Russell-Hobbs Continues to disappoint – After having it less than a year it makes a horrid screeching sound every time I use the blender stick attachment. The plastic on the food processor attachment cracked and water gets trapped in the lid part. Sure, it works but not without a lot of noise and disappointment. Russell Hobbs brand continues to disappoint with their Microwave Convection Oven. Can't do any of the featured operations very well. Kmart brand appliances work better!

Would not recommend – Have brought this product twice now, first from Big W then got a refund and brought the second from Riley’s Better Electrical. Big W’s lasted a day, broke and started smoking after beating steamed carrot. Riley’s lasted 2 weeks and did the exact same thing but with whipped cream. Do Not Recommend!!  Show details

Really bad design or wrong chopping blade supplied? – Christmas gift used chopping bowl once and blade wouldn't locate properly and chewed itself up, on inspection I'm fairly sure that the blade supplied not suited to the bowl supplied but if it's the right blade then I am gobsmacked at the obvious design flaw. Show details

Poor design stick blender faulty seals under blades, unwashable unhygienic – Silicon phalange and metal seal loose under blades so food get into shaft of stick blender difficult to wash and unhygienic. Becomes loose on first use so product faulty to begin or poor seal design Show details

Great addition to the kitchen – Easy to use, not weighty in the hand. You are able to whisk, chop and mix all with one tool. Comes with 2 mini chopper bowls, although i havent used the smaller of the 2. Whisk feels a bit flimsy & can only be used for light whisking. Otherwise good unit for price. Show details

Very Handy – I had a Russell hobbs stick mixer and it lasted for around 5 years, it was great easy to use and blended up everything i wanted. Couldn't ask for a more convenient mixer.  Show details

Does the job – I bought this stick mixer on the weekend as I wanted to make some soup with my surplus of tomatoes. I wasn't interested in any fancy attachments its just the stick blender I was after so I didn't want to shell out a lot of $ for one that comes with a multitude of bowls etc. The RH stick blender does the job, it has the sucking issue that all… Read more

stick blenders have, and of course if you lift it too high you'll get flicked with hot soup, so the usual amount of care is required. Gave me a smooth soup without having to juggle a pot and a standard blender. Much easier to clean up as well and the metal shaft means it won't be stained after a few uses like the plastic ones. Good shaft length for using in big pots too and decent weight to the unit.

Unhygienic seal area of the stick – The seal on the stick directly below the blade is useless - it allows food, water etc to get under it and cannot be removed. Therefore totally unhygienic no matter how well you try to wash it.

What a disappointment – Bought this using some gift vouchers, wish I'd put them to better use. Really struggled to get the chopper to connect to the blender and then it wouldn't chop much without plenty of liquid, unless it was onions, but couldn't even chop those very small. As most people have mentioned, the whisk is basically useless unless you're whisking… Read more

something really runny otherwise it just unscrews itself.

The stick blender worked much better, but a couple of times it sucked the metal stick out the plastic. The biggest disappointment was having only used it 10 or 15 times over the last year and a half (so out of guarantee) the plastic part where the shafts all fit into and make them spin has just disintegrated, so now totally useless.

absolute a waste of time..... I have replaced it with a sunbeam – the nylon piece that goes over the spindle of the blending stick broke off and now just comes apart... not a good handy machine at all very poorly designed.it hasn't had much use and I have replaced it.

Seal broke on second use – I had trouble putting it together, and managed the first time, but broke the rubber seal the second time. So it won’t work now. I only had two uses out of it. I am very disappointed.

Nasty – Picked up the Russell Hobbs on display the entire thing fell apart as I tested it for comfort. Auto response was to catch falling part. Resulting in slicing my finger

Came apart after 2 uses – After just 2 uses, the stainless steel blade part came apart from the black plastic part which screws into the main electrical part. I can still use it but i have to hold it quite still while using it. Show details

Do not whisk it! – I have had non stop issues when using the whisk feature and giving it the benefit of the doubt thought maybe it's just me! Nope the design of it is strange. The whisk goes one in the opposite direction that the lock connection goes so when your mixing cake mixes, banana bread mixes the whisk comes off mid mix. Absolutely annoying! Will definitely be returning asap! Show details

Motor died twice – Been through two of these. First lasted about 2 months before it stopped. Replaced under warranty. Second lasted about 18 months before it went as well. Both times it worked fine and then when went to use it next time, nothing. Didn't use it alot. Occasional winter soups, fine chopping mushrooms to hide on the kids' pizza and not much else. Definitely nothing demanding. Won't buy this brand again.

WARNING: Motor blew up on first use – Very disappointed - bought this because it was on special and the motor blew up on first use! Will have to take it back to the shop for a refund. Credit to Big W, I got refunded without a lot of questions asked. This product is definitely not up to task. Show details

Ordinary – I'm so disappointed with this purchase. I'd read enough decent reviews to make this purchase and its acceptable at blitzing soups or chopping chickpeas for hummus, but if you try to use the beater for buttercream icing- forget about it! Its not up to the job, and because the attachment screws on, it actually unscrews during the mixing process making it impossible to use!!! What a waste of money...  Show details

Dissapointed short life span – I bought my wife a Ronson Can-Do for her 21st birthday in 1964 and has worked well until some of the accessories started to wear out .We decided to update it with what we believed be "a quality Russell Hobbs" equivalent.....boy what a shock . The Russell Hobbs motor failed after 4 years after using it for about 35 to 40 times in that duration .… Read more

I thought it would have lasted 8 to 10 years or am I expecting too much nowadays ??? In all fairness, it did work well when it worked......

I wont buy another Russell Hobbs , I will try to buy parts for the Can-Do on Ebay....

Lightweight use only - not sure for how much longer though – Bought the mixer just to blitz herbs, biscuits, stale bread, and other small soft elements while cooking. The processor bowl seems to work fine, as does the whisk attachment. The wand blender attachment never really seemed to work with anything else other than liquids in a deep bowl - it either got stuck to the bottom of a bowl, or flung food… Read more

around the kitchen if it was slightly raised.

The motor seems powerful, but struggles with anything semi-solid. Trying to make fig and date paste for tarts is pushing the stick motor too far. The motor started disintegrating and dropping out small plastic pieces not long after we purchased it - I won't use the stick blender for anything other than covered/sealed processing now, it's just too risky in an open bowl. The motor also heats up significantly even with the shortest use.

The beaker/tumbler started cracking and splitting wildly after about 9 months, and we very rarely used it.

It seems to do most light tasks ok - but only for a short time otherwise the stick becomes too hot to hold to use.

I wouldn't buy another - either this brand or another. This was my first and only stick blender, and frankly it has turned me off buying another when it dies. It might only get used every six months now.

Fortunately I bought it at nearly half-price at a department store sale.

Terrible longevity, not user friendly – Joining the chorus of bad reviews of this product. Mine lasted little over a year, with very intermittent/light use. Even before the motor died blending a salad dressing of all things (hardly onerous) I found it really difficult to get the blade head on and off the motor unit, and the included chopping blade and pot was totally useless for… Read more

preparing anything. Really regret not looking at the reviews before buying this one, I've previously had better luck with very cheap stick blenders but am now trying to find something that will hopefully actually last as I hate things going into landfill.

So far so Good, but we'll see as our first one died – Had one of these that we used once then not again for two years. When to use it just after warranty expired but it failed right then, only used it that once. Motors don't like to sit around so we dismissed that as bad luck, many reviews suggest otherwise but... So we happen to find a great price on one and see how it goes, if it lives then… Read more

great we have spare attachments, if it doesn't I wont be buying Russel Hobbs again.

We have bought a few Russel Hobbs items which were all very good so we are hopeful that our new one has had its problems sorted and serves us well.

Fingers crossed.

Attachments seem to be fairly good but not of the standard of the bigger brands.

Mum has an Electrolux that is awesome and a heavy ish, well built unit that is powerful, she loves it.

Might go that way if this one dies...

Horrible – I bought for quick blending so I don't have to set up my big blender every time but it is such a disappointment. It is such a waste of money. It doesn't blend at all. forgot about the hard ones like pepper but the the soft ones like tomatoes. Do not buy it . Stay way! They look fancy but good for nothing.  Show details

Perfect small appliance for big Jobs – I had a cheap just to do stick , that couldn't do anything then I got a Russell Hobbs it can Crush Ice and nuts so easily in the mini chopper I had been doing all these by moter and pessel, I didn't realise that Russell Hobbs had such an multimunfuctional stick mixer, and it is made of strong steel as well.and has a 2 year warranty included… Read more

not all companies offer that long, I have other Russell Hobbs Sunbeam and small Krupps Appliances. I choose them for their strength, power, and multifunctional purpopses and that will last a life time most of my Kitchen Appliances do and are of good Quality, Brand, where they are made make a big part in my decision, so a Russell Hobbs is a Great Kitchen Appliance to have and use. Try IT not a Cheepy.

Dead after 2-3 years and performed half of promised tasks well – Bought this from Big W in 2013. Wouldn't say 2-3 years is a substantial life cycle and continue to believe these companies don't make 'em like they used to. Would a conspiracy to manufacture parts to last just outside the company and Australian consumer warranty be too farfetched? Right off the bat the motor struggled to whisk or chop denser food… Read more

items; say a thicker pancake batter, creaming butter and sugar, etc. We predominantly used it to make smoothies after that, which it did well at using frozen berries and banana. Apples, kale you're wasting your time. The chopper did alright at making homemade hummus and biscuits/nuts for baking bases. Not really a reflection on this brand itself but stick mixers are fantastic for blending soup in the pot, and easy to detach and clean. Shame the longevity wasn't there and will seek another brand to replace this one. Companies really must pick up the responsibility to make sturdier products/motors, offer better warranty and minimise landfill waste. Will look for longer warranties because 1 year isn't telling me you have confidence in your own product.

GARBAGE – I was given this as a gift as my previous well-known brand was too difficult to unclip the attachments. The RH worked well but about 8 months down the track (after limited use) the chopping attachment won't anchor to the spindle. What a useless piece of .........! I have emailed RH regarding this as I also had a slow cooker which didn't even work on Day One! Am looking forward to their reply!!!!!!!!!!  Show details

someone punch Russell in the head – Piece of crap, the website says"products to make life easier",Always makes more work and more mess. Can't chop ice, top heavy, Perfect gift for someone you don't like , maybe the mother in law. Try putting more thought into making it functional and less into making it pretty, cheap plastic internals. Buy a sunbeam or Braun

Rubbish. Broke the 2nd time we used it – Bought this product expecting it to be good. Our sunbeam one had broken, so thought we would replace with a better product. We were wrong. Plastic broke on blender and won't spin. Handle heats up and can't use it too when using stick blender which is dangerous. Don't buy this product.

Value for money – Mine lasted 2.5years with 3-4 times per week use. I am going to buy a new one for $59 at big W. I had a ba mix before .
