Nice - but better for cheaper – OK first off I have to say that I got this TV for $5000 as a replacement for a cheaper LG OLED that suffered terrible screen burn after only 14 months and little use. Pictures quality: It took a bit to adjust to the QLED after the super crisp OLED. BUT after 4 months now I love the quality. But if anything it my be a little too sharp. Sound: On par with most tvs. I use a surround system for movies - a sound bar might be an option later on. BUT this tv is limited to what sound files it can play. So almost anything Dolby is a nope :(

Apps: Being Samsung's Flagship 4k tv for 2019 it comes with all the bells and whistles. Most apps come pre loaded, if not are available to download. The network on my wireless modem router is fast so everything work smoothly (Better than the OLED). Although media play back can be a pain in the butt somethings, as it does not remember where a movie was playing from off a hard drive, and fast forwarding is slooooow.

Hdmi's register when you plug an item in, so it automatically found my PS4, XBOX one X and Switch. As well as Wii U, Fetch and DVD player which uses a HDMI switch selector. Big Thumbs up to Samsung there.

Remote: The remote is very minimal and small. Being flag ship it comes with the welcomed Netflix and Amazon Prime buttons, but apps are easily accessed via the home button anyway. Changing channels is slow, but volume works fine.

The wide angle viewing. AND YES it does work almost as good as it's OLED competitor. BUT the film used on the screens, is affected by light, and a light going in another room, creates a rainbow effect, and a repetitive and very visible pattern across the screen. So most days we can only have the lounge light going while watching anything on TV.

Gaming: I use multiple consoles in this tv and am very happy with it. The refresh rate is fantastic, and it comes with a built in GAME MODE, which comes on automatically when you start your console. The screen does jump?? every so often to refresh the pixels, but after a while I don't notice it.

LAST and this is a big last and a major flaw in the QLED range for 2019 is there is a distinctive BLUE sometimes purple "Shadow/Border" around all edges of the tv. Which can mostly be seen in the white or gray screen - google is your friend, and a quick search will show other people's examples and it seems to be evident in most if not all Q80 and Q90 models. This would be something you would expect from a cheaper edge lite panel... and sadly I think is almost unforgivable on Samsung's part for such an expensive tv. If I wasn't happy with the rest of the picture quality I would return it and get a much cheaper model.

So to sum up: Pros: Picture quality is great, Bright, Sharp. Very few artifacts/vignetting and colour banding. Almost ( I say almost) at par with OLED. There is still some light bleed from white text etc, but this is what you get if you want to avoid screen burn. Apps and Network Features are great. User friendly when adding components via HDMI Not very thick .. and comes with the heaviest stand I have ever seen on a tv. And the ONE BOX which I did not mention above is great. So much easier to access all my inputs and power. And the one thin cord in to the back of the TV is very neat. Also not mentioned is that I some some but limited control of the TV using Alexia - more of a novelty - and only really used to turn the tv off when the kids are playing up :P But I did recently go on holidays and used the Alexia routine to turn the tv on and off every day to help give the illusion that someone was home.

Cons: Blue tint border around edge of screen. Small, remote. I now mostly use an older remote from previous TVs that works perfectly fine, and comes with all the buttons I need. Lack of support for Dolby Atmos, and other Formats. This is the future Samsung. I want a tv that can play everything.... like my previous OLDER tvs.. come on - Up your game. Last is the PRICE wow.... for the lack of some audio features and the blue tint to the border $5000 is far toooooo much.

I suggest that if you can put up with a little more light bleed and a less sharper image, there are some much larger and MUCH MUCH cheaper options out there. I would give 3.5 stars if I could.

Fantastic.... If! – TV is fantastic for a well light room such as a living area. Being LED backlight this this beast can shine really bright. UI is typical Samsung and very easy to navigate. Now for the "if" part, if you watch foreign language movies or are deaf and have subtitles on, beware of the 'bloom' effect. When watching HDR content, white coloured text on a dark background is really bad on this TV. I don't watch that many shows with subtitles so this was acceptable to me. Also if you spend this much money, go all the way and professionally calibrate the colours.
