Doesn't tone brassy hair – Had brassy ends and grey hair. The toner left on brassy ends for 30 mins - no difference. The toner left on grey for 5 mins - purple. I think this is fine for yellow blonde hair but that's about it.

My brassy hair turned out great – I didn't realise it was a purple toner until I opened the box, I thought it would actually be a silver colour. So I was hesitant to use, as usually purple toner shampoo etc usually do nothing to my brassy hair or make it purple if I leave it on too long. came out a much lighter/silver toned blonde which is amazing considering this is not a hair lightner.

There was only a few very light purple tones in my old bleach blonde bits that I'm sure will come out in my next wash, I wash my hair every 2nd day.

And I definitely had to use a conditioner after rinsing out the toner, as my hair was quite dry afterwards, but I do have very fine hair.

I have long fine hair so only needed to use 1 box.

I will definitely use again, hopefully in 2 weeks if it lasts that long.

Very disappointing – I tried this as I was under time pressure and just wanted to tone out the brassy bits and freshen my hair colour. Although the toner worked a little on the coloured (blonded) sections of my hair, it turned the grey (uncoloured) sections purple. I then had to rush to a professional hairdresser to have the purple fixed as I had engagements coming up. I would avoid Live and have your hair toned at a trusted hairdresser. Works well on brassiness – I got tired of paying a fortune for my hairdresser to tone my hair when I get my highlights and regrowth done, so I used this on my hair the day before my appointment to reduce the cost. a conditioner though, my hair felt like straw after washing and drying. The instructions say you don’t need to condition afterwards, but I had to add some conditioning sprays and oils to make it soft again. Next time I will add some conditioner to my hair before I rinse out. I’m guessing this isn’t suited to freshly bleached, pale blonde or white hair from reading the bad reviews, but it’s great for medium blonde hair if you want to tone. Highly recommended!

Inlove with the results – Ive tried so many products to get rid of the yellow/gold in my hair after bleaching at home and this is the only product that worked magic! I only had it in for 20 mins and it canceled all the nasty yellow tones. Definitely recommend Show details

Purple hair – During lockdown I have occasionally used used a rinse to tone down the yellow in my hair. Some have been better than others. LIVE Silver Toner was available so I tried it and the purple of the shampoo didn't wash off in my hair so I am stuck with light purple where the grey is. Exactly the result I wanted – I had blonde highlights professionally applied to my medium brown hair that turned very brassy. In sunlight they were bright red. my plain brown roots and the highlights are now very subtle and definitely ashy rather than red in tone.

Super easy to apply, not too messy, didn't stain my skin. Not moisturising, you will need to apply conditioner afterwards. Unfortunately some of the colour appeared to wash out when I rinsed out my conditioner but the end result was still there. When dried, my hair felt as soft as it normally does.

Will definitely repurchase to keep toning down the red as I grow it out.

It turned my hair patchy purple too! – I needed to use 2 packets on my shoulder length blonde/grey hair. I left it on for the full 30 minutes and got a big shock when I saw that my hair had come out a mauve/lilac colour. I love this product!!!! – I use both rose gold or lilac blush alternatively. I have bleached foils in my hair and I mix it with my conditioner and don't leave it in for any length of time. Show details

Best value toner in every store – Get a few if you have long hair. And put through a conditioning treatment afterwards. But all round a decent result for a cheap product

Very Impressed – I few weeks ago I dyed my hair a nordic blonde colour which was a disaster. Way way too brassy…awful! Since then I’ve used two toner shampoos with disappointing results. Last week I did some research on Schwarzkopf Live Silver Toner reviews on "Product Review". The reviews seemed to be very positive and I decided to give it a go and boy am I pleased. Gone is the brassiness after 1 sachet left on for 15 mins. Thrilled !!!

Absolutely spot on – I dye my own hair with bleach and peroxide mainly using 20 vol and blue bleach. I’ve trued countless salon pro toners with 10 vol not only do they damage my hair further but the colour washes out immediately. This stuff WORKS. conditioned. Absolutely spot on. Wish it came it big bottles. Always buy in bulk when on sale!! Even when my dark roots come up yellow this stuff makes it toned perfectly. I can’t rate it highly enough. I leave on for at least 40 minutes.

OMG! Can’t rate this enough! – I have recently bleached my hair from a level 4 (dark brown) to a level 8 (yellow blonde - raw). I did most of it myself and went to the hairdresser to get her to clean up the colour and chop off my fried ends. A week later my hair was throwing a very yellow shade. colour silver toner and researched it to death online. Saw mainly good reviews so thought I’d give it a go. I have a long bob but my hair is very porous at the moment so I bought 5 packs and it was just enough. I left it on for about an hour because I wanted the full effect. I was pleasantly surprised when I washed it off. Not much of the toner ran and I was left with gorgeous silvery blonde on the lighter parts and an ash blonde on my darker hair. All the brassiness was gone.

The only downside is that it doesn’t condition very well so I used Muk Deep Conditioner for about 5 minutes. Massaged in a palm sized amount from roots to ends and combed it through with a wide toothed comb. When I rinsed it off no colour ran.

I’m so happy with the result. The toner was on special when I got it so it cost me $20 for 5 packs. Which I was happy to pay to get the result I got. I’ve only just put it on so not sure yet how well it’ll last being a semi. But so far I’m thrilled!

toner out. The result was very natural, shiny and healthy looking, with all brassiness neutralised. At this stage it's only day 1 so I can't say how long it lasts but I will definitely use again.

Quick fix! – This toner is great, but I had to use a lot to get the desired affect. I left it on for about 45 mins to tone my hair from yellow blonde to ashy blonde. I'd highly recommend it for people who are rushed, especially if you want to avoid splashing out on getting a colour just a couple of weeks more. So affordable!
