worse of the worse – The worse bagless vaccum money can buy, I bought this vacuum cleaner few years ago I wanted to replace my old one, because my old one still works perfectly so I didn't bother to unpack the new one that I bought untill last month my tenant moved out, so I unpack this vacuum and started to used it, not event 10minutes later I found it doesn't suck… Read more
well at all so I checked it and found the crap design filler have some dust and clog up so I changed it and again 10 min later it happened again, no wonder they gave me I think 10 crap filter, if you used this worse vacuum cleaner, you probably ends up spend more time to change filter then cleaning.I was using on hard wood floor and tiles, and this morning I was using it again to vacuum my daughter's car and wasn't that dirty but I have to stopped twice to clear the filter. DON'T BUY THIS GARBAGE
This is great Aussie made technology – This vacuum cleaner performs as per the manufacturers specifications on our tiled and carpeted floors. It cleans both surfaces and has met all my expectations. I noted a previous customer comments regarding back issues when using this vacuum cleaner. I am75 years old and have not had problems with the weight or back pain. I know from previous… Read more
experience from using 25 litre garden back pack sprayers that the correct adjustment for ones posture as defined by the user instructions is essential to overcome back discomfort when using any object carried on ones back.
Absolutely the BEST vacuum money can buy! – I have used a variety of vacuum cleaners in my time. From expensive brands like Miele and Hoover but they come short to the effectiveness, and value for money that I have found with my latest vacuum from Rugged. Both the product, its delivery time frame are excellent. But more so is the shopping experience from the staff, especially the manager… Read more
of Rugged. His product knowledge and advice is par excellence.
The vacuum cleaner that I invested in is a bagless (Advantage Turbo Vacuum Cleaner) with so much powerful suction, the accessories are awesome and its filtering system is one of a kind. I love its easy to use features, especially the long power cord. You plug it in and clean the place without needing to plug in at other outlets. It is very compatible to the different floor conditions I use it on.
One of the BEST Vacuums I have ever used. Well priced, powerful and best of all the customer service is absolutely fantastic!!!
I score the Rugged Vacuum Cleaner Company with a ***** STARS rating and another ***** STARS rating goes to the exceptional customer service of the Manager and Owner of the Company. A truly incredible experience. I highly recommend Rugged to anyone serious in purchasing a premium quality vacuum cleaner. Their products are really and truly superior. Absolutely delighted that I shopped from this company.
Very satisfied customer. Thank you :-)
Commercial but also domestic vacuum cleaner – This vacuum is primarily used for commercial application. The performance is extremely good and the attachments are on the cleaning wand. Turbo brush saves time and there is no issue with bags. Show details
Rugged product with rugged customer care to boot. Caveat Emptor – TDLR: - The expectation set by their marketing claims (inclusive of online reviews) vs the reality was polarising. If you're going to hype a product and service up it better be good in my opinion. - Back pain was experienced during and post-use. - Was told that I should have done more research before buying so here's the research for future… Read more
prospective buyers. - Personally, I'd recommend Pullman.
Where to start, a low-quality product or the dismal post-sales service?
The context for use is intended for jobs at our church, offices, and home environment. My previous experience comes from cleaning in offices and at homes on a casual basis using a Pullman.
After reading the feedback for the product and business, I felt that everything was on point; a commercial vacuum that could rival a Pullman.
It looked like a product that was designed for everything with the customer service to go hand with it. Coming from a marketing background I got to give it to them, their marketing is actually great in pulling me in.
Instead, the polar opposite was experienced post-purchase. After sending what I believe was a somewhat negative and constructive correspondence feedback email I was met with a defensive and condescending response.
A wall of text on how to use it properly via manual and how I shouldn't see it as an ergonomic trekking pack etc... Business professionalism in the reply was void. Customer service fundamentals - absent.
I have worked in customer care all my life and specialize in marketing for one of Australia's largest organic distributors for years dealing with over 50 brands. This was the most polar experience I have with a product and service with reviews and marketing claims as a point of reference.
In all fairness, I wanted to like their product, brand, and business hence I bought the product to see the 'hype' IRL.
As a point of reference, I have spent months in the factories of Shenzhen in product prototyping devices and general products like toys for export. I love product design and have spent my life devoted to it.
So let's break the down...
Weight:
As a point of reference, I've spent decades lifting weights for health and working with handling products of different sizes so I am well aware of weight distribution for lifting and use by design.
Despite the selling point being lightweight at under 5kg; my impressions was contrary from half a dozen periods of at least half an hour interval uses for the following reasons:
Each time I lift the unit, the impression, not light. Perhaps because the centre of weight is at the centre top and not at the bottom? I am unsure. This is with zero attachments. However, with the attachments and electric cable, the weight sales point becomes pretty much obsolete in my opinion.
Ergonomics:
Despite boasting that the product is designed with ergonomic experts, I am of the opinion it is not well designed, I actually question the skillsets of their design and ergonomic department.
It looks ergonomic but real-world use indicates otherwise. I have experienced back pain after each short use of less 10 minutes increments of the product.
The strapping and the unstrapping of the unit become a nuisance because the shoulder straps are poorly designed and made - they are narrow hard canvas straps. Take this off and on frequently then you will see what I mean. There's no padding to distribute the weight.
The bulk of the weight which is supposed to rest on the waist was acceptable but the issue was that it wobbles while moving around areas thereby adding strain to the shoulder strap and therefore spine. There were no stabilizers to stop the wobble.
This is what I believe is a factor in causing the pain in my shoulders and lumbar. The flat backing is not ergonomic at all, it's like having a hardboard on your back. Added to the fact that you'll be doing a lot of twisting while cleaning around corners. If you have slight back issues: caveat emptor.
Suction:
Disappointed straight off the bat factoring weight and commercial/industrial positioning. Used in low dust/particle areas and cleaned as per instructions with each use. Also very noisy for the level of suction. You might want to consider putting on earplugs.
Components:
Despite being postured that it has met industry and manufacturing standards for quality control I am of the opinion that the components are poorly made - here's why: - Plastic components feel cheap compared with others like the Pullman - brush bristles have already deformed at first use. - Main hose unit leaks suction at the open/close hold point. - Main hose is stiff - this affects the ease of use and maneuverability. It's 'rugged' I give it that. - Metal tube is heavy - this adds even more weight to an already off-balanced product. - Shoulder strap quality feels inferior as a whole. - Generally, components come across as clunky (a reflection of poor design) compared to other vacuum cleaners (commercial and domestic) I've used over the decades. - Even the quality of the box packaging leaves an impression. I'll give you a hint, they've skimped on this as well.
To sum up, if you don't want back issues I'd strongly suggest you do your research (as per reply by rep/owner?) and look elsewhere. Otherwise be smarter than I am and test it out in person, thoroughly, before handing over your hard-earned money and not get blinded by their marketing hype.

Best vacuum I have ever owned! – I have owned one of these vacuums for over a year now and can’t fault this product in any way. I use this vacuum on a variety of surfaces and have never had a product that has suction anywhere close to this one. Cleaning is very easy and seamless and would never go back to a machine with bag ever again after using the product. Would definitely recommend to people in both domestic and commercial use! Powerful suction. Easy to clean – Purchased the new Advantage from Rugged in Jan this year and use it for vacuuming factory offices, kitchen and lunch room. Very powerful suction.Emptying is easy. Duster makers cleaning the metal filter a cinch. The Motor filter hardly gets dirty but I vacuum it anyway. Can't complain. Never want a bagged machine again. Show details
Little suction. Filters changed after daily clean – Have had nothing but trouble. Work as a commercial cleaner and this vacum gets used everyday. Main problems 1. Loses suction very quick. Going though numerous filters. 2. Have had motor burn out twice whilst still under warranty. 3. The vacum hose doesn't sit or seal properly. 4. We specifically wanted a bagless vacum that could do the job.… Read more
Maybe it was a dodgy batch of vacum.
5. We have a combination of carpet, tiles and lino flooring in the building. Can do 1/2 the building before we change filter.
6. Once the white part of the filter gets furry we noticed it worked better.
7. It is light weight and does the job.
One of the worst – I tested one of these at the ISSA show and just had to have one. I loved how light weight it was. I've been using it in a commercial environment and it's possibly one of the worst vacuum cleaners I've owned and used. It's not a patch on my very old Hako Rocket Vac. It loses suction easily and dust and dirt gets caught around the seals. Show details

Hard Sell At A Trade Show – We own a Commercial Cleaning Company, we went to the ISSA trade show in Melbourne, we were seduced by Hako walking in the main entry. The Hako Advantage Bag less needs more research and development to be done on this unit, before any more are sold, Mine has gone back to Hako. Show details
