Orange. Natural orange. My hair is usually a medium brown, slightly cool. This colour turned it orange. Under light I have a tangerine halo. Do not use if your hair is even slightly cool toned. It’s like a bad take tan for your hair. Show details
Horrible experience with previously good product – Have used Schwarzkopf Live Colour for decades. The sachets never failed. Recently, I stocked up on the Live Colour Natural Brown tubes. What a disaster! Went to squirt part of the contents into my gloved hand as previously. Shocked to see the previously thick product had the consistency of water! It went everywhere! Plastered what I could onto my… Read more
head. Ended up with greenish yellow hair and scalp. Was colouring my hair for a special event, so a disaster. Raced out and bought purple shampoo. Took several attempts to get rid of the horrible colour! What on Earth did Schwarzkopf do to this previously good product???
Summer Brunette – Be suspicious of these reviews and follow the included instructions. Some contradictory comments have been made such as turning hair green and others saying tumeric/orange. I washed my hair with shampoo, then applied colour leaving in for 20 mins, avoiding roots. My hair before was a mix of dark blonde and light brown with red pigmentation, so… Read more
therfore I was concerned with the possible final result. My hair achieved the exact colour example pictured on the top of the box. I am now under the impression hair dressers are writing these bad reviews because they are threatened and cannot compete.
Okay if you wanted yellow hair – I regret not reading the reviews before buying. I literally just came to check other people's experience to be sure I didn't have a bad batch or something. It didn't look too bad coming out of the tube but it came out almost like I'd imagine it would look if you used tumeric as a hair dye. I can't imagine who or what colour this would work for. Hair turned green – This should not be allowed to be sold. I dyed my hair part, its ment to be brown it turned green, most reviews say the same thing. Shame on you Schwarzkopf Show details
SCHWARZKOPF ... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? – I have used this colour for years and years without any problems. It always coloured my hair perfectly with complete satisfaction. I could absolutely rely on it to work. I wanted a "freshen up" so bought it again. This time, it was in a tube (used to be in a sachet) and it was also a lot runnier than before (even when I shook it for a few… Read more
minutes). Applying it was trickier as it wasn't as thick as it once was, and when I washed it out, my hair had turned an awful orange/yellow. I have no idea who is in charge of product development, but this is a MASSIVE fail. Please go back to the original formula and sachet style. You're doing irreparable damage to your reputation if you continue with this product.
The negative reviews are all true! Turns your hair yellow/orange – Horrible hair colour. Thank god I didn't keep the hair colour in any longer than 5 minutes. I already noticed whilst I was applying the hair dye, that it was not a natural brown colour. The dye was yellow/orange against my hairline, so I freaked out washed it out. But even then it's still turned my hair orange. Worst hair colour ever - do not purchase this product! Show details
Hijacked my silver fox conversion – I have 2 very prominent streaks that punch through to my hairline and will eventually be face framing. I was looking for a semi-permanent colour while I was letting the grey grow out for 6-12mths so that the greys can go from 2 small white patches into decent streaks. I opened the tube and did a test strand somewhere less conspicuous. Small test… Read more
patch didn't look weird/bad so I dyed my hair as per the packet instructions. In my case I went from silvery white patches to patches the colour of *urine*. The colour is so bad I will be buying clarifying shampoo to get rid of the colour asap. Using coloured touchup hairspray does cover it but with a caveat. Thankfully I had the spray on hand anyway to cover my mistake so I didn't have to go out in public like that. Hot tip- the following day some of the spray rubs off on ones pillow and the net result is an unattractive army green highlight especially obvious in office lighting, so daily touch ups are required. Thanks for creating some extra life admin, I don't think I am game to try any of the other brown colours in this product range.
Great if you want bright yellow hair! – I had bought product before I read the reviews. It states can be used on grey hair, in my case roots only, it does not seem to distinguish it is yellow. So to be fair I did it again , also because I had to do something. It is even more yellow. So if this is not your desired shade avoid. Show details
A MESS! – I thought I would give my hair a bit of a lift and thought this product would just give me a bit of shine. My hair is natural darkest brown with a bit of grey. Unfortunately all the grey went bright neon yellow....an expensive trip to my shocked hairdresser who thought I was exaggerating about the yellow. Show details
Yellow hair – Used this for many years but since change my hair turned yellow Why change something to make it unbuyable? I have tried different versions of the new product. Will you rethink your decision to change? Show details
Wish I’d read reviews first! – I’ve always used permanent colors but I’m booked in for a pro colour in a couple of weeks so just wanted something to touch up the greys. This product turned my grey roots a weird bright orange/green colour! Will never use again nor would I recommend it to anyone! I wish I had taken a photo but have immediately put a different colour in (back to my old permanent brand). Show details
READ THIS PLEASE – do NOT get this hair dye in 12 wash natural brown. it literally turned my hair bright orange/yellow. honestly who knows what the other colours will do to the hair. Show details

No brown, but bright brassy gold – I've used Hazelnut for years very happily, but wanted to go a little darker. Mixed Natural Brown and Chocolate, and it became bright brassy gold - the opposite of what I wanted. Really, really disappointed. Show details
Wish I'd read the reviews before I used it – There is no natural brown in this product. My grey hairs have turned orange, embarrassing. Wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing. I will never buy this product again. Thank goodness it is semi permanent and will eventually wash out. Show details
Dreadful! It made my greys a golden bronze! – I have used this before and always been satified. It was a good touch up product. I assume Schwarzkopf have changed something along the way and it is now such a disappointment. My roots are all a bronze gold colour. Since I should wait for a while to redye it looks like I will be spraying it brown for Christmas.... :( I don't normally write reviews but don't want others to get caught out with this product. Wont be using this product again. Show details
Great colour shame about the new packaging! – The hair dye is great and I’ve been using it for over 15 years. What a terrible shame, however, that it’s changed from foil sachets to eco toxic one-use plastic packaging especially as we are all so aware of the negative environmental impacts of plastics.
Turning my hair Yellowy – I wanted my hair to turn out a little darker than my dark blond but it gave my hair a yellow greenish hue and instead of blending in grey hairs they turned out bright shining yellow. I will not use this color again. Show details
Very disappointed with the new product! – I agree with other customers. I have used this product for years, Natural Brown, and have been very happy with the results. The new product is awful! I wouldn't have minded paying extra for the new packaging if it was the original formula, but it's been changed, and now instead of having a lovely brown shade in my hair, it has turned into a… Read more
yellowy bronze colour - not at all "natural". Luckily, I still have a few of the original sachets, but when I have used them up, I will be looking for a new product. Please bring the original formula back!
Very disappointing! – This stuff changes grey hair patches to yellow tones and brown areas to rust! It is rather unnatural looking and it has taken loads of washing to get rid of it out of my hair. Show details
Horrible. Formula change ruined a previously great product – Have used this colour in the past with great results. This time round it barely made any difference (natural dark ash blond hair) other than to impart a revolting brassy yellow glow to my hair. Why change a fantastic product? No point making it a tub with extra product instead of a sachet if you also change the product and that new product is… Read more
total crap.
Don't waste your money.
This stuff WAS brilliant until they put it into the new tube form. Now it's awful.
Why change a great product? So frustrating. Avoid this stuff unless u want hideous hair.
Why Change it?????? – I have used this colour as an inbetween salon colour for many years and been really happy with it however since it has changed into the tube the results just are not the same. My regrowth ended up greenish yellow this has never happened before. Why did they change it is very annoying, now looking for another option as the ones i have bought are in the bin. Show details

This product is terrible – I bought a nice natural brown hair dye and I put it in my hair and followed the instructions and it turned my hair orange, this product is terrible don’t buy it!! Show details
Love it so much – The colour is very vibrant and definitely worked. I have been other colours in the past and I've loved every single one. Please keep in mind this is my personal opinion. Thanks for reading. Show details
Very Disappointed – I am a dark haired blonde, this product made no difference to my hair other than giving it an orange tint on the cow lick parts of my hair. Quite upset with this product.
Good to Revamp Color – If you want something simple to revamp a dye job in between visits, this stuff is really good as it adds color to the hair without extra damage (and cuts down on costs). I've used it straight and it looks very natural, and even covers grey. I've also used it mixed to get the right shade match when I've had different tones (have mixed blue with… Read more
brown to get an ash, mixed red and brown to get mahogany when it wasn't available).
Note: It does stain if hair is porous from bleaching or dying or in bad condition (but then, that's what I want). If you want NO staining possibilities at all, I'd use a spray or chalk instead.
Easiest to use with gloves and a brush. Stains on skin come of pretty easily.
Very pleasantly surprised – I have a few grey hairs which have formed a sort of "wing" shape on the top of my head, near my part, so the grey is very obvious! I was unable to get to my hairdresser and didn't want to try a supermarket permanent colour, so thought I'd give this a go to cover the greys. I purchased the product (Natural Brown) without realising it claims that… Read more
t won't cover grey hair (didn't read that bit till I got home.) Well, I was desperate and figured that a temporary, 8 wash colour rinse couldn't do any harm, so I applied it. Then after about 7 minutes I started worrying that the grey would perhaps turn brassy orange, so I panicked and rinsed it out immediately. I honestly couldn't be happier with the result. My grey wing was gone and was replaced by a very natural looking light brown - no brassiness or grey peeking through at all. I've since washed my hair every day (8 washes) and the colour is only now starting to fade, with a tiny bit of grey peeking through. I am extremely tempted to forgo my hairdresser and keep the greys at bay with this product. The only thing I don't like is the vague timing, i.e. leave on for 5-30 minutes. I had the desired result after 8 minutes, but cannot imagine what the colour would have been like after 30 minutes. I will say, that my hair takes colour very readily, sucks it right up. Perhaps this is why this product worked so well for me.
