Hello my Samsung fridge model is SRS536NP and recently the light bulb popped in the socket. I replaced with a new bulb but no joy so it must be the socket that's had it... it's all black inside so it needs to be replaced. I can't for the life of me work out how to remove the socket and the manual is useless gives you no help in that department, only how to change the bulb... which is a no brainer. My question is.. does anyone know how to remove the light socket in the fridge? Have googled it but there is nothing for this model fridge on this topic, only newer models which is no help.
The door alarm on my SRS536NP has recently started to go off even when the doors are closed. I have also checked that the goods inside are pushed back away from the doors but it is still happening. Any ideas on why this is happening?

I had the same issue ice blocking the drain but heat lamp still works.
I have the same issue. It's either the defrost heater, defrost sensor or fuse. It's there a service manual available?
Same leaking issue, looked at by fridge technician, change the sensor, checked the heater and the rest all working ok but the problem came back in about 4 to 5 days. Now the repair guy is saying I need a new power board what ever that is. Is there a fuse somewhere that's gone off and causing the problems. So far I have spent about $400 and still have the same problem with the water leaks. The fridge still works well and and I don't want to replace it. Even with replacement I couldn't get one that would fit in the current space and I would need to again get a cabinet maker to extend the cabinet or fridge cavity. Samsung can't or won't help and I'm stuck with a perfect leaking fridge with no parts.
What capacity is freezer and what capacity is fridge? thanks

What year was this model manufactured SRS536NP
Ice sheet form in bottom of the freezer of Samsung SRS536 NP model. Any ideas?
Re Model SRS 536 NP/Code RS 20NASL 1-XSA. Fridge light not working globe is not the problem. Does holding assembly for the bayonet clip out to allow for testing.

My SRS536NP finally died after 11yrs of sterling service. How do I get the doors off to get it disposed of?
Haven't tried this on this model but have seen it done where you remove plastic covers off top hinges (may be screwed on) then disconnect wiring for fridge lights (possibly quick release connectors). Unscrew top hinge mechanisms then lift doors off bottom hinge mounts. Hope this helps and good luck!

What year did the Samsung srs536 fridge freezer come out?
Don't know what year it was launched in Oz but I bought mine from Bing Lee approx 11 years ago. Currently using an IKEA side by side (manufactured by Whirlpool) which has external display and a 5 year warranty which seems to be fine so far. Pricing was very competitive.
What bulb do I get to replace the one in the refrigerator?
If you can't find the manual then switch off fridge then open door and work out how to remove cover - from memory I think the cover can be removed by hand or there may be 1 or 2 screws. Take the bulb with you to the supermarket (large Woolies) or a Jaycar to find the same type. These are usually cheaper than whitegoods repair companies unless you have no other choice.
Have had the Fridge for 6 years has been great until now.
Water is running down the back of the freezer panel and pooling under the drawers and of course freezing, any idea what would be causing this, and can it be fixed.

There is a heating element in the back of the freezer for defrosting there is also a fan . The fan helps the defrosting process, but the fan becomes jammed because water freezes behind the insulation in front of the fan it expands therefore jamming the fan. This freezes the drainage pipe causing the water to pool under the drawers.
Just fixed this problem myself today....the drain hole which leads to evaporator below the freezer (behind white back panel) freezes over - we had 2-3 cm depth of ice which plugs the drain hole so during the defrost cycle excess water dribbles over the plug of ice into bottom of freezer compartment. It then melts each time the defrost cycle occurs and dribbles water to the outside of fridge. Make sure you unplug fridge before removing back panel (6 philips head screws). A hot hair dryer is handy to soften ice behind back panel so the panel comes free after some jiggling. A bit of boiling water may help de-ice the drain hole and keep an old towel in bottom of freezer to collect run off. Good luck!
Me again from above post....I retract my fix above as it is continuing to ice up and leak...have just invested in a new Whirlpool side by side from IKEA. Comes with 5 year warranty and is larger than old Samsung. IKEA price was about $500 cheaper than an equivalent model from one of the big 3 i.e. Harvey Norman, Joyce Mayne or Good Guys. Went for Energisk model at $1,299 incl 5 year warranty.
If you are interested in this repair I have a video that might help. external link One thing I have noticed is that this system has a fan that circulates the air in the freezer. There are vents right up the top and also halfway down. If you are like us, your freezer will be chock-a-block full of goodies. Just make sure that these vents are unobscured, otherwise the air can't circulate.
