Great Fridge that doesn’t give up! – I bought this fridge back in 2009, has now been 9 years of use and this fridge is still going strong. I haven’t had any problems with this fridge so far but lately it has been making weired noises like a tapping noise. Would highly recommend. I am waiting for it to die so I can purchase a bigger fridge for growing family but it just doesn’t give up! Haha. Show details
A rip off – There is a fan that hits some ice behind the covers and starts making a scratching noise. This destroys the fan and the whole cover has too be replaced. Defrosting doesn't fix the problem, it is just poor design. I suspect it is designed to break down every 12 months, days after warranty. last year it cost $500 to fix. Stay away – Do not buy this fridge back, in 2012 i got this fridge form Harvey Norman cost over $2000. The fridge stopped working after 5 year keeps blowing circuit boards, got the first board in October 2016 and the second one December 2017 at $350 a time. Buy another brand, buy at your own risk. modification kit to resolve the issue. 15 minutes later the parts were fitted with "A GENUINE RECOGNISED SAMSUNG MODIFICATION KIT".
The fridge is now 7 years old and has run without further issue until this week but this is a different problem. It just clicks as if there is an overload switch cutting out.
Almost tempted to buy another. ..but Samsung Service is atrocious and extended warranty is only up to 5 years. I am not convinced Samsung have sorted out the problems. Probably try a BEKO or Hisense with extended warranty. Don't believe they could be as bad.
Disappointed – Have had many problems with this item, including stop working and all the shelves being fragile and breaking way too easily. Now my fridge is beeping when it feels like it, jumping from crushed to cubed ice. Overall it is a terrible fridge. I have now had the fridge for 5 years, but have been unhappy with it for the past 4 years. Now have to replace it as it is leaking and has damaged my wooden floor!

start rising to around 12deg. there is a kit that can be installed for about $160 depending on the fridgie u get but that lasts about 6 months and starts icing up again.
Solution? there isn't one, the only thing I can think of is that food items may be places too close to the fan vent holes which restricts the flow of cold air through the vents thus causing the fan area to get colder and freeze up, I had the kit put in 6 months ago and its frozen up again, atm I have the thing in pieces got all the ice out will now put it back together and try to keep food items away from the vents and see if that makes any difference, my advice is don't buy this model Samsung fridge

I just called Samsung and they are as useless as hip pockets on a singlet, they cant tell u anything and refer u to one of their service people in your area who charge u a couple of hundred just to come look at the thing and tell u what u already know looks nice and works great for the first few years, but then? fridge ices up
Same ice build up problem!! – Paid for extended warranty when I bought my Samsung fridge. Been repaired 6 times and just received it back after it was gone 6 weeks for repairs. Guess what it's icing up again, soon won't cool properly and food will start to spoil. I estimate about 35 weeks in total this hasn't been functioning correctly. More than frustrating but gotta say it looks good and the ice maker works well!!

had also died. Repairman came out free of charge as it was under warranty and repaired it and I also claimed $300 of lost perishables as it was covered by the warranty. Up and running again until yesterday, July 2014. The fridge side fan is making a deep whirring noise like it wants to take flight. I have gone online and read a lot of feedback where people who own both LG and Samsung fridges are complaining of faults with the fans and the described sound is just like what mine is doing. So I have contacted the retailer once more to get someone out to look at it before it dies and I am once again left without a fridge. When it runs its a great fridge, but to have this second issue within 4 years of owning it... I'm not impressed. Keeps icing up & i lose tons of money on spoilt food – With the amount of food i have had to throw out due to the fridge icing up and me having to defrost everything...I could've bought a more expensive fridge to begin with. If you want to wake up everyday of your life hassle free and not concerned about when the fridge is going to break again then dont buy it !!! And for those who gave this fridge a good rating after having it for 2 weeks start preparing your tissues for the sorrows that will come. I think it has to do with the location of the temp probe, right in front of the coil. I have now moved the temp probe to the body of the fridge to give a more acurate reading.

Worst product ever purchased – Purchased this fridge and had problems with fan icing. Samsung replaced the fridge but second one does exactly the same thing. fridge wont cool enough and it needs to be manualy defrost unless you have the time to turn it off until it all melts, I have just defrosted it for the 2nd time in 2months. There are no problems with the water and ice I have had it for 3 - 4 years and gets used often The freezer gets cool quickly, water and ice maker excellent. Reading through the reveiws on this site it seems very common, you might even sugest it is a manufacturing fault similar to what they had in the UK. Offered to fix it at our cost as it died prior to the 3year warranty; and then when we didn't come to that party they offered to "possibly give an extended warranty if we agreed to pay to have it fixed"...how does that work?!!
Really disappointed - fridge died on the night of the 23rd December, lost all our Christmas seafood etc and then we have been in "discussions" with Samsung ever since (30.1.13 when writing this) - was bought on 29 December 2009 and paid in excess of $1600 and should have a life expectancy of 10plus years. Ice dispenser Didn't last what could be the expected life of a $1600+ appliance purchase so seems to have no real value for money spent; real bad customer service, if you can even call it that;

have to shut our bedroom door at night so it doesn't keep us awake. The ice setting also is also often unable to be changed for long periods of time once it has changed itself, as is the child lock. The LED's had started disappearing too so our display panel got replaced but the problem is still there. Our "cold" water is not cold. I was told that it should be as cold as having a jug of water in the fridge but it isn't. I have since been told that it will never be that cold. I'm annoyed at this as we allowed for the smaller size fridge as we didn't think we would have to have cold water jugs in there but now we do. We have had service calls 4 times to look at the fridge and I am still unhappy. My next step is to contact Samsung and hopefully get a refund. This is apparently a common problem with these fridges. I really don't want it any more and would be very hesitant to have it replaced with another one the same. defrosted the fridge by turning it off. There is also nothing behind the fridge. A samsung technician costs $100 call out and $100 per hour after that, alongside the cost for parts. Sounds like an expensive problem to me,

fridge on our recommediation had the same problem and were spun the same story by the Samsung service department. After that we routinely used a heat gun to defrost the fan ourselves. At six years of age the freezer part stopped working, and when we were quoted $700 to repair we junked it and bought a Westinghouse. In the past 7 years we have bought two big plasmas, two split system aircons, and lots more and none were Samsung, plus friends and family have made similar choices. Bad choice Samsung service department. Solid cabinet and fittings. No warranty service and lying Samsung staff. Six year life span.

The worst fridge, and a terrible company to deal with – The worst purchase I have made. and 7 days later we paid for it's replacement, around $250.00. It worked for another 3 months then the compressor went, which cost us almost $800.00. Samsung agreed to paid for the cost of the compressor but not the labour to put it in! It's not a lightbulb Samsung, it's THE component part of the fridge, and it needs someone qualified to put it in. Samsung's attitude stunk, so I took them to the small claims court and won the cost of this and the previous repair. You'd think oh well happy ending, nope, the stupid thing is broken again, it's now 3.5 years old, the fridge side isn't working. So here we go again Samsung. The problem when your fridge is on the fritz is that you have to keep emptying it, food spoils, your house is full of eskis and melting ice. It's been a total nuisance. Do not buy this fridge. Or anything Samsung makes because they don't stand by it, and with this level of faults possibly shouldn't be in the business of making appliances at all. from design concept, product testing to manufacture and delivery and after sales services, no-one seemed to spot that they had created the worst fridge on the planet.
