Garbage – Absolute crap heap of a fridge. Ices up constantly and fan hits ice. Display doesn't work. I've had nothing but trouble with it from the get go. You'll have less trouble storing your food in a garbage bin with the occasional bag of ice.
Freezer is over freezing and fridge not cooling – Have a problem which seems quite common. Freezer is working and fridge isnt cooling. Currently the Freezer is SET to -15 degrees and the fridge set to 5 degrees HOWEVER the freezer is currently -22 degrees and the fridge is 17 degrees. This is even after defrosting it a few days ago for this reason! Would hesitate to buy another SAMSUNG again as this seems to be a common problem with them. Show details

LOVE this fridge!! – Very surprised at the bad reviews here, we’ve had this fridge for 6 years and it’s been awesome. No problems at all!! It’s quiet to run, the plumbing is great, maintains a consistent temperature in all compartments, easy to open and close, lots of space. The only thing I can think of is that the freezer could be bigger. Show details
Awesome fridge – It's quiet, has everything we need and we love it. One of the best fridges I've ever had. The ice maker and the water dispenser is why we upgraded to this fridge and they work well. The temperature is consistently cold and overall it is the best fridge we've ever owned. Show details
Don't understand the other Reviews! – This is the BEST fridge we have ever owned, for our big family of 7, it's got a huge amount of storage and the kids love the filtered, chilled water and ice! You can even choose between cubed and crushed ice! I think the people who have given it a poor rating, must be the only unhappy owners in the country out of the 1000's & 1000's, they would… Read more
have sold! (you tend to only vent on the net when you're unhappy! When you're happy, you have no reason to bother!) so I'm sure the other thousands of users, are happy like me! They only bad thing I can say about this fridge, is it has made me addicted to water! Not a bad thing I guess! Haha

Constant icing up of evaporator and ice hitting fan – Owned since new. About two years after new the fresh foodcsection stated icing up. Defrosted multiple times with hair dryer. Water drips on floor so have to watch for that. Not worth the money and the aggravation. Avoid buying Samsung. Show details
Trouble Maker – I bought this fridge from Good Guys Essendon Fields, VIC. For first couple of years, it didn't have any issue. As soon warranty expired, it started showing issues such as ice building up lower shelve on back wall inside fridge, high temperature & blockage of water dispenser. We have to defrost fridge for at least once fortnightly. Technician have… Read more
quoted me around $400 to fix this issue and no guarantee as this model has generic problem. I Am not happy with this product. If this model has this generic problem then why Samsung DIDN'T RECALL IT.

Not a great fridge. But ok – I’ve had this model for 5 yrs now. Had it for 6 months and the led panel lost a light on a letter. Samsung replaced with no problems. Then not long after warranty the panel would randomly make it dinging noises all day and night. Was out of warranty but contacted Samsung to find out the local repairer. Lucky I did because they gave me a once off… Read more
free out of warranty repair. It’s now 5 yrs and I get up this morning and there’s water all over the kitchen floor. I whip open the freezer door and some of my frozen products have slightly defrosted. Luckily I had a spare freezer I could put my full freezer load into. It was making a strange noise which it did all day and freezer wouldn’t freeze back up. I left it going to show my husband when he got home. That night the noise stopped and the freezer started up again as if nothing had happened and it started its ice manufacturing up again. Thinking it’s time to get rid of it while it’s still working. Looking at an LG this time.

Fridge to Freezer – Had this fridge around 8 years now and the last 2 years its been freezing up behind drawers. Got a quote for $300 to fix and ended up doing it myself as all it took was to defrost fridge and run hot water through cooling fan which is 6 screws behind salad drawers. Easy but an inconvenience . Although pretty annoying its lasted well and ive started running the fridge at 4 degrees to prolong the icing up which works to an extent. Cheers Show details

Terrible – Shocking Fridge. We have had ours since 2010 and have had nothing but problems. Had it repaired twice in the first two years. It has failed us multiple times resulting spoiled food. Waste of money. Never buy a Samsung Fridge! We just upgraded to a different brand. Steer Clear Everyone! Show details
Exploded!!! Such horrible experience – After 10 years of use it exploded!!! Lucky we were home and stopped a fire happening. Samsung refused a refund, only a replacement (so it can cause a second explosion?!!!) no way. Rude customer service staff at Samsung. Will not be dealing with any Samsung products ever again. Too many explosions. Show details
Absolute piece of junk! – Came home after long weekend to find it tripped the power. Switched everything back on and the compressor is not working. Bought new relay switch and motherboard. Some lights are now coming on and everything else working, but compressor is still dead. I paid $1800 plus for the fridge and since spent another $800 on it. Replacing compressor is gonna cost me $$$ yet again, so maybe just buy a new fridge and stay the hell away from Samsung.
faulty don't buy!! – I have never had so much trouble with a appliance like this one! Still have my f/f from 24 years ago still going strong(Westinghouse)! Paid$2007.00 repaired 3 times in first 2 years, now only five years old and more parts need replacing, another $400 quoted. Contacted Samsung no help and have heard nothing back from them. female gave me number… Read more

Garbage – Like so many other poor unsuspecting purchasers of a Samsung refrigerator (and not just this model), it seems that we wasted a couple of thousand dollars. Same problems as everyone else: shortly 2.5 years after buying this fridge it stopped defrosting itself automatically, leading the evaporator and internal fan to ice up and the temperature in… Read more
the fridge (particularly the top shelves) to increase to almost room temperature.
Samsung's position was that the product was outside warranty and therefore not their responsibility.
As bad as this is, why do Harvey Norman and other retailers still sell Samsung fridges when they know very well that this problem is so common?! About time they were held to account as well as Samsung.
Absolutely Crap Fridge! – We purchased this fridge November 2010 and thank goodness we also purchased a 3 year extended warranty with it. The problems started November 2014 when the fridge section went from 6 degrees Celsius to 24 during the day but the freezer was fine thank goodness. All the food in the fridge was spoiled and thrown out. Service repairer couldn't come… Read more
for a week - what the hell were we supposed to do without a fridge? So I pushed them for an earlier date which they managed to find, took a whole day off work and waited for repairer. He replaced a part in the fridge and the fridge worked fine.
January 2015, same fault, fridge part broken but freezer was ok. Food spoiled again and thrown out, not happy. Rang repairer, told me they couldn't come for a week, spoke to Manager and they came the next day, same fault, replaced part again. Fridge worked fine.
April 2015, same fault, same deal, couldn't come for a week, managed to get them to come after 4 days, getting tired of throwing food out all the time. Repairer turned up, same fault, replaced the same part again, this is now a very irritating situation and I am telling all friends and family don't buy Samsung fridges!!!
Our extended warranty company have a "no lemon" policy but you have to had 4 callouts before they would replace the fridge.
25 November 2015, 5 days left of extended warranty and fridge died yet again, this time both fridge & freezer sections - all food thrown out, very costly and extremely annoying.
Called the repairer (just about on first name basis with these people) and again, told me that it would be a week before someone could come out and assess/fix the fridge. It's currently 35 degrees Celsius here and we have no backup fridge so again, begged them to send someone out - took a day off to wait for the repairer who came and assessed it.
The problem this time was that the fridge apparently goes into defrost mode for a short time but it didn't return to normal mode.
So I am waiting to hear whether the extended warranty plan people are going to give us a cash reimbursement because I don't want a replacement! I am going to buy an LG fridge!
Loved this fridge for 7 years - until IT happened – I've had this fridge for 7 years, which I suppose is a long time for modern electronic appliances, but we expect fridges to last forever (My beer fridge is from the 60's) Pros - Crushed ice is nice, even if it's slow and gives uneven consistency. - power cool/freeze function works good if you load it up with warm stuff -… Read more
silver nano technology is excellent - that 3yr old bowl of leftovers at the back somehow doesn't stink!
-reasonably quiet, as far as fridges go anyway ( you probably don't want it next to your bed.
-doesn't leak
Cons- Water filter is expensive, and hard to find
-not overly easy to clean interior
-would occasionally get an Iceblock caught under the lever that tells the icemaker it's full (but it's empty)
All fairly minor problems compared to the fact it started doing the "wirrring fan thing" many others have experienced, and when I researched this problem I was surprised to discover it is an issue that has plagued samsung fridges for years. I pretty much wrote it off after learning this, and since I only need the freezer side which was still working, I chose to ignore it until it totally gave up.Yesterday I found the display reading 17c on fridge and 10c on freezer an thought it was time it went to god. Surprisingly everything was still frozen at the bottom, but the water has stopped (I figure it's frozen) and the ice tray was thawed, so this tells me the freezer fan has stopped now.
The one thing that made me think good on you, you stupid machine, was when I was clearing out the freezer, IT STARTS BEEPING AT ME FOR KEEPING THE DOOR OPEN!! (no warning about the fact it's not keeping temp?)
so i've switched it off, I'll update whether or not it lives on after this.
Junk – Owned fridge for almost 4 years. At least every 3 months I have to remove the rear panel from within the freezer and defrost the fan with a hair dryer to stop the bloody noise of the fan hitting the ice. Samsung have known for years of this fault on most of their fridges and do NOTHING to fix their design fault. Customer service is zero. The vegie… Read more
crisper freezes, The water line freezes, drain hole ices up. I tell all my family and friends never buy samsung.
Crap – I purchased this ref. 3 years ago November from Lowes with the extended warranty. The warranty run out Nov. 2016. in the mean time it started working again. This also happened about 6 months ago again. And again it started working a couple three days later. About 16 days ago the refrigerator section suddenly climbed to about 50 degrees causing us to loose most of the food. I called for service from the local "approved" service rep. Took them about two days to show up. Evaporator motor had failed and they had to order another one. Seven to 10 days!. It finally came in yesterday and guess what. Wrong motor. Apparently, according to service tech it could be one of four motors for that serial number. My wife thinks it will probably be out for 40 days or longer. He also told us that most of the side by side refrigerators are made at the same factory and his experience has been they will probably need replaced within about 6-7 years!!!
Love this fridge and never had a problem with it! – I'm really surprised at all the negative reviews... I have owned this fridge for five years and never had any problems with it! I'm really sorry everyone has bad experiences, but I'll put my lonely hand up and say I've had a great one !
Absolute rubbish – what a waste of money this was....would never buy any samsung product on the experience with this unit.....i had it repaired in the first few months of ownership....the service agents were rude for some unknown reason and the fridge has never worked properly
I wish I had read the reviews before buying – Except for icemaker issues it worked reasonably for 4.5 years and then the compressor seized, warranty covers parts only but Samsung want you to use their contractors at higher labour price than other qualified people, no parts readily available in Darwin, quite hopeless dealing with warranty staff with literally hours spent on phone and emails… Read more
trying to get it fixed,(not fixed yet!!), even cut off while supposed to be being transferred to supervisor, just when you think you are getting somewhere you have to start all over again. Would never buy Samsung again for that reason alone. Icemaker freezes cubes into a block which has to be smashed weekly so as to use.
Freezer is small and hard to pack, items seem to want to fall out.
Fridge like this should last 10 years or more I would have thought.
I hate this fridge – This is the worst fridge we ever bought. It is expensive and always iced up completely and stopped working every few months and i have to remove all the items and let the ice melt out before it would work again. I am buying a new fridge but refused to buy a samsung !

Samsung Quality Stinks – Fridge worked OK for 2 years, then developed problems. Had it fixed once. Worked for another 12 mths and then more problems. Repair man said it was the electronics & could not be repaired. Thank goodness we took out extended warranty. 3-4 years life for a fridge is just unacceptable. Looks good but – Have had this fridge/freezer for 4 years all i can say is thank god for extended warranties. common issue - stops cooling and fan freezes up – Needs repairs after 2 years of light usage (only 2 people use it)seems to be a common fault with this fridge...it ices up and the fan freezes preventing it from cooling. not enough shelf adjustment options. I have many other Samsung products and no issues with anything else but this fridge...never again!
fridge fan ices up – Great concept, sbs fridge/freezer, chilled filtered water, ice maker is great. Bought in late May 2010, and installed early July 2010. Shallow shelves good Good size vege bins, cheese bin could be deeper. Freezer adequate but pleased to sacrifise for ice/water dispenser. Fridge fan has iced up twice. Not Happy Samsung – Exactly 4 months out of waranty and the fridge has stopped working. The freezer works and the 2 bottom draws seem to be cold but the rest of the fridge is at 12c. I will never buy Samsung again! Shame on you Samsung! Every thing while it was in warranty. It lasted just past the warranty date. Obvious manufacturing fault. Never buy Samsung!
Samsung service/terrible:( – Looks wonderful on the outside, but inside of fridge freezes up. Our fridge has stopped working. Apparently it's a common part they need to order. I've been waiting for 3 weeks, still waiting/no word until I ring and am greeted by rude service people, then I findout part was just ordered yesterday? After 3 weeks of not being able to buy groceries. Samsung you are costing me money. The icemaker and exterior. Exceptionally bad warranty service.
Poor quality – As with Samsung products, they look very flashy on the outside. It entices you like it did with me. But after you have bought it, you just wonder what went wrong. I bought this fridge in December 2011 and since then it had nothing but problems. Firstly, there was a dent in it after I took it out of wrapping. Then 2 months later, the handle… Read more
bar came loose. Finally, the display screen went as in one of the numbers stopped displaying.
It took the repairer over 6 months to fix these problems. It took them over at least 4 weeks to order each part and fix them. And with the display panel, it took 4 attempts before Samsung had the right parts.
In return, Samsung offered me 1 year additional warranty and then sent me an email saying 6 months. I called up and they said they never offered 1 year because their system won't allow this.
All in this, just terrible service and low quality products. Never get Samsung again, always going high class. Gonna get rid of my Galaxy phone as well and switch to iPhone next time.
Looks good but shocking quality. Don't tell me I didn't warn you. Design aesthetics Quality, handle bars, display screen, service.

I would not recommend this fridge! – I bought this fridge new & it did not work from the first day I got it & I did not even know it. door alarm does not allow you to keep it open for long).
2) you have too much food in it & you are blocking the vents thats why your fridge is warm (I am single how much food can 1 person store).
All these excuses until it went out of warranty then one day the light was one but the fridge did not work & as I opened the door the smell was deadly... Called Samsung, they did not want to know about it as it went out of warranty about 1 month, as I had a record of all the calls over the period, they then stated they have a 14 day action... I went and bought a bar fridge, the extended warranty (lucky I had this) people came out, and advised me the fridge cannot be fixed... Bought a Westinghouse and it's amazing!!!!! The shelf space was big in the fridge, separate water and ice dispenser. Freezer too small, ice maker too noisy, temperature gague was faulty, went to the tip 2 years and 1 month later!
Broke Down 3 times – This fridge is now 2 years old and has already broken down 3 times. I has destroyed our timber floors and has completely defrosted each time, so it has cost us a fortune. Samsung have been very good with regard to fixing it, but 3 times in 3 years, look elsewhere. Also fridge section is too small. Great freezer section Breaks down. Small fridge section
Great value beauty – i love the fridge it not only looks great but has great storage sections and drawers in both the fridge and freezer the automatic ice dispenser works well and the fridges twin cooling system keeps it super cool whilst the in built deodoriser really keeps the fridge fresh. i love the Inox finish look , the automatic ice maker, the cooling system is… Read more · 1

Samsung service poor – Our 2 yo Samsung fridge blew a compressor in early Jan 2012. Fridge covered under extended warranty and insurance company insisted the fridge be repaired rather than replaced. Nice looking fridge/freezer. Bought one on strength of good reviews at the time – Only had this appliance installed one month, but love it - big fan of the chilled water and ice dispenser. Love that the exterior does not show fingerprints (but handles do, so take care to hold at back of handle). Also, always hold handle in the middle, otherwise if you hold at the top, the handle will come off (but clicked back on ok). I like… Read more · 1
the shallow shelves so that food does not get forgotten about at the back of the fridge. I think Samsung should have designed the egg tray better - currently the egg rack gets lost in a deep shelf on back of door, so am keeping eggs inside fridge, which is not good. There is room for them to have installed an extra shallow tray on back of door specifically for eggs. So far that is my only complaint. Easy to maintain efficient turnover of food, as it is clearly visible on shallow shelves. Bad design of the egg rack on the rear of the fridge door - needs extra shallow shelf for easy use.
It works – It works well, even temperature, reliable water and ice function. Good fruit and vege storage. No services required and easy to keep clean. Love the water and ice function, saves opening the door every time you want a cold drink. Exterior surface does not show finger marks at all, needs cleaning less than my old white fridge.
