Too old for basic stuff – It took my longer to save for my first big family tv than this thing has lasted in terms of currency. 2017 75” doesn’t even support a simple app like 9Now which is a household staple for us. I have an older Sony smart TV that is still fine. Show details
Great picture. LCD screen failed after 1 year – Bought this TV a couple of months ago to a year, and the screen LCD has faint black lines going vertically and a faint black dot. Disappointed in Samsung, for this tv to break after 1 year.

Forced adverts in the interface – This was once a great TV but a recent software update forces advertisements into the on-screen menus. You can’t opt out. You can’t dismiss them. Spamsung call them “sponsored tiles”. Sponsored. They’re selling advertising space on MY screen to third parties, sometimes for highly offensive programming*, and they’re not giving me a cut of it, let… Read more
alone any say in it. That’s not how sponsorship works.
So if, like me, you want a nice shiny screen to plug into your blu-ray player and watch only discs you own or streaming services where you pay money so you don’t get ads, this is not the product for you. No Spamsung product is.
***** Someone from Spamsung is bound to pop up here and copy-paste some drivel about “enhancing the viewer experience” and “new ways for viewers to discover programming” in a reply. They always do. They’re probably bots but just in case this one’s a real human: Hi! Here’s some advice from one of the viewers whose experience you have utterly failed to enhance:
If you really want to enhance my experience ditch the advertising. Advertising DETRACTS from the viewing experience. It’s why people buy shows on disc.
I already know how to discover new programming. There’s a whole internet full of discussion of what is worth watching where it’s easy to compare thoughts with like-minded viewers. I don’t need you to tell me what the people buying the ads want me to watch because I really don’t want to watch that.**
And if you really must keep selling advertising space on my screen that I own, please contact me so we can work out an appropriate rate to lease that space from me. I figure a base rate of $1000 per week with multipliers for number of viewers (for when visitors get annoyed too) and offensiveness of the promoted item (you’ll pay lots more if you want to make me think of MKR while eating dinner). Backdated, of course.
* The latest was for My Kitchen Rules. I would sooner gouge my own eyes out than watch that. ** In fact, with the current set-up and app installation on my TV I cannot watch the last few items you have been shilling.
Samsung is constantly seeking to develop and enhance the… Read more (+1 reply)
Worth the wait! – After much forum research, friends conversations and many walk-ins to electronic stores, I bought this TV during an online eBay sale for the cheapest price I could get at the time. Pros: - Smart TV's installation, setup and using its simple operating system/apps proved to be easy breezy. - TV tuning was easy enough with the few instructions… Read more · 1
in getting every channel up and running.
- Wireless connectivity to my home internet plan was great as I binged on Netflix for a few days after that.
- I used the Bluetooth capabilities to screen share my laptops' screen when I worked from home.
- Playing the PS, watching sports and action movies was awesome as expected with the 200Hz motion refresh rate.
- Loved the relatively small One Connect box as this allowed for easy wall mounting and connection to external devices.
Cons:
- Within 2 months, a solid dead pixel line appeared. Samsung repair centre technician had to come out to replace bad panel with a brand new panel. So far, its all working well.
In my opinion, this TV is a solid purchase as everything lived up to expectations thus far. Pretty happy with it!
Good quality TV with some well thought out details – We purchased a 65" Samsung UHD TV that was on sale to upgrade from a 2012 55"Samsung we had. Lovely detailing particulary with the neat cable management although our internet is connected with an ethernet cable to the TV ( more secure than using WiFi) and the cable is visible and not hidden like the power/Samsung cable. bar and Blu-ray recorder which paired easily to the supplied remote. Almost as convenient as the Logitech all in one remote we were using.
The picture is pretty ordinary on standard definition TV and pretty good on HD TV, but in some instances, the picture and sharpness of moving images was better on our 2012 55" Full HD Samsung with its 200Mhz refresh rate which is what this new Samsung has supposedly. Have fiddled extensively with picture settings but obviously the Ultra High Def is only apparent when playing UHD content through an appropriate player or other.
Still, it is a very nice TV for not a crazy price and is quick to start up and load TV guide, apps etc.

Great 4k 3D Television – I gave this 5 out of 5 for one reason only, well two. It's 4k and is a 3D television. Personally I love 3d movies and it is getting consistently harder to get a TV with 3d in 2019 and to get a 4k tv that does 3d, well what a bonus. It may not be top or even medium range but it suits what i want and i couldn't be happier with it - 4k and 3d images look great to me on this tv. Show details
Perfect TV – It is quite a shame that this TV has been discontinued. It is the best TV I have had, it is so thin, it comes with a smart remote, it’s easy to use. The TV is so thin that you are able to mount it up onto the wall and it looks just like a picture frame. Show details · 1

Poor service – Purchase the tv back in 2018 and after six years the picture quality is gone and I would thought the tv would last 10 to 12 years at least. Requested support for one time service to no avail. And advise also purchase another Samsung 82 in 2020 thinking they are well built and base on my experience with Samsung I would not recommend to any business, family and friends in my opinion. Disappointed – I have had this tv for a few years pictures are great but within my warranty period I have had it repaired twice. A line suddenly appeared right through the middle of the screen so it needed to be replaced And the 2nd time something happened to the voice. Muffled and little to no sound. Terrible software issues - multiple failures – The picture quality and utilities are excellent and functional. The EPG, recording facility, and apps keep failing or deleting themselves from the menu. The EPG caused the whole TV to freeze and mute every single time it is selected - to look at what's on (EPG) which is pretty much every time you go to change the channel, the whole TV freezes… Read more
and mutes and the guide hangs on screen, I need to exit out and go back in every time I want to look at what's on.
The apps that have been download (SBS on demand, ABC iView, 9 NOW, 10 Play, Youtube, etc.) keep disappearing from the home page and you need to hunt around the system looking for them, this is a software issue and is quite problematic.
Not good enough for such an expensive TV.

Excellent picture, awful menu and ads, do not buy – Samsung made the awful decision of recently embedding advertisements into the menu bar of the television that cannot be turned off. Spending $2,000 didn't seem to be enough for the greedy company. Will be selling my TV this week, buying another brand and never buying another samsung product.

Poor smart features – I thought by having a Samsung s7 edge phone this tv would integrate easily for streaming video apps as my previous tv had inbuilt Chromecast and worked really well it wasn't a Samsung though. A Little Dissapointed – Great hd displayed broadcasts , very poor sd content quality, also sport content eg football blurrs the moving ball, not a high speed tv at all, needs a soundbar to give descent vocals, I chose this tv for mainly sport viewing, hence my heading Show details

Terrible – Really bad motion blur. Samsung admitted there was a fault and replaced the mother board and screen. Problem still wasn’t fixed. They then told me the was working within its limitations and it was because I was not watching 4K content. The technician then played Samsung’s 4K content with the same motion blur. 18months on and I am still stuck with a terrible tv and no solution!! Show details
Amazing picture, "smart features" let it down at times – Using our TV connected directly to Media Centre PC via 4k. Picture is great, using direct HDR works OK after a lot of mucking around to get the TV to behave. Biggest issue is all the smart features on the TV interfering. Samsung really need to just have a "dumb display" option that just make the screen a monitor in a sense. All the rubbish like… Read more · 1
"eco mode", auto dimming, HDR over complication, much more..! just annoys and gets in the way.
Otherwise yeah once you get it working right its a great TV. I have always gone Samsung with Plasma then LCD and have always found their screens the best.
Exceeds all expectations – Basically, short and sweet. This TV is discontinued. But if you’re lucky enough to find one on EBay, grab it. Why buy an OLED or QLED? This beast of a TV beats both of their picture quality’s (in my opinion) I done extensive research and I’m so happy I ended up with picking this Samsung. Show details · 1
Best TV! – One of the best tvs I’ve ever bought. This Samsung Tv has great picture quality and excellent sound. Use Netflx, Stan, TenPlay, ABC Iview, YouTube - you name it, you can watch it on your tv using only your Samsung Tv remote. Price point was great too at $1200 (on special at the time). Great Smart TV, easy to use – Really easy to use with “app” like menu features making switching from live TV to Netflix and YouTuve and so on so easy. Picture quality is so good that regular live tv channels don’t look good unless you switch to their HD alternatives to really enjoy the viewing pleasure of a high definition tv. The smart remote is also very handy but takes some getting used to if you’re used to using a million buttons! Show details
Wow – I'm really glad this got the TV. This TV is really awesome. This TV service is really very nice and good. The sound of this TV is very beautiful, its quality is really amazing. Love my tv! – Not only is the tv a great looking one, the quality is great too! The speakers are more than enough, however we have added a Bose speaker to give us the cinema like feel when watching movies. The tv has a number of ports to support HDMI and USB devices. The operating system and apps are excellent. We even access netflix and stan via the TV with no problems at all. Highly recommended! Show details

Simply wow!!! – Very satisfied with picture quality. Flawless design, specially stands. No wires are visible with Samsung connect. Sound quality is excellent. HD picture is super clear – This smart tv is very good value. The picture is clear and bright, the smart tv features easy to access and catch up services, Netflix etc all work well. back to hide cords, and the power cable slides inside the leg to make the installation very neat. There are multiple ports to accommodate every need, but I couldn't get my Samsung sound bar to connect properly. The one complaint I would have is that the apps sometimes don't work, and whilst the tech support is good, you just have to wait until they fix the issue which can be annoying.
Brilliant picture - just love it! – Absolutely jaw dropping beautiful picture with this TV. We just got it and I am blown away every time I turn irt one. Colours pop! Darks have good separation and the contrast is superb. Audio is OK too - which I appreciate. The remote is complex but it all makes good sense if you sit down and go through all the functions one by one. Its a great TV! Show details

Pretty good! – The picture quality for this TV is outstanding! It is really an improvement from my previous TV purchases. However the remote is quite hard to figure out at first, so I don't recommend this for the technologically "challenged". However, the connection to the internet often drops out which means you need to keep resetting it which can be a pain. Show details
A terrible product and rip off through Samsung – I purchased this unit 3 months ago and it developed a problem on its own. I watched the TV one night and the next morning when it was switched on, it started showing vertical coloured lines which couldn't get resolved through trouble shooting using settings option. On contacting Samsung service centre, the representative seemed more interested… Read more
covering up for Samsung by reading out one sided policy rather than understanding the customer's issue. He passed me on to the service centre which was a third party vendor and that too when on my specific questioning about whether it would be a Samsung company's service centre and assurance that yes it would be.
The service centre even without sending any technician or asking me to send a photo of the issue with TV being on, already knew the problem and mentioned that they have ordered for the parts and made me wait for one week. In this period, neither Samsung nor their authorised service centre told me to send a photo of the problem. Within this period, when I switched on the TV a couple of times I could see that the problem was spreading horizontally on the top of the screen from left to right.
When finally the technicians came after a week, in 2 seconds of starting the TV and without doing anything told me their conclusion that it was a physical damage. When I inquired that I can't see anything like that they started saying that this could occur internally also and there is a point on the top left. I again touched the whole area but couldn't feel anything. They told me that Samsung will put the fault on their service centre and will not admit or own up the problem. The service centre won't be paid and they will be in a problem. They took a couple of photos and went assuring me of resolving the issue.
When I didn't hear anything from them, I contacted the service centre and was told that there was a physical damage and I need to also pay them a visit charge for which they will send me an invoice. I mentioned to them that you are rubbing salt on my wounds and instead of repairing/ replacing the part/s, you are asking to pay for a 5 minutes visit when their technicians had other things lined up in my suburb which they themselves mentioned on their visit. The cost of the parts which was the Screen was told to me by the technician as $3500.
I contacted Samsung customer centre immediately and was told to wait for 24 hours. The next day, I received a call from the rep and he mentioned that it was a physical damage as assessed by the technician but they are happy to resolve it by charging 50% of the cost which was $1750 as per information received earlier by me. I told him clearly that nothing has happened due to anything related to us and I won't bear any cost. He then asked me to wait for a further 24 to 48 hours for a resolution. On the next evening just before the closure time of Samsung's customer centre, I was sent a text message to contact them to discuss my outstanding matter.
When I contacted them the next morning, the senior case officer instead of helping a very disappointed and harassed customer who had been subjected to so much frustration and aggression of their customer and service centre's approach offered the same resolution which was 50% of the cost. I told the officer clearly that I am not at all interested in this absurdity and will not be cowing down under their relentless pressure tactics.
I have clearly found through my experience and feedback of some other friends that this product develops faults on its own within no time and then the company tries to make more money by ripping off its customers who have already paid such a huge amount on their product already. Kindly think many times before buying this product.
Love my Samsung TV – Absoloutely love my Samsung TV. The look of it is amazing. There are no technical faults. The colour and imagine on the screen are the best I’ve ever seen and the design is so well done. I’ve never had a Samsung product until now and I won’t be looking back. Show details
Great image – Picture quality is excellent. The remote takes a while to get to know how to use it, but it's pretty good once you figure it out. Two annoying things: 1. The connection to the internet often drops out meaning that the network needs to be reset. 2. The universal remote feature does not turn my digital receiver on and off when I turn the TV on and off meaning that I need to use two remotes. Show details
