work on its settings out of the box then good luck, only misery will follow.
I set the humidity at 5.0 which is perfect for Mum and myself. I have the starting and max settings different for myself over my mother which is a smaller person.
Sales staff on these machines don't really know what is best for you. Best to see a top specialists and they'll advise the mask and settings for the resmed machines.
I went for the phillips mask that covers the mouth and rests up against the nose where my Mum prefers the nasal mask only. Must try before buying. My specialist highly recommended this mask. I love it but my Mum didn't. My specialist on sleep apnea stated that 2/3 pf people go for this type mask.
Get the wrong size mask and air pours out the side parts.
This without doubt as no equal anywhere in the world. Talk to the top specialists and they'll all say go the resmed line but must and I stress this must try them out first along with the mask.
Friends I know have the resmed or the philips machines and are happy with them. I can't comment on the philips made CPAP as I do not own one.
Some stores can be very rude to customers when things go wrong. These are often the ones selling them to cheaply.
Some cheap stores though have experienced staff and one I found in Perth will let you rent them for a month or did pre covid so you can try before you buy.
I tend to go to stores where older people with vast experience are selling. They treat us older people with better respect.
The resmed has a memory card it in down the side. Never used it myself. Like I said once you get the settings right and looking at the sleep pattern for events per hour and try and get them down to zero if possible.
The great thing about the resmed is it will work out if you are having a choking event which leads to snoring and cutting off oxygen to the lungs and brain which can result in a nightmare where the body makes the heart race that much faster to wake you up.
Resmed is an Aussie company. Not into buying any stuff from China as Chinese stuff tends not to last long.
Resmed Air sense 10 Elite - The "Ducks Nuts" – I trailed an Resmed Air sense 10 Elite for a few months and have just purchase my own. Yes, it is early days but it is whisper quiet and I am having the best sleeps and no more fatigue issues through the day which is great.
Superb product – I trialled the Fisher & Paykel equivalent for a month and found this product much better for ~$1500 mark. The water tank level is visible without removing it from the machine which is handy. The sleep report and settings are easy to use and I have just registered with MyAir site too (can't comment on this yet).
Very disappointed in Resmed S10 – This is my third Resmed CPAP over a fifteen year period, and the only CPAP I have had from Resmed, that I have truly been disappointed with. Firstly it has been replaced once for being overly noisy, but the new machine is no better. It is quiet while the water humidifier is full, but when the humidifier is about half empty it becomes incredibly noisy to the point I am up in the middle of the night to fill up the humidifier tank.
A list of failures for light reading – A list of failures on this very expensive piece of breathing apparatus. Once you get used to wearing the mask, also get used to adjusting the nose pad of a night time when you move your head around. If you have insomnia for any other reason, the mask will make things worse. At times the mask hose will come off or the nosepad comes away in the… Read more
middle of the night. Good luck sorting them out without becoming fully awake. The nose pads are made from latex and plastic. Get ready for the latex to come away. Nosepads are $80 each. The mask is mostly latex. It will last you about 6 months. The sleeves covering the latex that makes contact with your face will last less time. I had to cut mine off due to the irritation the sleeves left on my cheeks. New mask $190. Get ready to return the unit when the motor makes so much noise you're done with it. The only way to stop the racket is by not breathing. Be prepared for "rain outs". This is while you breathe you hear the water above the mask meaning there is water buildup in the hose. Time to get a wet face at 2AM. Next, the tank will start falling apart. My hinge snapped off. Still usable until the tank started leaking getting only half the night of service. I'm trying a sealer around the heater plate. New tank $100. Lastly, do not place the unit on an expensive piece of bedroom furniture. My bed side table has been ruined with the constant heat.
Additional notes for the "supplier" My Resmed CPAP Airsense 10 was put in for repair this time last month 7th January. I was told 2 - 4 weeks. During the 4th week, tried 3 times to contact leaving my name and phone number as the line was '"busy" due to the "many" customers they had. Also querying on the website. No reply. 4th time on the 4th day I get lucky and get through. The unit arrived 2 weeks ago and nobody has had the idea to contact me. And I won't be accepting the notion that I was contacted by phone, email or SMS either because that will be rubbish. I need that machine. Had I been contacted after a week I would have been there on the day. This is the third time the machine has been in for repairs. Either the product is garbage, those who are supposed to be fixing it haven't a clue or both. Finally the kicker. On the first night the noise came back again. NOTHING had been done by "Paragon Care" who said that the reported problem had been confirmed. They said the motor and filter were replaced, the machine cleaned and tested. Rubbish. The machine isn't going back, I'll just put up with the noise.
Amazing products, support & service – This unit has been a life saver -- I have a heart condition. Recently I had a problem with my Air Sense 10. Resmed found a major fault & replaced machine - no questions asked. Incredible service! I'll be a lifelong supporter of this company and their products given the amazing service & support I've received. Thank you Resmed!
Great nights sleep – I have had the machine for about a week, very easy to use, whisper quite, I have it on hire at the moment. The unit sits on the bedside, the cable is not very tangly and doesn't take up much space. I am using it with a chin strap and nasal pillow mask. The most restful sleep in a very long time.
Top of the line – This machine was my first CPAP machine, and I have been impressed with what I have received. The perfomance has never let me down, providing me with countless amazing nights of sleep. The machine also makes barely any noise, and comes with a wide range of settings, allowing you to cater the machine to your exact pressure, humidity and temperature needs. Another feature I enjoy is the ability to start the machine off with a low pressure while you fall asleep- very useful as the pressure can be quite full on for new CPAP users.
I was able to purchase the item on an interest free 24 mth payment plan when I purchased it at CPAP Victoria- Wantirna branch.
Good machine except for communication link – I purchased this model in May 2016 because of the advanced App and the communication link, with great medical historical information. The downloads stopped a couple on months ago, without any obvious reasons. One staff member at CPAP Australia suggested reloading the App. But the real issue became apparent after another discussion with the… Read more
store. They had sold me a machine with 2G communication and Vodafone has just shut down their 2G network in Sydney. This was not obvious from the Invoice.
Resmed are replacing the 2G with 3G communication, but I had to sort this out.
I don't know how anyone could have thought that 2G was appropriate in May 2016. I also thought that it was poor customer service not to follow up on this weak product specification with some message to owners in advance of the 2G shut down by Vodafone.
