Outstanding and amazing value! – 17 years on and this is an amazing fridge. I dread the day it dies. It suits our needs so well, and has been amazingly reliable. Other than the silver wearing on the handles it’s been perfect. Moved 3 times. There doesn’t appear to be any side by side fridges made as narrow as 855mm. I am NOT buying a French door fridge when the time comes. I hate them. Show details ·  1

Bought in 2005 still going strong now (2023) – This fridge freezer has never skipped a beat. runs smooth. keep things icy cold. the plastic parts that have broken with wear and tear have been easy to replace. In it's 15year, the tube for auto defrost blocked. this was easy to fix. turned fridge freezer off and waited till ice melted. took the back off the freezer (there is a you tube video… Read more ·  1

showing how to do this) then shot a syringe of hot soapy water through the pipe. fixed the problem. best fridge I've ever owned.

17 years so far – The first (and so far only) fridge I've owned myself. It still works, though a couple of the plastic pieces (eg. one of the runners for the dairy compartment) have broken. I'm defrosting it as I write this, as condensation buildup, has half filled the bottom freezer drawer with ice (!). Good chance it'll get to 25 years *touches wood*. Show details

Not a bad fridge overall – I don't know what happened to my first review? This fridge was in the house when I bought it. It has mostly been reliable but with a few temperature control issues. These have been fixed by replacing the temperature sensors which are a known problem with Samsung fridges. If you have one of these fridges and the temperature is all over the place… Read more

and/or its defrost function fails, consider replacing the relevant sensor. They are easy and cheap to buy on eBay.

Excellent Fridge – Quiet operating, easy to keep clean. Excellent temperature monitoring. Never had a problem in the five years we have had it. Great sized freezer. Holds s lot of frozen produce. Refrigerator side has many spots enough to place food and leftovers plus fruit dairy and veggies. Highly recommendable. Added ice container that flips the cubes into its own tray is an excellent bonus.  Show details

9 years old and going extremely well – Maintains a constant temperature in both fridge and freezer. Runs very quiet. We have had it now for 9 years but will be changing to a larger unit soon. A nice looking unit that is very easy to clean. Two good sized crisper drawers and two good sized freezer drawers. We have been extremely happy since the day we purchased it.  Show details

Samsung SRS 535NW – Just retired this fridge after 13 years. Worked well for the fist 9-10 years then for the last three years every six months the drain in the bottom of the freezer compartment would block with ice and water leak out. Unfortunately, this meant turning off the fridge, transferring all food to another fridge, removing the rear internal panel and… Read more

unblocking the drain with the use of a heat gun and hot water then once done replace food. Only an hour or two work but annoying having to do it every six months particularly considering had a larger drain been used in the first place this problem would probably not occur. All in all though this fridge has served well through four interstate moves over a 9-10 year period only the last three being problematic.

10 years old and no issues – My FIL bought this fridge in 2004 or 2005 and never had an issue, he gave it to us early in 2014 and we also have had no issues at all. It runs very well, its big inside and though a little narrow my biggest dish fits perfectly. here's hoping for another 10 years! :)

Beautiful, hardworking fridge – I've had mine for the last 5 years and it has been such a pleasure to work with. Never complains. So much room! Still beeps when I leave the door open too long. Never had any problems with it. Only problem was the size of the crevice in the townhouse I bought. Had to leave the poor thing in the garage and commute each time I needed something… Read more

Great for 12 months then it keeps icing up freezing my vegies – The fridge part worked well for the first 12 months then my vegetables started turning into ice blocks and lumps of ice formed around the air cooling vents while food in the upper fridge sections warmed up and went off. Solution is to chuck out the bad food, (most of what's in the fridge) and move all the frozen food out to the garage fridge then… Read more

spend a day or two defrosting the ice blocking up the vents. No joy from Samsung it's out of warranty for a well documented problem, just check the internet. I expected the unit to last a bit longer than 12 months but its now almost 4 years old and I have lost more than the cost of the unit in spoilt food in the last 3 years ! I'll be junking it soon and not buying Samsung again !

Do not buy a Samsung Fridge – Shelves cracked after 18 months of normal domestic use. Samsung would not repair. Tried to negotiate, however, fridge parts only have 6 months warranty. Shocking.

Fantastic! – I have had this fridge for a couple of months and we love it. It looks great, is very quiet and has a huge capacity for our family needs. Highly recommended. We have a number of samsung appliances and have been happy with all of them.

No real complaints, did its job – We never had any trouble with this fridge in either the fridge or freezer side. Still remained in perfect working order after 2 moves. Owned for around 7years, and the only reason I am changing is because I want a wider fridge layout. Why only 4 stars out of 5 then you ask, just personally for me I like a wider fridge layout as the fridge space is thinner than a normal fridge but deeper.

Worst company service – brand new purchase approx. 5 year ago. after approx. 11 months broke down within warranty, loosing freezer full of food. long story short... after authorised repairer comes out 3 times replacing several parts, still cannot fix fridge. having 5 children we in the mean time have to buy a brand new simpson side by side fridge, cheap thing $900. just… Read more

so we can get buy while this samsung heap of rubbish gets sorted out. Samsung would not honor warranty, reason...because they could not find the problem that caused the malfunction, it was not classed as a warrantable issue. best they could due was offer us another fridge for half price, ontop of that we still had to pay the repair man that came out 3 times for parts and labour ($400 odd) because Samsung wouldn't pay repair man, because it wasn't a warranty job??? replacement fridge still working, so is the simpson that we paid approx. $800 less.for. Samsung lost us on principle. oh yer and it took them 3 tries to get the replacement fridge sent out, 1st had warped door, then sent replacement door... (not replacement fridge ....a door) wrong colour. nil service, warranty, and something samsung couldnt even identify.

Don't recommend – This fridge was good for just over 4 years & then the freezer started to defrost. Was told it was leaking gas. Cost to repair wasn't worth it if it was repairable, if the leak was on inside walls then was unrepairable. Will not buy another Samsung, should last longer than that. Excellent – This is a great fridge / freezer with easy to set manual temp changes if you need to alter the temp. a great fridge / freezer and is a lot bigger inside than it looks. For the first time the kids can see things inside when asked to get something out. It has a great finish which would blend into just about any kitchen. A little noisy when de-icing but nothing you cannot get used to.

8 years is a VERY long time to have this fridge, consider yourself lucky if you get past 3 – Purchased in '04, worked nicely. Required repair in '07 due to a faulty freezer thermostat (coils icing up) February 2012, Fridge side stopped getting cold, 3 days after the freezer side packed it in too. Not worth getting a repair, since so many people have had trouble finding a repairer who is willing to look at it/supply parts. … Read more

Reasonable performance but not value for money – I bought this in 2005. The only reason was that the physical size fit exactly into the fridge space in my kitchen, while all other side by side fridges were too big. The retailer can deliver it in two days, plus a $100 discount on list price, so it was so perfect to buy. Be honest, it works for the first few years without any trouble, except that… Read more

on a particular hot day, say day temperature over 40 degree C, it seems not cold enough, but otherwise it performs. It is not until two years ago, it started to leak water from the freezer side. I open up the back, but nothing there, so as long as it is still cold, I kept it running, but need to clear the ice in the freezer from time to time, which is quite annoy. It stops cooling a couple of weeks ago and no more water from the freezer, now I need to take some action unless I want to buy a new one. I open up the front and find the freezing coil full of ice. I research the internet, and then ordered a new defrost sensor to replace it. It is back to normal now and hopefully be able to run for several more years, as my Zanussi purchased in 1989 still running today, I expect fridge to be able to run over 20 years. If you research the internet, this is a common problem with Samsung, and unfortunately Samsung does not take this seriously to help customer out, a lot of dealer actually don't want to attend this problem. So although the product seems to function ok, I do not recommend other to buy Samsung, not only because of the quality, it is more because of the lack of after sales service. Temper glass shelves, easy to clean, qulit roomy inside Common defrost problem difficult to fix, not cold enough during very hot day (above 40 degree)

Terrible – Would we buy Samsung products of any kind ever again, definitely not! Unless of course there is someone out there who will guarantee we get our money's worth. Fat chance. But then, you never know. not a lot - very disappointed in fact with the service and the Good Guys from whom we bought the unit. just weeks before the extra 3 yr warranty… Read more

expired the freezer began to leak and the floor was seriously dangerous with a large pool of water. It took some effort to get a serviceman who said we should turn the unit off for 24hrs, then restart. Well, need you guess, within hours of restarting the same problem. Water over the floor, leaking from the base of the freezer. Needless to say we were furious, got second serviceman to look and, to be fair, he was upset re the previous serviceman's opinion. Apparently there is a hose or tube that runs down the rear of the freezer and this was blocked. He came back with a replacement and all was well for another 2 yrs. We are now having the same problem. Are we impressed - absolutely not.

This fridge has been brilliant. Sorry to hear about the other ones – This fridge is 6 years old and has never missed a beat. Fridge got bashed around in a container when moved from NZ, suffered dents but still works beautifully. Have a house full of Samsung products and wouldn't have it any other way. Very reliable solid fridge. Great fridge.

Sydney?),that guy in charge is on holiday (what? holiday for 3 months?). Even within the warranty period, Samsung doesn't care. We kept ringing them, no one wants to help.
