Samsung C-Series HW-C450/XY
VerifiedMPNs: 852162 and HW-C450/XY1 review
So good that I purchased a second time – I have a cheap TV that has awful tinny sound from its speakers, no matter what volume I play it at. I thought the only way to overcome the sound issue was to add a soundbar. So I started looking around to find a decent soundbar that has quality and value for money on a low budget. My only criteria in choosing one had to be that it was either 2.1 or 3.1 setup; I didn't need or want the surround speakers for my situation, and also the sub must be wireless. As the Samsung C450 fit that criteria I bought it on a whim without seeing or hearing it in person. It was a brand new release at the time of purchase and I bought it online via a big box retailer. I click and collected it in store and took it home to set it up. I initially set it up via Bluetooth with my different branded TV. It worked well via Bluetooth but each time I turned the TV off and then back on, Bluetooth wouldn't reconnect. This became annoying so I connected the soundbar via the supplied optical cable. Now every single time I turn the TV on, the soundbar powers up and lip syncing is perfect. Never had an issue since. The sound quality surpassed my expectations of a budget friendly soundbar setup. This unit is loud and clear at all volumes. I've only taken it to 75% loudness as this volume is way more than required for my 14 square metre bedroom where the soundbar is located. Whether the source being played is music, vocal dialogue, action movies, or even sound response from the TV menu, all sound is so clear, precise, and impactful when it is supposed to be. The wireless sub goes deep and never has an issue with connection or syncing. I was so impressed that I bought another identical soundbar for a second bedroom that has a Samsung CU8000 series TV. Once again I initially connected it via Bluetooth. But this time the Bluetooth works perfectly and always connects as soon as the TV is switched on. I keep the Samsung TV connected to this soundbar by Bluetooth only as it just works. But with either TV connected by optical or Bluetooth, the sound appears identical and remarkable for this model soundbar. Whilst there is no HDMI input, that feature does not affect me for my situation. The included remote is only really necessary to adjust the sound during first use to pick a sound mode to your liking and adjust the treble and bass and subwoofer level. After that, the volume is really controlled by the TV remote, or you can use physical buttons on top of the soundbar if you choose to. To say I'm impressed is a massive understatement. I'll buy this exact same model again if I need another soundbar in the near future. As for the living room, I'll choose an even bigger bar and consider the surround speakers.
