This is very solid, I am Happy with it – I bought this to replace an earlier Robinhood model that got totalled in a small oil fire on the cooktop. It is a new version, slim lines with 3 speed settings and two bright little LEDs in the front. I am very happy with the price, the way it was packaged, build quality, the functioning. It is not too noisy, moves a lot of air and is easy to… Read more ·  1

service. Like most modern range hoods it has a drum type centrifugal fan, which will in the future be tricky to clean but in the mean time works better than the old standard fan blades. It has the feature that in the event of a fire, it shuts down, protecting itself, and your roof cavity from fire. Also, if there is an obstruction in the ducting, or it has to go a long way, the motor works harder to shift the air. I like the look and we can put small items like oven mits on top of it. The corners are quite sharp however, so it is important to sit it up and a height where you are not going to bonk your head when looking into a pot!

A 'Robin Hood' who takes from the poor – ... the poor people who can't afford a better rangehood, that is. This unit was already installed in our rental and - as far as I am concerned - the only good thing about it is the name. That raised a bit of a chuckle... until we got involved in the whole "changing the light bulb" drama that others have mentioned. The poor design is exacerbated… Read more

by a user manual seemingly written by someone who has no idea of the purpose of a manual. For the record, you need to prise open the inner ring with the glass, not the outer metal ring as is shown in some general YouTube videos. It's an easy mistake to make - the outer ring pops out easily, whereas it is nigh impossible to prise open the inner ring. There are holes all around it - yet only 3 of those lead to the three metal tabs you need to prise open. You cannot see which from the outside, so without psychic powers you are essentially playing a very lame and frustrating game of rangehood Russian roulette. Did I mention the poor design?

They don't even give you the essential information that the bulb is a G4 halogen one: they just give a part number, presumably hoping you'll buy it from them rather than Bunnings. Did I mention the shockingly bad user manual?

So thank you, Robinhood. You have stolen an hour of my life that I won't get back, and caused me a great deal of unnecessary frustration and annoyance.

Frustrated, – Why have a light {Halogen} that takes forever to replace, it is sooo badly designed, whatever you do to fit lights, takes sooo long, I ended up discarding the cover & hope the lights last, but I doubt it.... should have read the reviews first, no more Robinhoods for me......

Too loud – I never write reviews, and yes wish I had checked these before purchasing! wish we had gone for better product - been in for 1 hr and I am blown away at how noisy it is! Presumed our 15 yr old range hood was bad but this is extremely loud on 1st fan let alone 3rd fan - very disappointed - so disappointed we put in our renovation Show details

terrible – This unit came freshly installed with my new house. one of the lights blew after a few weeks, the globe is a pain to replace. and a year later the fan started making strange sounds - sometime. 6 months on the fans barely work, sometimes they just stop working completely. The filters are regularly cleaned and maintained. We are about to replace with an alternative brand. I would not recommend to anyone  Show details

Works as expected – Cheap exhaust fan. Haven't had any issues besides the lightbulbs going out but that's an easy fix and to be expected on cheapies. Filters are easy to take out and put in the dishwasher. Easy to clean. Have hit my head on the sharp corners a few times though. I would buy again.  Show details ·  1

Excellent ! Better than expected – I chose this Rangehood out of many different makes in the Showroom. This one looks great, very neat and stylish. And the performance is excellent, brilliant LED lights . A bit noisy, but with a suction rate of up to 857m3/hr, it can be expected. Overall, very pleased with my purchase.  Show reply

Looks good, works ok but the lights are rubbish – For once, stupidly, I did not check this website until after I bought this 900 mm rangehood. Bought from Harvey Norman. It cost $269 (very cheap?). I suppose in some ways you get what you pay for. I read the reviews and the first thing I read was that a lady paid an electrician to change a light globe. I thought she was exaggerating. I unpacked… Read more

it and laid it on the table and tried to change the 12 volt halogen globe. The light fitting promptly fell apart. No matter what I did over 2 days, I could not get it back together. Finally I went to Bunnings and bought two LED 70 mm down light fittings and globes and ground out the range hood holes to fit! That was difficult. I suppose that my warranty is now voided.

Then I bought a roof kit and installed it.

Each installation is unique and I found it necessary to adapt and compromise but finally it was installed to specifications. The fan is powerful and not as noisy as the old 60 cm Torino it replaced. It certainly was not intrusive to the point of making conversation impossible. There was no vibration and the fittings were neat and accurate. The air flow is excellent. I am feeling quite chuffed that my replacement LED globes are brilliant!

One point. The power cord enters the appliance through the flue surround and in that form prevents the flue surround from assemblyor fitting neatly. Modifying the mounting solved that. Also, the power cord is black and obtrusive. It should be white.

If you are handy and can change those terrible light fittings it might be a cost effective and attractive option.

lightbulb trouble! – Lousy design of lightbulb fitting. I am a very handy DIY woman and have never needed to pay for an electrician to change a lightbulb. Will nevre buy Robinhood again!

Avoid at all costs – We are renting a small flat and this Robinhood RWC3CD6SS rangehood is installed in the kitchen. What a shock we got when we first used it, it is appalling, the noise is deafening rendering it impossible for us to hold a conversation, let alone listen to the radio or watch TV when cooking. We measured the noise with iPhone decimeter at 83db on… Read more

the lowest fan setting.

I downloaded the manual and it states 61db....

I wasn't going to bother reviewing this piece of junk but just this week both light bulbs failed. I could not work out how to get the bulbs out and eventually resorted to downloading the installation/user manual.

The instructions in the manual were to use a small thin screwdriver to prise the glass cover from the lights, no diagram whatsoever. I tried doing this and ended up damaging the metal ring arould the glass light and still couldn't get the glass light cover off.

I reported the problem to my landlord who sent an Electrician in. He also couldn't get the light covers off per instructions and resorted to dismantling the lights entirely from inside the rangehood.

Turns out the lightbulbs are those fiddly little Halogen Bi-Pins 12V 20W. After clipping them in both lights had to be re-assembled and re-installed into the rangehood from inside the unit.

The most incredibly fiddly light change I've ever encountered!

Can't tall you how much I dislike this rangehood now. If you are looking at one of these be warned!

Incredibly noisy, light bulbs very difficult and fiddly to change

Robinhood RWC3CH955 Rangehood – As it is stainless steel it looks nice. It is extremely noisy and the globes blow very frequently. Its a cheap unit by comparison and we were told by the seller (Retra Vision Knox City) that it wasnt noisy but it definately is. As a result of these issues I would never recommend to anyone. Cheap and it shows – We did a kitchen reno on the cheap and bought this because basically it was the cheapest they had. Certainly would not buy one again. As you would expect the fan is super noisy the light globes keep blowing. It is very poorly designed, it won't quite sit flush with the wall due the way the hanging brackets are designed. You get what you pay for I guess! :) Cheap Noisy, poorly designed, poor construction quality
