My son's Samsung Tab Lite bought in September 2020 has died.He was using it and it stopped working .We tried restarting it but it I won't do anything so it must be the battery.Iwant to know if can be fixed and who do we contact.

I'm no expert but here's what I'd do. I'd plug it in to charge and leave it charging even if it doesn't display anything at first. I'd suggest keeping an eye on it and maybe charging it away from flammables, probably overly cautious but I feel it's worth mentioning in the off chance the battery does fault.

Also confirm both the cable and the AC to USB charging brick work (possibly by testing another device on it) or use a different cable and brick that you know works.

Try turning it on using the power button (the single one near the volume button) after letting it charge for a good few hours. If that doesn't work, just in case it's still on but has a black screen press and hold the Power button and the volume down button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds and see if the device reboots properly.

Failing all of that best course imo is the place you bought it from. You're experience may vary though, if it's Jbhifi they're usually really good with returns, if it's an online retailer like Kogan sometimes it may require a bit of chasing up with them. There's also Samsung Australia, if you go to their site they will have options to contact them. external link  I personally prefer to get as much as possible in writing, so opt for the email or live chat options (and save the conversation), especially if I don't have any luck over the phone.

If it's a parallel import (aka not an Australian model of tablet) it makes it a bit more difficult, you best point in that case is definitely the retailer (the store).

Proof of purchase is usually required, if online you'll usually have an email with those details, if it's in store than you either have a receipt (best) or at least bank account statement with the purchase on it, which the store can then use to look up to confirm the details.

If it's out of warranty and you believe that it isn't covered under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) then you could look at getting the battery replaced by a Samsung authorised repair centre or a third party if the battery is indeed the problem, they might also be able to diagnose the problem for you too. There's a chance that the cost might not be worth it for you.

Thank you for you reply but I'm embarrassed to say that I just didn't hold the button for long enough when trying to turn it back on.

Had the Samsung Galaxy tabS6 Lite a short time and now it is in a reboot mode every 2 minutes. What is the fix?

I'd lean towards a warranty claim if that's happening. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try a factory reset first before then though.

Does anyone know how to get the s6 lite to auto connect to wifi without having to reset the router? Every time the tablet is switched off or restarted it tries to connect but an error message shows can't find IP address. The tablet is only 3 weeks old. I have spent hours on the Samsung chat help who couldn't help. We have no problems with any other device including a Samsung phone, a Nokia phone and an iPad. At the moment the s6 lite is an expensive paper weight. Very disappointed in Samsung.

Bit of a hacky fix but you could try to set a static IP address on the tablet. For example if your IP range is 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255, making it set to 192.168.1.100 might solve it, for a home network I'd go higher than 40 regardless to hopefully avoid the chances of a clash. It's a strange issue but sounds like tablet is having issues getting an IP from your router.
