hot water. I had to do this operation 4 times between the 25/09/205 and the 30/09/2025 to get hot water again. Unfortunately, to day the 30/09/2025, the Rheem did not start again, and I have not hot water, in a middle of a shower. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with this product ! I am waiting for the visit of the plumber today (30/09/2025) to fix it to be able FINALLY to have a full shower.

 Follow-up  · I had a lot of breakdowns in the first week, blaming them on the Rheem instantaneous water heater, but the water heater was not the problem. These breakdowns were caused by sand in the pipes, which was disrupting the proper functioning of the Rheem. The team of technicians and the company were very professional and efficient, and I am now very satisfied with the product.

Rheem had planned to leave me and my ill wife without water for a week but my local plumber stepped in and replaced the unit for me and billed Rheem. have called Rheem who charged me $200 for a call out and won't be able to come for a week. So me and my very sick wife can enjoy cold showers for a week. My local plumber unfortunately refuses to deal with Rheem because they are to hard to deal with. A dreadfully useless unit and disgusting completely careless customer service. I can't wait for the next unit blow up in 2 years and my warranty has run out. Crap unit anyway. Takes forever to heat water and uses way to much water.

unnecessarily. We have saving around $100 on the quarterly gas bill and the unit was about $1000 cheaper than a replacement Rheem storage unit that we had previously. As there is no water tank to rust, I anticipate that the new instantaneous unit will last at least 20 years.

Light nonstop can hear the flame lighting on and off. The Machine is rather dangerous when if you lucky after 20 MINUTES turning tap on or and off you get Really Hot Water then it back to cold after putting tiny bit of cold. I then go for the same thing again waiting 20 Minutes to get 15 seconds of Warm to Hot Water. I am thinking of making a video buying a new Hot Water System not from Rheem and taking Rheem Pronto 12 off and using a sledgehammer on it.

I've cancelled the service call and I will sort it out myself....

Would not recommended Rheem at all, this unit is what my builder installed - they must get a good deal or some kickbacks on them.

is not sustainable and does not consider the environment considering its large wastage.

Rheems plumber attended by home today to investigate, he was very friendly and professional, however conceded its simply a flaw of the product. To add salt to injury i was then issued a $260 invoice!

I will absolutely never recommend my family and friends whom are building new homes to install this system and will be leaving reviews to aware others of how un-sustainable a product this is, particularly in the world/environment we're currently in.

unit is only 3 months old. I sadly miss the old aquamax hot water tank I had for over 25 years but I fell for the adverts. I am at the point of throwing the rheem away and going back to the old tank style. Total waste of money and time. Never again.

I wish I had have chosen a Bosch like our last gas hot water service which lasted over 20 years without any issues. again. Takes us about 1/2 a bucket of water to get the hot water going in the kitchen for dishes, that is if it will go hot. So many times we just end up boiling the kettle. have rung Rheem and yep they have sent out a technician and he worked on the system and great the hot water goes great in the laundry where it is close to the system, but alas still having the same issues. If i could afford to I would junk it and get a different one. I suspect these were not designed for Australian conditions or Australian large houses. It appears to be more for a small unit where there is not much water pressure nor much distance between the hot water service and the outlet.

Update: Have had a technician out a few months ago, and the issue appears to have been us as we were not turning the tap on enough. Like most people I am used to turning the tap once and getting hot water. With these you have to turn it on to very high pressure. This means using a lot more water. However even with this method we still find it hit and miss as to when it decides it wants to work.

I would swap it out, but it seems like continuous flow is the go with all brands and I don't want to spend more money on another continuous flow when I just do not like the way they work at all.

Don't waste your money – Takes 5 -15 mins to ignite, temperature fluctuates. If you adjust the water heat or pressure it cuts out and won't relight. Have had Rheem technician out, and it still won't work. Nice and warm – I recently had issues with my Rheem Pronto 12 so I had it replaced with a Rheem 12. Great decision because it works perfectly. My other Rheem kept having issues but Rheem support did their best to help me out at all times but it was more plumbing related that it didn't last all that long. coming from the same unit. We have had a plumber attend on 5 occasions and Rheem have come out on 4 occasions. Every time Rheem have come they suggested 4 different reasons for the buzzing sound. The latest was the flue which they replaced , shortly after doing the work the technicians noticed that the sound had NOT been fixed and suggested yet another reason for the sound. I am extremely frustrated as I now have to wait and call the plumber who will come back and say nothing is wrong before they will do anything. They are now even saying that this product only has a 12 month warranty which is extremely poor. I will never purchase another Rheem product as the service and products reach a new level of incompetence.

I have been just advised by My plumber he thinks it is a fire risk and have lodged a formal complaint with Rheem and they still have not done anything

Woeful service !

NB Rheem please do not bother with the cut n paste reply you have enough information to address and fix this horrible buzzing sound that wakes me 30+ times a week.

Every 3-4 months or so I get the same issue – Please ban Rheem from answering questions in this forum... No hot water and the temp of the (cold) water flashes up instead of the preset temperature. Last time I called Rheem, they got a plumber out and it miraculously started working as he arrived. He still did some "troubleshooting" for 45min which cost me dearly. Should I reset? Cold showers guaranteed – I had a continuous flow installed in beach house, average in terms of reliability but thought I’d update the copper at farm and have had nothing but trouble. Takes at least 2 minutes to start heating, very unreliable, farm is in alpine region so walking out to reset not much fun in sub zero temperatures. Unit is not delivering hot water – The capacity is good, but it’s not hot. The shower temp in morning is ok, not hot, but at night it is at best Luke warm.
