Instead of turning my hair chocolate brown, it turned the roots orange! Terrible product, the end result was nothing like advertised even when I followed the instructions exactly and had a compatible starting hair colour. Do not buy!

Waste of time & money – I used this product for years and was always really happy with it. Then Mahogany wasn't available anymore, so I stopped and used a different product. Recently bought Chocolate and it was a waste of time and money. Did nothing at all and was super messy to use, as way to liquid. Dripped everywhere! Certainly not buying these again. Show details

Horrific outcome! – Saw some of these reviews and honestly thought they must have form something wrong. My roots were exceptionally grey (I'm only 33) and wanted to do a semi over them to freshen my look before my next hair appointment. Luckily I used this early in the day and it gave me to time to race to price attack after to fix it! It turned my roots orange! Like… Read more

bright orange! The hair dresser at price attack said even though it's a semi it still lifts and grey really needs permanent to cover.

I will NEVER use this product again! Chemist warehouse needs to remove it from their shelves.

Either doesn’t work or makes your hair bright yellow! – I tried both the old and new formulas at different times, both on my natural hair. I followed the instructions perfectly and left it on for 30 minutes for the most vibrant result. The old formula didn’t work at all, at most my hair has an awful orange tint to it now. While the new formula turned my hair bright yellow, like simpsons yellow! It was… Read more

terrible. It’s terrible, I genuinely don’t recommend you buy this product and if you have, get a refund!

Very disappointing colour result – I've been using Napro Live Colour for over twenty years (sachet form), previously very happy with the colours Natural Brown, Dark Brown and Chocolate. Result with the new tube of 'Chocolate' is beyond disappointing. Not even close to chocolate brown but rather very orange toned in the tube and on the hair. Much regret stocking up before checking new result, after assuming it would be the same great product as in the past.

Disappointing result – I have previously used this product ( In the sachet type packaging), with good results, but this newer version (in the plastic squeeze pack) is just horrible. I have medium/light brown hair with some grey, I used this product to refresh and slightly darken my existing tone. I followed all instructions , but was very disappointed with the results.… Read more

Instead of an overall brown tone that I hoped to achieve, the result was an unsightly light yellow/orange tone at the roots with no brown colour at all. Far from desired result, not happy.

Changed formula with brassy gold undertones – I won't be buying Schwarzkopf again. They recently repackaged their live product and stated they have not changed their formulas. I couldn't get the colour chocolate (I've been using this for years) and instead purchased dark brown, which I was told would provide a similar result. Result: yellow all over my gloves and through my hair! Definitely not dark brown and not like the picture on the pack that looks like chocolate. Avoid. Show details

The colour came out bright yellow on my hair, I’m normally a dark blonde and wanted to try going darker – I personally don’t recommend this hair colour, I’ve used this product before and never had this happen but it has turned yellow and my greys fluro yellow. I hope it washes out! Show details

Turns hair yellow – I have used Live colour for ages. The sachet colours were accurate. But since they have changed packaging it is clear they have also changed the formula as this product now turns hair brassy/red/orange/yellow. Can't use it again. Show details

Turned medium brown hair bright orange – Used the chocolate (very dark brown) 8 washes colour on medium brown, never dyed hair - it turned out bright orange!! Looks absolutely dreadful, won’t wash out. How it lightened my hair when it was meant to be almost black is beyond me. Never buying this brand again! Show details

Made hair yellow – I used to have medium to dark blonde hair and I wanted to go quite dark so I selected the chocolate hair dye. My hair went yellow. After one wash it has started to look ok but because it didn’t reach my expectations, I had to buy a different hair dye. (Just after washing colour out - left. Next day dry - right) Show details

Terrible! – This dye was horrendous. I had very light mousy brown roots and a faded red on the ends. The roots turned a bright yellow lighter than my original colour and there was minimal if any change in colour to the ends. It has also completely destroyed my hair, resulting in a lot of breakage at the top which is so disappointing because I specifically… Read more

chose this instead of permanent dye so there would be less permanent damage to my hair. I don't know how this was approved for sale.

Changed formula turns out neon yellow – I’ve been using the sachets for years but they’ve changed the formula as they’ve changed packaging. It now turns out bright yellow on fair hairs so you end up highlighting greys even more. Found some old sachets in cupboard and they darkened the hair back to the original chocolate brown colour. Can’t imagine how this passed any quality control. I’d advise you to look elsewhere for temporary colour unless you like bright yellow effects :/ Show details

Very disappointed with this product – Selected the chocolate brown for my brown hair but the colour came out black. My hair has also become extremely dry and brittle and I am seeing excess hair breakage. I would not recommend this product Show details

Natural brown – I used the natural brown shade (not given as an option for review) I purchased as a temporary cover for the grey while unable to visit the salon during COVID-19 restrictions. I used 2 packs left on for just over 1/2 hr. I have long just below the shoulder length hair. I’m very happy with the results at this stage. Would definitely purchase again between salon colours. Show details

Terrible.. won't recommend anyone to use it – It didn't change my hair colour neither it covered my grey coverage. The worst part was that I had very very bad skin allergic reaction on my whole face and neck . Very dangerous to use this product. Stay away from this hair colour

Worst product – Worst hair dye I have ever used. I have dark blonde hair dyed it and it went orange! If you want your hair to be orange go for it. Highly do not recommend this product!

Cheap, fun, poor quality – If you're after a temporary colour change (eg. party) and aren't fussy about product quality this is the product for you. my daughter's shiny natural blonde hair was turned to horrible brown dull straw from the Chocolate shade. No amount of quality conditioner got her hair shiny. Yes she wanted to see what she looked like with dark hair. it took… Read more

her hair a loooong time to get healthy again. The hairdresser had a fit when I told her what product we'd used. Personally, I do not recommend this product at all.
