Terrible waste of money – If I could give zero I would. The app, before it was removed, was clunky at best. There's no way to lock footage manually in the event of a near miss. The app no longer exists and the memory card isn't readable by any computer that I've tried so this is now a useless piece of junk. Can't change the settings without the app either. It's currently… Read more
being looked at by Toyota to see if they will cover the replacement under consumer guarantee. I expected more than 3 years from this, given previous dash cams I paid under $50 for have lasted much longer.
So difficult to use and does not inspire confidence – Fitted at Lexus and initially set for LHD. Quite obtrusive in windshield. Trying to load to PC so difficult. Show details
Crap product. Wish we had never been conned into purchasing this from our Car yard in a package for our new car – Camera is beeping, doesn’t record when supposed to and very very hard to use. Show details
Poor connectivity – I Had the dealer install their recommended dash cam front and rear on my new Isuzu MUX. It Starts up and stops excellent BUT to download or view any files onto my iPhone 11 requires the vehicle ignition on or motor running. WiFi Won’t work while Apple Car play is on so that has to be disabled first. Dad cam WiFi connection to iPhone 11 drops out… Read more
unexpectedly and you start all over again. Tried inserting the card in the provided holder and inserted it into my late model Mac desktop and it wouldn’t read. The distributor company ignored two phone messages seeking information. I complained to the Isuzu dealer and subsequently received an unexpected phone call from the cam distribution owner who was allegedly on holidays. He confirmed the process to read files was as I believed. Not seamless at all. I kept at trying to make it work and twice emailed the distributor for information and twice no reply. A workshop supervisor for another major multi franchise dealership advised me to stay clear of dashcams because in their vast experience all have had problems and they were unwilling to recommend any.
I’ve personally now had 3 experiences with dash cams and all were troublesome. The first experience was least troublesome and that was an economical product from JBHiFi plugged into the cigarette lighter socket and readable on my Mac desktop using Quickplay or the like.
If you rely on a Mac desktop forget reading the dash cam card. You may need to partition your hard drive and purchase Windows Software.
The dealer kindly agreed to remove and refund the system which they had very neatly installed so a it was a lose lose outcome all round.
Worst commercial product I have ever purchased – This product has been the worst commercial nightmare I have ever bought Won’t download, misses critical recording during loop, just doesn’t deliver what was promised.supplier Alberts unable to assist, they just sent me on wild goose chases around the city to other companies who couldn’t help Alberts have now closed up their shop near me at… Read more
Cannington. I could never recommend this product to anyone based on my experience. I was contacted by someone from a Sydney supplier who called me an idiot. I do have other camera products in other vehicles that work. I was told by Alberts my pc was too old so I bought a new one, they still couldn’t get the Roade Eye 350 to work
What a load of rubbish Road Eye dash cam – Pushed very hard by dealer. Be warned dont waste your money on this piece of junk. The Android app is impossible, unable to download. I am looking to replace this unit ASAP. Show details
About reliable as the US sending a craft to Mars using both imperial and metric measurements – Got it installed because I had had some near misses on the road. Checked that it was working after a few months and it was. Every time I started my car it said that it was on. Every time I hit a bump it beeped. Then I had an accident. There were no recordings for the past 15 months! Tried downloading one of the files on the device using the… Read more
app on my iPhone, and it showed it downloading. Can't fine the file. User manual has disappeared from the web. Web site has no information about the RE350 model. It has disappeared just like all the files it was suppose to be recording. RoaD-eye you missed the planet.
Camera OK. App & Software Garbage – Persuaded to get an RE-250 unit installed on a new car by the dealer. The camera itself is ok with reasonable definition. However, the Android app is one of the worst I've ever encountered. Opening it on my phone it attempts to connect to an internet site " ROAD-EYE-xxxxxx" but fails every time. Recorded road footage is often interrupted or… Read more
non-existent. The car is a respected South Korean make so maybe there is some sort of tie in or incentive for the dealer to push these units which are also made there. I have no faith in its ability to function properly in the event of an incident and intend to try and return it to the dealer for a refund and get a more reliable brand unit installed.
Piece of crap – I bought a new Mazda in 2018 and had been thinking about getting a front and rear dash cam especially one that wasn’t big and bulky, road eye stealth was at the dealership so I got it installed...... SD card replaced by installer, rear camera records upside down, no wifi connection, stops recording. It doesn’t matter how many times I try to look… Read more
at the footage there is always a problem trying to do so.
Absolutely useless. Huge waste of money. The app is garbage. I don’t have time to keep taking the car back to get it sorted out. Spend your money on something else.
Absolutely crap, do not recommend buying or even looking at this product – Freaking absolutely trashhouse. Absolutely crap, do not recommend buying or even looking at this product. Would have wanted to give 0 stars but that is NOT and option. Look elsewhere, you will be extremely disappointed.
Would Not Buy Again – The one in the wife's car has had no problems in 3 years but the one in my car (only bought my new car 6 months after hers) only last 3 months before problems started, first it was the card then 2 months later replaced the card again 4 months later then replaced the unit 6 months later stopped working again most be the card again they say so replaced the card. It's stopped working again I will see what they say this time. Show details
saved me twice now!! – Pretty awesome design and really stealth. I was able to have evidence of people keying my car at night and sent footage to the insurance to avoid excess payment! the app is really simple to use and I think the latest software update is really the way to go - lowest cut-off setting is now 11.9V and set to 12.3V as standard. highly recommend this product and their service over the phone is phenomenal. It works, but a few minor issues – While the unit itself has functioned ok, it has suffered from a few issues. For some reason the MicroSD card failed, which I replaced. Now the main unit has failed. No leds illuminating at all. I have commenced a warranty claim. The main unit was installed in an awkward spot to check it, not quite enough lead length allowed to make it easy to… Read more
access. the video quality is ok, but slightly pixalated when put up on a larger screen, but that may have also been the monitor I was using. The fact that there is no on/off switch is an issue. I work on a secure facility and must be able to turn cameras and recording devices off when entering. When I spoke to the supplier/installer afterwards about this they just said "why would you want that?" Also when I had the operation of it explained to me it was glossed over that there are some setting you really need to look at when you first get it, and they are all accessed via the app on my phone.
In regards to the App and the settings, First weekend I took my new vehicle camping I ended up with a flat battery. I couldn't figure it out. Finally it dawned on me that the camera operates after an impact, the closing of a door would start the camera to record in Parking mode. Also the Auto Battery Voltage shut off was set far to low. 11.5V dc. That is the default setting. Really?? default to the lowest?? That was not explained by the sales rep when I was being given the familarisation.
I have since changed the setting to a lower sensitivity for stationary impact. Also raised the battery cutoff to the top level of 12.3V dc.
After a discussion with the supplier, I fitted at my own expense an on/off switch. So when I am out camping or on site for work I can turn the unit off, saving the battery of the car for the really important job of starting the engine.
This unit was the one "recommended" by the car dealership.
Just had a call from the supplier, we have discussed a way forward, and he was very helpful.

Know better, choose better.
Price of crap – skips recording every 25 seconds. Its not a constant recording. Crap crap crap, would never ever by this product again. McGrath's Liverpool installed it, cost me 1400 and it is not worth crap Show details
Worst price of junk ever – Worst price of junk ever. Only rated 1 star because can’t give it zero. Phone can’t connect to the cars DVI so can’t view files. Constantly stops recording. Voice stops talking. Had it repaired three times now. Had someone hit our trailer and it wasn’t recorded. Taking it back to dealership for refund. Show details
Camera OK - software hopeless - renders dashcam pretty well useless – I definitely would not recommend buying this product and if I can I am returning it to McGrath Mitsubishi Liverpool who installed the camera for a refund. The image quality is OK but trying to do anything with the videos is hopeless. There is almost no way to share the videos and data with anyone. So if say, I wanted to use the videos to… Read more
support an insurance claim or report a problem to the Police it can't be done. So, defeats the purpose of having a dashcam.
Here's a bit more info on the problems with the software:
I can download recorded files to my iPhone but the image shows no speed and no GPS data. I can't save the file to my phone or send it anywhere.
The Windows Roadeye app shows the GPS and speed data but you need the app to view this data. I can save a video clip to my PC hard drive but it doesn't include the speed or GPS data - only the date and time. I asked the Roadeye people how would I provide the GPS and speed info to an insurance company or the police and they said "... take a screen shot ..."
I can save all the files on the SD card to my hard drive but the app will only read files from the SD card.
I can copy the files from my SD card to my hard drive and then copy them back to another SD card but the app won't read these either. It seems the app will only read the files recorded to the SD card by the camera itself. So the only way to save files for future reference is to leave them on the SD card.
I have a couple of NavMan dashcams and they are a breeze to use compared to the RoadEye 250.
If the Roadeye had cost a hundred dollars or so I'd probably expect these sorts of issues and not worry too much - I'd just throw the camera in the garbage and get something better. But this cost $1400 from Mitsubishi Liverpool - at that price I was expecting the top of top quality gear - what I actually got is way way below my expectations.
Just a quick clarification - I can save a file to my iPhone but only in the Roadeye app. I can’t save it and share it with anyone though.
Faulty – Having a lot of issues with the RoadEye re150 dual cam. I’ve had it replaced after 6 months of use, the replacement isn’t much better. Won’t stay connected to wifi for more than 20 seconds at a time, can’t download files to device, loop recording cuts out critical seconds between clips and often relays jumpy footage (skips constantly when I’m… Read more
actually able to view the files). There hasn’t been a lot of app updates for it and contacting RoadEye for customer support isn’t easy, I have to go through the guys who sold/installed it. I don’t think I’ll buy another RoadEye, hundreds of dollars down the drain.
I’ve been hesitant to write a review on it as I understand that sometimes you get a lemon once in a while, but I’m just p*ssed off tonight. I now have a damaged vehicle and zero proof of what happened. Go figure... would probably have more luck with a potato duct taped to my windscreen.
Road Eye Re 150 terrible product – Got this dash cam installed in my new car very disappointing it stops recording every couple of days not reliable at all pay good money for a product that don't work as it should, I'm going back to the car dealer to get it remove and get my money back. this dash cam isn't compatible with Mac or any new laptops. Rang the company at parramatta for help but they don't even return calls Show details
RoaD-Eye RE350 Front & Rear Dash Cam with Recording Box – We have had a few problems with ours, it does not always record. Had it back to Alberts twice, just over a week ago was the last time and we have had problems since, only recording some of the time, which is not good enough. With the idiots on the roads now days you want your evidence. However Alberts Car Stereo Cannington have been really great.
Garbage Product – Very dissatisfied with this product. Wanted a dual camera system that was hard wired to my car, and this looked like it fit the bill. Read up on the product, liked the black box option, looked at videos, and decided that it looked good. Got the camera installed by some really nice guys, and drove home. After checking the footage, I can't bag this… Read more
product enough. Grainy and really low quality images from the front camera, and good from the back.
Checked all the settings from the phone app, and it says FHD. Even took the micro sd card out and checked the settings, but I cannot change it from HD to FHD. Still waiting for the installer to get back to me about a fix for the crappy quality image. Most likely going to have it removed and will go with a better product.
RoadEye RE-350 (Dual Camera) Highly Recommended – Bought this product after being disappointed with another brand of dash cam which I removed from both my vehicles. This product is excellent, it has a smaller front camera than other brands due to the remote mounted black box that hides under the dash, so is very inconspicuous and hard to see unless you are looking for it. Checked the recordings… Read more
and have found no problems with any of it. Downloaded the windows app from the site, had some issues with the google map not loading so I rang Aus-Audio. The service was fantastic and they helped me out over the phone, sent me some different software and cleared up any questions I had (all around the operation of the app). I highly recommend this product, this product and it's backup service are 2nd to none.
