Purchased 2022 December, complete failure July 2026! Both freezer and fridge not working and $100 of food destroyed. So disappointing that a fridge purchased for over $3k only lasted 4.5yrs. Called Samsung support they recommended a repairer who could not attend for over a week. No choice but to purchase a new fridge, and not a Samsung. Will never buy Samsung again.

I did Renos in my home and purchased all brand new appliances. My Samsung refrigerator is a side by side fridge. I love the way the fridge looks but have had lots of issues with it. Including the fact that it leaked water all over the floor and into the basement. The fridge is eleven years old and there are two adults living at home and using… Read more

this fridge. I have 5 shelves on the door and each shelve has been cracked for about 5 years. Each shelve costs about $134.00 dollars per shelf. So about 500.00 or 600.00 dollars to replace the shelves. I contacted Samsung and I was told the warranty covers the shelves for 1 year. They will not help in any way. Do I waste my money and buy them and hope that the fridge lasts a little longer. Do not buy Samsung appliances. I have masking tape on the shelves to hold them together. Not a good purchase and no customer service at all.

Crushed ice fail – Bought this fridge for our parents as it was the only one that will fit in the space allocated. It looked great with the matt finish. However it does require daily cleaning to keep that nice shine. It marked easy with palm mark or finger prints. After reading so much bad review we bought the 5 years concierge service for peace of mind. Best… Read more

thing about this fridge is no plumbing require for the water and ice, but it does get annoying filling up the water 4.5L and you do lose some of the storage place. The dispenser worked very well, nice and refreshing cold water. The crushed ice is not as good as I would like, some are still your standard ice cubes size and hence this tend to bounce around and straight onto the floor. Plus there is a lag time for the ice to come out. The old LG one was much better at this function.

Another good point about this fridge is how quiet it is during operation, on my device it registered 50-58dB. I do like how Samsung install a digital display of the various temperature on the inside of the main door rather than at the front panel. Much pleasing on the eyes rather than so many glaring LEDs. It also very good to have instruction inside of how to remove/refill the ice bucket, rather than chasing after the manual.

No major issue at present time, the fridge look great, and it the only one that fit. As for crushed ice that did not work for me and quite expensive for the size.

This is a great fridge. The ice and water dispenser get plenty of use, but it is the only fridge I've ever owned that broke down. The motherboard failed after 3 1/2 years. On the bright side, Samsung replaced it under warranty and the fridge is working again. The technician was fast and efficient. I like the way Samsung stand behind their products. Show details ·  1

Loss of Power flaw – Really like this refrigerator but it has a major design flaw. Two times the power has failed in our area lately and both times our refrigerator has failed to start on power restoration requiring a power reset. Not too much of a problem but we go away often caravanning. If we are not home what then, everything in refrigerator would be spoilt. Show details

Couldn't be happier – Was hesitant to buy this fridge because of bad reviews for being noisy. OMG it is so quiet! The only noisy thing about it is when the ice drops in my glass. It looks great. Cools & freezes well. Enough room. Even comes with matching magnetic blocks to go on the outside of the doos so when you open them they don't dent the walls. Couldn't be happier.

Bought this fridge late in 2020, mainly for the icemaker and chilled water. Always had issues with the freezer sometimes thawing things out, you'd go in there, and everything was soft. Started having some issues with the ice maker last year, the hopper had broken away from the mount, only a small piece of plastic holding it in place. Samsung sent… Read more

out a new one. But then the ice tray wouldn't dump the ice, but the fridge kept trying to fill the ice tray, causing water to be pooled at the front of the fridge. Spoke with Samsung multiple times, did some trouble shooting with them, but now they have refused to send someone out to look at it. At the moment, cannot use the water dispensor, and had to pull out the ice cube trays. Just this week, the hopper broke again the same way, discovered a piece of plastic in my drink. Not sure that I will ever buy another Samsung product now, thought they were a quality brand

Only lasted 3 years – I purchased a Samsung 676L Side by Side fridge in November 2020 after my previous LG fridge of 11 years died. The purchase price was $2149. I had no problems with it until I woke up yesterday, the morning of the 29th December 2023 to find it not working. It had tripped the circuit and so I plugged it into another powerpoint and it tripped… Read more

again. This happened with numerous powerpoints so I called a local appliance repair man. (Thankfully one was working as this was the week between Christmas and New Year!) He did his diagnostics and found the compressor had given up the ghost. He said he'd not seen this happen in a 3 year old fridge before. I told him that I had a 10 year warranty on the compressor and he educated me as to the "scam" that this was. The 10 year warranty relates to parts only, so yes Samsung would be able to deliver me a compressor. However I would then have to find someone to cut out the existing compressor (which is a fully sealed unit) and WELD IN the new compressor, AND then I would have to find someone to re-gas it! The repair man said that from his experience, it was highly unlikely I would find someone to re-gas it. (He had tried once before and after phoning 10 people in this field, no one would do it except for one that charged $800+)! So I decided to not even bother putting in a warranty claim because of this reason, plus it would take weeks and weeks and I couldn't last that long without a fridge. So I've got not choice but to buy a new one, but I definitely won't be buying Samsung again!

disappointed with my Samsung fridge. Within a short period, it began experiencing major issues — including inconsistent cooling, loud noises, and water leaks. Despite Samsung being a well-known brand, the product’s quality has been far below expectations. The fridge operates for a week or two and then stops completely. Each time, we have had to throw out all the food, and Samsung has offered no meaningful support. One explanation provided by your team — that a door was left open — is both incorrect and unacceptable, given the severity of the issues. Customer service has been slow, unhelpful, and ineffective. Multiple service visits have not resolved the problems, and we are left with an unreliable fridge that cost far more than it is worth. I expected much better product durability and customer support from a brand like Samsung. Please refer to the attached photos and videos, which clearly show the fridge’s poor performance. We are forced to manually turn it off and on several times a day just to restart the thermostat and restore cooling. This is obviously a manufacturing defect, yet Samsung refuses to take responsibility. I have also attached case numbers and references related to our previous complaints — yet no real action has been taken.440719417,4411473707, any number of calls to this team, and repair centre no answer or CS TEAM ADVISE US “ we will check “ and team never gets back to you I am requesting an urgent call back from your team and insist this matter be treated as a priority. We have been left without a reliable fridge for over four months — this level of customer service is completely unacceptable. I expect a prompt response and a proper resolution.

Rust, rust and rust again!! – The freezer door under the water and ice dispenser continually rusts out. See photos. Door replaced every 18 months since purchase. Same problem every time. Samsung now refuse to repair despite replacing with doors with the same issue instead of fixing properly. Rude and uncaring customer service. 6 months old and major fault – Ice maker broken, continuously making strange and disruptive noises that are so loud, we had no choice but to turn off the entire fridge just to get some sleep. Communicating with the overseas call center was challenging due to… Read more

the language barrier, and they often misunderstood our concerns. Despite our persistence, it took multiple calls and follow-ups to finally have the issue inspected, preventing us from waiting even longer for a technician.

The technician assessed the situation and recommended replacing the entire freezer door. However, much to our dismay, they informed us that there was no stock available at that time. The alternative solution was to opt for a replacement fridge. Given that this is a significant flaw, considering the need to turn off the fridge and the resulting food wastage, and the fact that our Samsung refrigerator is merely six months old, one would expect Samsung to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, our experience has shown otherwise. Samsung and its staff, in my personal experience, appear to have little concern or regard for their customers. A quick look into their track record with refrigerators reveals a history of dissatisfaction.

Fast forward three weeks, with ten calls and two emails, we finally received an answer regarding the resolution of this issue. Rachel from the escalations team informed us that Samsung would not replace the refrigerator, deeming it a minor fault. Instead, they offered to repair it. However, we have made it clear to them, both verbally and in writing, that consumers are entitled to a new refrigerator or a refund in cases like this, in accordance with the Australian Consumer Guarantee. Yet, Samsung seems to believe they are exempt from the law, appearing to not accept a major fault with the necessity to turn off the refrigerator due to the noise. It should be apparent to anyone that the opposite is true.

Our experience with Samsung has been profoundly disappointing. We refuse to back down, and we will escalate this matter until Samsung provides the replacement or refund we are entitled to, following the appropriate channels.

We will continue to update the progress as it unfolds, and if Samsung genuinely wishes to resolve this matter, we will make sure to provide updates. However, at present, it seems that QCAT (Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal) will need to step in to resolve this matter if a satisfactory resolution is not reached within the next seven days, by the 15th of February, close of business.

We plan to include pictures and videos showcasing the noise issue at a later date.

UPDATE 22-2-23 - Samsung continues to disregard the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) regarding a major fault. As a result, we have officially decided to involve QCAT to resolve this matter and obtain a refund. We no longer wish to have any further dealings with this defective product or Samsung's unsatisfactory customer service. The Goodguys at Browns Plains have simply passed the responsibility onto Samsung, providing no assistance. We will provide further updates soon.

8-3-23 - We made an attempt to lodge a case with QCAT to resolve the matter. However, due to a formality issue in the paperwork, it was recommended to redo certain parts of the application.

10-3-23 - Made a complaint to the CEO of Samsung office

15-3-23 - Contacted by Dennis (CEO Rep) Offering a refund with an estimated turn around time between 21-29 days.

22-3-23 - Filled out online form to begin refund and collection of faulty fridge.

28-4-23 - Still no refund, well over 29 days. Fridge not collected either.

2-5-23 - Advised by Dennis, that problem with bank details. Requires screenshot of my bank details to confirm.

10-5-23 - Samsung logistics say they coming next day to collect old unit

11-5-23 - No show, no communication, unable to get any answers from Samsung!!

15-5-23 - Request CEO Rep Dennis to advise when refund will be issued - purchased a new fridge weeks ago and require funds - no response.

17-5-23 - Samsung Logistics call again - saying will pickup the faulty fridge next day

18-5-23 - Wait all day again then they advise coming at 8PM at night to collect. They arrived in the pouring rain and took it away.

23-5-23 - Still waiting for refund - Escalate to CEO office.

Looks great....but unfortunately it isn't – Bought this fridge based on the Samsung brand name and how it looked. Took a long time deciding between this and a similar LG model, the appearance being the deciding factor. The fridge compartment will not consistently remain at temp. We put food on the lower shelf and the following day it is part-frozen, a few hours later and the ice has gone.… Read more

The following day the ice has returned. We have thrown away a fair bit of meat because we weren't confident that we wouldn't get sick. Samsung sent out a service technician to fix the fridge, he replaced the board and said it should be sweet. It seemed okay so again we went out, did a shop and loaded it with food...a day later, the chicken on the lower shelf was frozen. Again, more food straight into the rubbish bin. Spoke to Samsung today, they offered to send out a technician again, however, they can't guarantee I'll get anyone as it's "holiday season". This means we're currently sat with what is effectively a $2000 paper-weight, using a second-hand 5+ year old Electrolux for our food. Sure, we can keep drinks in the Samsung, and items that won't turn if they repeatedly freeze, defrost, freeze etc, but we don't want to keep running 2 fridges when we paid so much for the Samsung not that long ago. Samsung customer service is also horrible. I kept explaining my situation, that I had today and one other week day off before Xmas, that we had lost 2 lots of food, that I had taken a day off work the last time the technician came, but it meant nothing. They just kept asking which day suited me for the technician, when I told them the days (today and 8 days from now) they said that I needed to choose a different day. Maybe a day's wage is nothing to a billion dollar company like Samsung, but to our family it is. Do not buy this fridge!!

Perfect for the two of us – Enough room for the two of us to shop week by week… anymore food and it wouldn’t fit. I like the water/ice dispenser that we didnt have to pay for plumbing.. just fill the water dispenser. Looks great and love the ice but worst fridge I've ever had – So I bought this fridge for $1900 in December 2020 because of the crushed ice feature and I liked the idea of chilled water and loved the stylish finish. Since buying it I have had the technician out to replace the ice maker because it just kept churning when not being pressed and because the white plastic edging on one of the shelves just split… Read more

and fell off. And tonight another shelf has done the same, so now I'm expecting the third remaining shelf will split too. The chilled water won't be chilled if you refill during the day but also usually not cold. I assume its because the water to fill a glass is the amount sitting in the pipes in the back of the fridge not being chilled and probably leaching plastics which would explain the odd taste to the water. I expected this when I first bought the fridge but expected it would dissipate quickly with use. Nope - still tastes bad and not chilled. The reason it is the worst fridge I've owned is because of the moisture in the fridge - the jars etc in there feel wet. Which would explain the veges etc going off so quickly as other people mentioned. I've never experienced this before in a fridge. My last fridge was a $500 Whirlpool and it was brilliant! The vegetables/fruit lasted for ages and the interior was dry. Unfortunately when I bought this fridge there were no reviews up yet for it. I still love the look and I love my ice. But it is a lot to pay for a very poor performing fridge. And now I'm back to calling customer service for another replacement shelf. On the upside...the customer service is very good and nothing but praise for the technician that came out the first time. Oh and also - the fridge capacity is really small. The Whirlpool fridge was half the size but had the same fridge capacity! So the extra room is in the freezer but that also isn't so big. We are a 3 person household, I don't know how it would accommodate a family of four and it sticks out 10cm from cabinet

we bought it. It works a treat. It also makes ice as well as dispense water. We haven't had any issues of loud noises or cooling problems. You will have to modify the way you put things in the fridge. If you use wide trays etc... it's worth checking out to make sure that the fridge is wide enough or deep enough for you, being a side by side. It took us a little getting used to but we are pleased with this fridge and the way it looks and operates. Being Dark Stainless Steel, it needs to be wiped daily. Other than that, it's a great fridge.

day or so and has to be thrown out. I've tried all the trouble-shooting suggestions - not that any cover these particular issues. Samsung's response has quite literally been "it's cooling, so what's the problem?". Love the look! Works well – Bought this fridge in April this year as an upgrade for a kitchen reno and loved the colour! Didn’t have plumbing or the space to fit in a plumbed in fridge so got this. mentioned in some reviews. We fill it with filtered water and it tastes the same. Ice machine works well most off the time. Only had to free up a blockage issue once and sometimes it takes a bit of time to get the ice out, but otherwise good.

Cons: not a huge deal, but dirty finger prints that always seem to be on there as this fridge doesn’t have handles. Our last side by side had handles which only required the usual end of day wipe down of the handles for hygiene reasons. This one I need to wipe down more regularly to keep it looking nice. Also, to pull out crisper drawers and water container, you need to be able to swing the doors all the way open. This is not a major issue for us but could be if you’re in a small space and need to have the fridge near a wall/obstacle that may mean you can’t open it that far.

Overall super happy with purchase. Looks schmick in the new kitchen!

Oil Give It Foive – Fridge we had before was a Fisher & Paykel which was good. Had it for 7 years and twice had to bring a sparky in because it was short circuiting. installed for a fridge (thanks Clarendon Homes you didn't even suggest it) so had been looking for a non plumbed yin with cold water and ice cubes.

Harvey Norman appear to have killed off most opposition so I'm always reluctant to buy from them as there are only JB HiFi, Good Guys, Retravision and the lovely G.Harvey. Always liked The Good Guys for some reason and JB Hi-Fi are getting more and more expensive.

We were after a Samsung fridge as they had a deal going (December 27th 2010). All the retailers were selling the one we fancied for $1,078. Off to The Good Guys in Tingalpa, Brisbane. Looked at every other manufacturer's fridges and wasn't sure so we went off to H.Norman in Carindale. They have a decent selection and we fancied the Samsung SRS673DMB (676L) which was shown as $1,990. Asked for their best price and the chap came back with $1,950. $85 delivery and $25 to take away our 7 year old lovely stainless steel fridge. That's a TOTAL OF $2,060. Delivery three days later which we thought was fine.

Off to JB Hi-Fi in Carindale. THEY DON'T SELL FRIDGES. They don't really tell you that and told us we should go to Mt. Gravatt. Screw that for a game of soldiers and walking the phone was the next step. No answer from Mt Gravatt so they're knackered.

We hadn't seen that fridge at The Good Guys, Tingalpa, but I cajoled the missus to phone back to the Tingalpa Good Guys. She asked for their best price for the Samsung SRS673DMB (676L) as we'd had a price of $1,950. Two minutes later he said they could do it for $1,889. Plus $75 which would include delivery and pick up of our auld yin. TOTAL PRICE OF $1,889. Saving of $171. That! Plus they said they'd deliver the following day.

No brainer.

Press a button and we get cold water instantly. Press the ice cubes and we get cubes within a couple of seconds. Press Crushed Ice and the fridge obviously has to crush the ice. Mixter, maxter but it churns out slightly crushed ice which is fine for throwing at enemies. Takes a few seconds but so what.

Only bad thing so far is that the cold water isn't awfy cold but that could be because the fridge is only a couple of days old.

Beats any of those stupidly priced $3,000 to $6,000 fridges which my daughters buy.

We have not heard any update from Samsung since despite us writing multiple emails. We have also tried calling customer centre but they are unable to help, saying the case manager has to call us. Really happy with this fridge/freezer – We deliberately chose this model, with the internal water tank, over the option of direct connection to the water supply. The reason we chose a water tank in preference to the direction connection was that the direct connection models required a filter that are regularly changed (and these filters are not cheap). Also, we had heard of a few… Read more

horror stories of the water pipe for direct connected fridges breaking and causing water damage in the kitchen. While topping up the water tank does involves a little effort (like keeping an eye on the water level), it avoids these issues.

The fridge/freezer component works fine. It cools down quickly. And it is a quiet fridge. Occasionally, there is an internal rattle from the ice dispenser and occasionally it makes an ice crunching noise as it turns the ice over. The only minor quibble so far is that one of the doors has developed a small clunk in its action.

Keep in mind that this fridge is a big and heavy fridge. The delivery people refused to take it up our stairs, and we had to get professional removalists to bring it upstairs.

Overall, we are very happy with this fridge and would buy an identical unit tomorrow if we had to.

Efficient stylish frig – It's not easy picking a frig out of all those models on the retail floor, and I'm so glad we chose this one. Appearance great - frig doors are a stylish and modern semi-matt black, and smudge-free. Love that this is an ice-maker without plumbing, to save worrying about flooding if the hose bursts. Its performance as a frig, freezer and an… Read more ·  2

ice-maker/water dispenser is excellent. Size is fine for a small family. The ice-maker broke down one year into ownership and Samsung had a technician there within a couple of days, brought the necessary part with him, fixed it in twenty minutes, all under warranty. Great service. Changing the temperature is absurdly complicated, but once you understand how to do it, it's not so bad. I'd buy this frig again.

2nd repair within a month, not happy – 1 week after starting to use this fridge it stopped cooling altogether, Samsung sent repairer and they replaced sensor and motherboard. Worked fine but we didn't put water in the water/ice system seemed fine but when water was filled the freezer frosted up and stopped cooling. Samsung sending another technician out. VERY DISAPPOINTED with this product and Samsung Show details

AMAZING!!!! SEXY – ice machine that doesn't need to be hooked to plumbing was a bonus. Our house is very small and the fridge couldn't get in through the door because the ice machine was sticking out. You can detach that part and it will fit though a normal door we then reconnected it. We love it!!! it keeps everything very chilled and cool best investment ever especially with growing boys! Show details ·  1

Beautiful looking but very disappointed – Purchased side by side samsung fridge 1st Dec 2019 it broke down in the first 3 months Feb 25th 2020 temperature stopped cooling, was missing a clip so ice would push off. Everything went warm in fridge/freezer. Technician fixed it, then 3 weeks later it happened again, technician came a second time put fridge tape on it to hold clip on. A day… Read more

Great looking fridge but so loud! – it has great styling I love the no handels sleek look and the way it is spaced out inside is very good, it’s bright as well. Some design flaws, you have to open the door as far as it goes to be able to pull out the drawers in the freezer and same goes for refilling the water compartment in the fridge. The ice and water lag a little and the… Read more

crushed ice could be smaller and faster to come out. After three months it was freezing everything at the back and Samsung replaced the back panel in the fridge. Now two months in it often gets too cold and freezes water or food that’s right at the back. It is the loudest fridge we have ever had which in itself is odd to say about a fridge. It makes very loud cracking noises every few hours - like you think it will self combust. Someone said it’s the new type of gas that can make that noise but it’s excessive. When the automatic ice makes is full and falls into the ice keeper it gives you a fright. No idea if it’s just our fridge or it’s all of them. We bought it because of the no plumbed in water and also because it looked good. We have a 20 year old Samsung fridge in the garage and it still works well.

Please bring back my 25 year old Phillips NEVER-FAIL fridge – One star of the rating is for very pleasant customer care. One star of the rating is for a very pleasant looking fridge. But NO STARS for cooling ability, reliability or a useful user manual! My Samsung side-by-side matte black SRS673DMB fridge is 3 months old. First issue after a few weeks of use - ice maker stopped working. Rang customer… Read more

care, very helpful bloke - between the two of use we figured out the issue - a metal part had fallen off the back of the ice compartment. I was happy to put it back on myself, customer care indicated which way around the part should go, so we saved Samsung the cost of a warranty job and got the ice maker back up and running within a couple of hours.

Second issue a few weeks later - ice maker stopped working again. Checked to make sure the metal part had not fallen off again - it was fine. Turns out the ice maker was iced up this time (according to the internet this is a common occurrence). A couple of cups of water "down the chute" and this melted the ice and sorted out the blockage. Ice maker back in action (no call needed to customer care).

Third issue just a few weeks later (now). Freezer not cooling. Then fridge not cooling. Suddenly here we are in the middle of summer in the tropics (Darwin NT) with no fridge or freezer. Call to customer care - help please! Nice bloke again. Got me to check whether the power was on (no, he wasn't joking)! Then suggested I decrease fridge and freezer temps. Mate, we weren't just a degree or two out. The thing wasn't cooling at all! I'm talking everything melted in the freezer and sour milk in the fridge. This was more than just lowering the temperature. So the nice bloke booked me a service tech. Of course, fridge broke on Saturday. Service only happens Monday to Friday! Sunday evening now and I am waiting with baited breath for service tech to phone me tomorrow with a call-out time. (If you are reading this Samsung - PLEASE make them come on Monday)!!!!

This fridge looks great - the water and ice are really handy (when the ice maker is working) - but cannot escape the fact that this fridge has had 3 issues in 3 months, one of them SERIOUS (as in - the fridge / freezer are not cooling)!

I am late 40's with a family of 8. This is the FIRST NEW FRIDGE I have ever purchased. I have had 3 fridges in the past 30 years - all hand-me-downs from family members - so they used them for 10 to 15 years before I got them, then I used them for another 10 to 15 years on top of that! NOT ONE BREAKDOWN in all 30 years of using hand-me-down refrigerators. Those bad boys just plugged away no matter what. No fancy water / ice dispensers, but they did the PRIMARY job of a fridge, which is to KEEP FOOD COOL!

WHY did I "trade up"?! I am now regretting getting rid of my 25 year old Phillips never-had-a-failure-in-its-life fridge. For all the issues I am encountering with this new, supposedly superior Samsung model, now I just wish I had my grubby, rusty-doored yet FULLY FUNCTIONAL Phillips fridge back.

Samsung, your customer care is great - the people on the phone are very pleasant indeed. But your user manual sucks (not even a table with the error codes listed). No exploded view of how the back of the ice compartment should look. And what the heck is the "Sabbath" function? Please explain! I feel sorry for your customer care people because they are fielding calls about these fridges every day - always the same issues - you wouldn't have to employ them if you just BUILT A DECENT FRIDGE and wrote a decent manual for it! Yes, the fridge looks fabulous. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK!

Fingers crossed my service tech comes tomorrow and gets my fridge back up and running. How many more times in the warranty period will I be calling Samsung customer care? Which leads me to thinking - once the warranty period is over, how long will it be before I am left with a massive hunk of useless black metal in my kitchen and a big hole in my bank account?!

Sorry for lengthy post. Rant complete.

Fridge stopped working after five weeks – Poor customer care. We bought the fridge in late Jan 2020 and it stopped working after around five weeks of use. Samsung Care advised that it will take four days before a technician is able to attend to look at the fridge, and this was the first available technician. Show details

Stopped cooling after 5 months, already had 4 repairs – This fridge looks good, but has been problematic from the start.
