Does the V1200 have a backup ignition in case of power failures. We have had a few failures and no hot water as it won’t ignite? Is there any easy solution?

Hi Craig R, Thanks for the question. The Infinity products use 240 volts for ignition and to run the appliance. Constant 240 volts is required, and pure sine wave invertor generator may resolve the problem.

Our unit keeps shutting off and doesn't get any hot water through. We have to go outside to switch it off and on again a few times to get it to work? it is a V1200 bought in 2009.

We lost power today and now our Rinnai V1500 is not working, the pilot light just continually tries to light. How do I reset the unit ?? It’s on LPG

Hi Simone M, Thanks for the question. You will need to turn off the power point, unplug for 30 seconds or more, plug back in and turn back on, operate a hot water tap and see if it heats up. If this does not work you will need to check that the power point has power and that the LPG cylinder is full.

Test your gas supply first.If you have a gas stove ,do you get normal flame or is it lower than normal? If so then its your out side gas supply

Hi Dave, You can add temperature controllers to the V series units but it will depend on the age of the unit and specific model whether they are compatible with the current controllers. Our technical help desk can help on 1300 555 545 option 3. They will need the model and serial number of the unit. These can both be found on the on the date plate on the left hand side of the unit. model number begins with REU.

Can you add a wireless water temperature controller to Rinnai V1500 system?

Hi Patricia D, Thanks for the question, you can add controllers onto certain models depending on age. On the side of the unit there will be a model number beginning with REU. If you can confirm this model number our technical team can advise if the controllers are compatible.

Hi, We have a Rinnai V1500 gas hot water unit. It seems to be making a continual humming noise throughout our ensuite as it's on the outside of that wall. We have been in this house for 10 years...so unit is clearly older. Is the unit on the way out?
