Do Ryobi make a compact version of the pole for the OPP1850 Telescopic tree pruner. It would make it easy to clean up the tree branches after looping them.

Hi Elnev, They make a chainsaw pruner that is shorter but isn't compatible with the pole pruner. The pole pruner is for higher to reach spots and you can buy a hedge trimmer attachment or a lopper pruner attachment which you can swap the chainsaw out and the hedge trimmer or lopper pruner in so you have a longer reach hedge trimmer or lopper pruner. Ryobi sell a shorter chainsaw pruner that comes under the "Expand-it" range and that can be swapped out for a hedge trimmer or line trimmer for your lawn or a couple of other attachments. If you want to cut tree branches or trim hedges that are higher up then the pole pruner is what you want. If your want something within reach close to ground then the "Expand-it" range is what you want. Hope this makes sense??

I want to buy and OPP18 power head but Bunnings seems to be the only place that stocks them and they are out of stock. Is there anywhere else I can buy one?

Hi Paul, I think Bunnings are the only place that sell Ryobi but I could be wrong. I haven't seen them anywhere else but Bunnings. Either look it up on their website and see if other stores have any or ask someone instore if they can check for you :-)

Thanks for getting back to me. It looks like they are completely out of stock and it is unclear when they will have some back in stock.

I have a new OPP 1850 and not happy as the chain drive does not keep the chain ON, if any vine type plants are cut it wraps around the drive and lifts up the cog disengaging the chain. Will take it back to Bunnings for refund. If it is replaced I presume the same problem will exist.

Hi Trevor, I have never had this experience with my Ryobi 18v chain saws but I have with my large petrol chainsaws (my fault did not adjust chain in time) The chain tension has to be kept adjusted up to keep the chain tight to keep it in the guides on the bar and around the drive gear and nose wheel, if not kept adjusted foliage wood chips etc can get under chain drive and guide groove and cause the chain to jump off. I have found cutting palms any type of vines the fibrous stringy material the plants are made of clogs up under the chain drive guard surrounding the drive gear in rubbish and can cause problems hence I don't use them on that type of foliage just tree branches. If cutting vines, palms, lantarna, boganvillia, strangler fig vine etc I use hand pole saw and hand loppers nothing mechanical to fowl up, I wont put any of the above foliage into my 25hp petrol mulcher it will bind up and jam the machine something similar that's happening to you. Hope this helps.
