Hardly worked – My hair typically takes hair color well and this was the first time dye barely deposited. It left a bit of a gray cast with slight purple Show details
False advertising – I coloured my daughters here, which is blonde down the bottom the colour barely took, I followed the instructions. Don’t bother with this product
It is an essential part of my wardrobe – I have use Magnetic Purple for 8 years. I am 88 years old. It last for me as a strong colour for the first two weeks and fades out very prettily over the next 4 weeks I receive constant complimentary comments on the lovely colour. I am finding it hard to get lately. I have Psoriasis and from time to time I have to treat my scalp. If I try to put… Read more
the colour on after the first wash after treatment I get an awful colour so I do a second wash before I apply it seems some chemical residue causes this so if you are using other things before use it will effect the colour. I have also found using "Justice" Perfect violet hair mask instead of a conditioner helps retain the sheen and depth of colour. Yes the hair dye is thick ,you can thin it with a little water just as the hairdressers do . Another trick I find works is ,don't wash your hair in hot water, tepid at the most it helps retain the colour longer. bit had in winter I know. I love this product I hope it stays around for many years yet. regarding stains I use mentholated spirits to wipe it off basin etc; and it washes out very easy in the wash from my towel in my regular wash. I wash my hair twice a week. I would place a photo but i don't know how to do that from my apps
Only worked once! – I have shoulder length naturally thin, straight and dark brown hair, with blonde highlights that bring my hair up to a very light brown or dark blonde. First time I used this dye it was incredible! The results were gorgeous, and although we diluted the dye with conditioner, it still came out vibrant and very very purple. A few weeks after I then… Read more
tried the Rebel Raspberry colour, same brand, and it worked even better, very vibrant. Now here is where things get bad, about 2 weeks later I try dying my hair with Magnetic Purple again, and oddly it just washed out of my hair. I did exactly how I did it the first time, so I was very upset, surprised and confused. Tried it again, just a few hours ago with 2 undiluted packets of Magnetic Purple, this time it barely tinted my hair, and washed out the same as last time. What is happening? If anyone knows what is going on, please tell me, or share your own experience with me, I am very curious to know why this is happening. Thank you!
I was very disappointed today the 2nd of jan 2019.i brought 6 x packets of electric blue and magnet – No i left my pin for 40 mins and it's still brown color when i had 2 colours in it.im not happy at all wasted $20 today now for nothing.
Love this colour – I am 72 and have been using this colour for years. Or so it seems. I used to use Paint box brand. Was so messy stained walls face everything it touched. I had to use jiff to get it off my face. Then I found this one. So easy to use, easy clean up and lovely colour. I leave it on for an hour. After a couple of washes I redo it every 2 weeks… Read more
as I like it vibrant.
For the price I don’t mind doing it regularly.
I can’t find it on the shelves now.
Woolworths don’t have it, though they have a new one.
Not happy as I don’t want to change colour.
Will ring on Tuesday and see if they still making it.
Fingers crossed.
Does not work on hair darker than recommended – My daughter likes to have "holiday hair" and we have found some of the Ultra Brights range to be great for this. However, in her very light golden brown hair, we cannot get the magnetic purple to take at all. We've tried this colour twice now, colouring just the end of her hair using a full packet and have not had any success with it. At best it… Read more
may leave a hint of pink colour (though this may have been wash down from the shocking pink, as her ends were meant to be pink/purple/blue ombré), but certainly no purple. The shocking pink and electric blue both look amazing in her hair, and they come out very intense. Her hair must just be too dark for this colour to work.
Useless – This product is super bad. I used the purple pastel on my dark blond hair and it did not change anything. It was just a waste of money and time.
Too little product – I bought two packets of this hair dye, to dye my shoulder length hair. I usually use one packet, but I thought they looked a little small, so I got the second one just in case. Turns out I needed four of them. So it wasn't really the cheaper option in the end. The cream is very thick, making it hard to spread. In half of my hair, the colour… Read more
remained quite vibrant for 3-4 weeks, which was great. However, in that time, it had completely faded out of the back of my hair, which looked pretty ridiculous.
I'd say it's okay for a 3 week hair colour, if you don't mind buying a whole heap of boxes, but there are much better options out there. Go with something a bit more expensive, and better quality.
Not a good result – I bought ultra brights purple colour. It wasn't until I got home and read the instructions that I saw it was not good for brown hair and really only worked on lighter shades of hair. Used it anyway and saw no difference, even to the lighter strands of hair on my head. It was on special for $5.00 so I'm not too bothered. But I don't think most of… Read more
these ultra bright colours would be any good for hair that is darker than sandy blonde. I think the pic on the cover of the package was a bit deceptive because the model looked like she could have been a brunette originally. Waste of time, but on the upside unlike other people my hair is still in good condition.
