Rimmel Stay Matte Primer

Does exactly what it says – This primer does an excellent job of helping your makeup stay put for hours, even in hot humid weather. I don't even need to use setting powder any more. A little goes a long way so it's excellent value for money. However, this primer can make your face look a bit dry if you are wearing a matte foundation on top, so if you have normal or… Read more
combination skin, only use the primer on areas that get shiny like your nose, chin and forehead. If you have oily skin, you can use it all over your face. If you have dry skin, I'd avoid this primer completely as it will make your skin look dry.
good product for the price – This is a great product for the summer month or if you have very oily skin. goes on smoothly. Lasts most of the day and you do not need to much.
Makeup Staple Item – This is seriously the best primer for oily skin I've ever used! I have tried other cult faves and I will always come back to this. It creates an even base and even helps to reduce the size of larger pores. Love it!!
Great primer! – If you're serious about your foundation and the quality, you NEED to buy a quality primer. You will never get the full benefit of a beautiful foundation if you use $2 primers or even NO primer! I used this product for about 6 months, and it was great all through summer. Im talking 40 degree days and working hard and sweating. But I used this… Read more
primer under the <3 Rimmel <3 stay matt foundation and my face looked flawless all day. (I also wore the foundation without the primer, but when I perspired, I had run marks down the sides of my face.)
Fantastic – Bought: May 2017, Coles VIC Price: on sale for about $7.00 I recently bought OC8 online from the US to control my very oily skin, but after trying Rimmel's Stay Matte primer I think I've found a new go-to product. My skin gets oily about half an hour after washing it, so I usually have to apply powder every few hours and reapply my… Read more
foundation by afternoon. I've been using the Rimmel primer for about two weeks just to be sure, and I'm happy to share that, at least for me, it works. Granted, with very oily skin nothing is foolproof, but it's the closest I've ever been to 'normal' skin. By lunchtime I can still see foundation on my nose (unheard of for me), and by mid-afternoon I can still see it on my cheeks. I'm amazed.
Some people have complained in reviews that the primer's texture is too drying. I'm confused by this as it's precisely why I bought it. It doesn't leave skin flaky, it just sort of tightens everything up and provides a smooth base. Clearly those people think that a regular, healthy amount of T-zone shine equates to 'oily skin'.
I'm not saying this will work for everyone or that it's a truly mattifying 'solution,' but it's given me some hope for the first time in 19 years.
EDIT
I've now been using this primer daily for about two months and have to report that my skin has been breaking out horribly for at least four weeks. The worst affected areas are my forehead and nose(!), which don't usually get pimples or spots. How disappointing.
