1 Tae  · Awful experience – Staggeringly terrible customer service, over and again. Shame they've got such a share of the market, not deserved.

Had Santa photos taken at Lone Pine Tavern in Rooty Hill 21/12/25. Only one photo had all the heads in the party included and only just. When my son in law pointed this out they did not retake them and printed them as is. I had to throw them out. My son in law complained and they promised a refund. This also did not happen. I'm incredulous they… Read more

After weeks of chasing a refund, endless back-and-forth emails, and zero resolution, this company has shown nothing but sheer incompetence. Instead of properly reviewing my case, they forwarded me photos of another family and wrongfully accused me of receiving a service that was never delivered. This is not only unprofessional — it is completely… Read more

unacceptable and a serious breach of basic customer service standards.

After all that, I was sent a generic copy-and-paste response acknowledging my “frustration” with no accountability, no investigation outcome, and no refund.

This experience has been embarrassing, dismissive, and incredibly frustrating. If you value transparency, accountability, and respectful treatment as a customer, think twice before booking.

SHAMEFUL.

Poor Customer Service Experience with Scene To Believe I recently had a frustrating experience with Scene To Believe, and I'm concerned about how this company treats customers despite their dominant position in the ANZ shopping mall Christmas photo market. We booked a session on the $49.95 plan ($52.3 with payment fee), which was advertised as… Read more

including both physical and digital photos. The initial photo session went smoothly, but problems arose when we went to select our pictures. We were told we could only download one digital photo - despite paying for digital access. We were unprepared for this situation and started to decide which photo to keep, staff offered us an additional $10 to download all photos. We agreed and happy to pay, but the promised digital photos still weren't available. After an hour, we received a download email, but we still could only access one photo. When we returned to the mall the next day, the same staff member who upsold us said there was nothing she could do and directed us to contact support.

Unresponsive Support Process We emailed support and received an automatic reply promising a response within 24 hours. Two days passed with no reply. We then tracked down their phone number and called, only to wait over an hour in a queue on Christmas Eve before we could speak with anyone (and we were only fifth in line). Desperate for a resolution, I messaged Scene To Believe on Facebook. While their marketing team did respond, they asked me to post my personal details publicly. When I requested a private message instead, they ignored the request - and private messaging wasn't available on their page anyway.

The Bigger Picture This company operates over 1,500 staff across a monopoly business and earns millions, if not tens of millions, during the Christmas photo season. Yet they can't be bothered to honour the digital photo downloads customers paid extra for. It feels less like an oversight and more like they simply don't care. That level of indifference, combined with their market dominance, is deeply frustrating.

*Remarks: I posted this review on Christmas Eve, after waiting for over an hour on the support queue, I hung the call as I don't think support staff was actually working. I didn't have more time to waste on Christmas Eve!

Scene to Believe Bayside VIC absolutely incredible! – I’m not sure what locations were used for all the other negative reviews but Scene to Believe in Bayside Shopping Centre, Frankston VIC in December 2024 were absolutely fabulous. I couldn’t recommend them more highly! This is the first time I’ve ever had Christmas photos taken as I have a selectively dog reactive golden retriever but Santa and his… Read more

Impossible to cancel! – Booked in a session as late as possible for next Tuesday but had another children's event pop up so had to cancel the Santa photos booking I had made. Not only was I going to be charged 10% to cancel the booking 4 days out, there was no actual way to cancel the booking!! I tried the cancel button on the email and on the website. They all took me… Read more

through to the reschedule page! I do not want to reschedule I want to cancel and get a refund of the payment I have made. I attempted to go to the FAQS which under the heading "how do I cancel my booking?" It only provides details of how to reschedule!!!

I have now contacted your customer support line and been on hold for 35+ minutes as I type this.

I am extremely unhappy that it is this difficult to cancel a session and buy beware there is ZERO customer service!

Santa at Coomera Westfield was fantastic with our little one who was quite scared to have her photo taken with Santa. He was very kind and she quickly warmed up to him. Excellent photographer. Website is terrible though, can't download my photos, site keeps glitching.

We had a terrible experience with our Santa photos at Revesby Workers Club and until now every time my 6-year-old sees our Santa photo, he says “That lady there was so rude!”. One of the workers was incredibly rude to us even though it was 40+ minutes after our scheduled booking, the photos then took forever to print and look weirdly altered, and… Read more

Terrible service at Warringah Mall. The guy running the set up was awful. Zero customer service / people skills. I paid for an extra 6 digital photos but when I didn’t get them online, he said I needed to leave (without what I paid for) and call customer service to try and fix. Ahhhh no thank you. If I could, I’d give a negative rating. They completely ruined our plans. When we tried to explain, the manager was rude and threatened to call security instead of resolving the issue. Absolutely pathetic customer service.

Absolute joke. Last year and this year we booked in a time and had to wait ages. We’re told that we would be out to the top of the queue at our booked time. Didn’t happen. Disgusting making little kids wait. Why not do less sessions and longer times so this stops happening. Costs enough without having to wait over half an hour past your booking time.

We were booked for Santa photos on 13/12/2025 (at Rouse Hill). They were running over 45 minutes behind. I tried to contact them on the day, 6 days later and still… Read more

waiting for a return phone call. I submitted an enquiry on their website and received a generic 'refunds will be subjected to a cancellation fee' response. Mind you trying to find a contact phone number was like finding a needle in a haystack. Very dissapointed given Santa photos are meant ot be a fun experience for the kids, yet another event that's just a money grab with zero regard for customers.

If you are looking for Santa, graduation, or event photos, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. care. When we asked for a reprint to fix their mistake, they refused because my partner didn't have the physical original with her to "exchange." This is a custom product of our faces, it’s not like they can put it back on a shelf. Their "policy" and the employee's total lack of interest ruined a Christmas gift for us. Save your money and find a company that actually looks at the screen while they work.

Scene to Believe hire dog abusers! If I could rate minus stars I would. I took my dog to Craigieburn Central for a pet photo session with my 13yo daughter. When we first arrived we saw the lady from Scence to Believe checking the bookings and organising the queue, she was yelling at another dog. My dog started pulling on the lead because he got… Read more

excited when he saw all the other dogs and probably thought he was at a socialisation event. Given a minute to adjust, he would have settled down. The lady immediately came storming over and started yelling at my dog “sit, sit down, you sit down”. My dog got scared because he gets scared of people when they yell and tried pulling on the lead backwards to get away from her. She kept yelling “look, look at me, you look at me, sit, sit down, you sit down”. At one point he was sitting but she still kept yelling “sit, sit, sit” so then he’s confused as to what she wanted. I said several times he is sitting already but she didn’t want to hear me. The nice couple next to me came over and the man said if she yells like that again at your dog, I’ll be yelling at her. Anyway we moved up a few spots inside and my dog was behaving. At one point my dog was standing nicely next to me and I was patting him on the top of his head. The lady comes storming over just because he was standing instead of sitting and starts yelling again. She grabbed my dog around the neck with both hands cupping his head in a head lock position and lifted him so his front feet were off the ground and screamed in his face. When she let him go, he was trying to scramble behind me to hide behind my legs but the lady kept on yelling at him and trying to push his back end down to make him sit. She then said “ if your dog doesn’t sit, I will kick you out”. After that we were called into the Santa booth. Santa was nice and gave him a pat on the head as my daughter sat down. I asked my dog to sit and he did, the girls taking the photo said how lovely he was and when they were ready, I told my dog to look and he did, no problem. The lady at the counter also complimented my dog and said it will be a few minutes to print out the photos so I moved a few paces away from the counter to make room for others. The nasty lady appears again and without warning grabs the dog lead in the middle and drags me and my dog over to the counter. When the other lady tells her the photos aren’t ready yet, she again drags us back to spot we were before. When the photos were ready , we could not get out of there fast enough. It seems there is no way to contact this company. The live chat just said to contact the police. The email system has a glitch when you enter the date so it won’t send the message and every phone number that I have found for this company is either the wrong number or disconnected. I contacted management at Craigieburn central and explained to them and they said they would give my details to Scene to Believe and ask them to contact me but know one has. I rang Craigieburn central security for video evidence but I must obtain this through the police. Police say it’s not a criminal matter so I can’t have the security tape. Now contemplating getting in touch with RSPCA. So thanks for the magical experience Scene to Believe! Leaving me angry, abusing my dog physically and emotionally and upsetting my daughter. This sure will be a lasting memory.

Awful – Santa appeared to be under the influence. Hardly spoke a word. Didn’t ask my children what they wanted for Christmas. Had to be promoted by the photographer to give them the little booklets. Rushed experience, average outputs, poor website UX – Queens Plaza David Jones Brisbane Christmas. Very rushed, just pumping out photos, not a nice visit to Santa. experience I selected a smiley, it then only gave me a button saying skip for now. When choosing my images to download I had to reload the page more than 5 times because at least on my iPhone I couldn’t deselect an image. Downloading the images I had to expand the list every time. Chat with support was easy to get to a human agent but then the chat became almost unusable as a jumble of previous text appeared in the typing box, and I could not see what I was typing for a new message.

I bought the premium package and especially with the bookmarks and gift tags especially I did not expect to have to cut out myself from bigger photo sheets.

Based on their lack of communication I wasn't willing to do that. Fortunately a girl by the name of Izzy stepped in and actually tried to help, calling her manager. I was told someone would be in touch. It's now the 23rd December and nothing! So very disappointing to be messed around for something so important. I explained to them time and time again, the importance as my mother is elderly and unwell and we wanted this family photo for Christmas.
