Seatan 5HP BMS 4 Stroke

So, I had bought a small boat for fishing, but one thing after another, it's sat. I went to finally sort rego, problem. The hull is rated for a 10HP outboard, but it had a 15HP fitted. Hence, zero chance of rego. A quick think, a little reading and I found a solution. In NSW if your vessel is under 5.5m and has a motor output of less than 4kw or 5.5HP. My mind went off like a rat trap.

Some more searching and viola! A 5HP, 4 stroke outboard, with a 3.6kw output. With this in mind, I ordered a Seatan F4 4Stroke 5HP outboard.

What a little ripper it is too. My punt is 3.4m, so the motor more than easily sends me across lakes locally.

With an inbuilt 1.1L fuel tank, and the ability to connect an external fuel tank as well. Being short shaft, it's ideal for shallows and teller punt.

The 15HP Yamaha 4 Stroke outboard that was fitted will be sold, more than covering the cost of the new motor.

Being a nice light 24kg, the Seatan 5HP outboard is light enough to lift on/off if needed.

Basically, a great little outboard, that was ~1/2 the cost of a brand name, and quite bluntly it looks like every other outboard, just different stickers.

I plan on spending a lot of summer on the lake, so I will look to update after that.
