This little machine is the best spot cleaner I have ever had. Definitely the best on the market today. Show details

A friend of mine has an upright Bissel carpet cleaner, but she's rich and I'm not (annoyingly) so I thought I'd had a go at something more in my budget, which ended up with me getting a Shark... the name is a little odd to me, it has no teeth, it… Read more

doesn't seem to like to swim, and it does seem like it may sometimes b*te off more than it can chew....

So anyway, I digress again. Bought this one and it had a small and large attachment, the 'solids' attachment but as others have said the self cleaning cap thingy appears to have be lost to the mists of time and cost, or maybe the anti-plastic people, so it does have a good range of options. It's all fairly self explanatory and there are a flock of videos on platforms showing you how to set up and use.... all of which were pretty much bang on in terms of what goes where and how to do different things.

The two different sized attachments are handy, both have a reversible brush, once side having firm bristles and the other has little spikes rubbery bits, bit like shark skin really, so far the brush seems more capable, I'm not entirely sure what those rubber spikes are for other than a dodgy weekend away with someone of ill repute possibly... anyways....

In the box are two cleaning sample bottles, both are very small and really you should probably just buy two full sized bottles of each cleaner when you buy the shark, otherwise you'll run out mid way and be disappointed that you have to go shopping.... One is a dilatable mixture that goes in the big container with water, the other goes in the blue container and is used without dilution. The machine evidently mixed both as you spray onto whatever surface you are cleaning. I can't say its blown me away with its effectiveness, I've had to go over a number of times and have used all the brush and head options, ,rubber, bristle, large and small.... it does an ok job.

I decided today to have a go at the mattress, its white (how daft really) and so over 8 or so years its a bit yellow and a big gross, probably you know drool or something equally questionable, and in doing this I've used an entire tank of water, ¼ of the cleaning solution and another ¼ of the undiluted solution and those marks are still obvious, they are less, but they remain, and the mattress is quite wet.... like a lot. I've put a fan heater blowing directly onto it for a couple of hours, but still quite damp, hopefully as the day warms it will dry out these last damp patches. I mean it's all abit much talking about damp patches on a bed but this is what reviews make us do.

Overall though, it's ok. It's not nearly as powerful as the full sized upright Bissell model, nor I think do the Shark solutions clean as well as the Bissell ones. In most videos people spray and then immediately suck that water out again, I figure that's st^pid, it needs to sit for a good ten minutes or more to work, then it takes some elbow grease to shift stubborn staining, then you want to suck out that water and the stain, and it does an ok job, its not amazing, but its passable for what it is and the price point of the device.

You wouldn't want to use this as a carpet cleaner, its fine for spots, spills or small areas, but the time taken to even do one floor rug just makes me think a bigger harder stronger faster machine is the way to go for whole house freshness.

Would I buy it again, possibly, but I'd probably also consider saving up a bit more and just buying a full-sized cleaner with the handheld attachment included. I'm not sure how you go just using the Bissell solution, I suppose it would work in their tanks, after all, its just mixing it and spraying it where directed and so nothing says you couldn't.....

Would I recommend it, yes, if you have a small home, small rooms, or somewhat gross sofas or mattresses or whatever and you want to spot clean a bit, if you have the patience and ability to put in the elbow grease this machine does basically do what it claims well enough, but again I'd probably say go bigger if you can do it.

Follow-up  · Quick follow up for questions asked.... Storage? I assume this means storing it, no issues, it compacts up to a fairly small size with good hose and cord storage, it's maybe the size of a couple of shoe boxes side by side. It is residing in the Laundry on top of the Dryer at the moment, I've bought one of those plastic crates, so I've got the… Read more

This sleek compact portable cleaner has a real punch and gets into stains that are normally hard to remove with a breeze. Easy to use and light to carry. Definitely recommend for those little accidents with kids as you can see with some dried up aqua green paint on the carpet in the photos Show details

This is model PX200ANZ it comes with all three brushes but not the self clean stopper which seems to have been eliminated on these versions. Not to worry though , you have to clean your hoses after use as they get filthy as you can see in the photo I supplied, and that is done by just putting some clean water in a container and sucking it… Read more

through the machine.

My first attempt was a large rug in my dining room and I did it about a metre by a metre at a time , emptying the bin as I went and pulling out the accumulated pile from the rug .

The photos show the amount of gunk in that mat , which to the eye looked pretty clean accept for the obvious marks .

The best was to attack the cleaning process is to spray the mat and let the solution do it's thing for maybe 10 to 20 minutes.

Too many videos show people just spraying and going , it's not the way to do it for a clean job.

The marks and spots required extra attention and were quite stubborn , but after a little elbow grease I did shift them.

As for the solution, one part goes in one tank and the other goes into water in another tank .

I ended up refilling the water tank once during the process and using about 2 thirds of the supplied sample bottle .

With the non diluted cleaning solution I tipped it all into the tank and it used a bit over half.

Based on this, if you have some big jobs you are going to chew through this stuff so be prepared to buy more, it's not cheap, but then again this is not a task you will be doing every day .

Don't forget to clean that hose when you are finished it only takes a few seconds and you don't want that rubbish sitting in your hoses . Just like to mention that I did a search of the documentation on how and why you should clean your hoses and found nothing , maybe they forgot , anyway, just flush through with fresh water.

Bought this a few weeks ago and finally decided to give it a go on our fabric couch — and wow, I’m absolutely blown away! Our couch had years of built-up grime and grotty stains that just wouldn’t come out, no matter what I tried. I was honestly ready to give up and throw it out… but after using the Shark Upholstery Cleaner, it looks brand new… Read more

again! ️✨

It was super easy to use, and I couldn’t believe how much dirt it lifted out — you could actually see the difference straight away. The fabric feels fresh, looks cleaner, and even smells better.

If you’ve got kids, pets, or just a well-loved couch that’s seen better days, this cleaner is a total lifesaver. Highly recommend the Shark Upholstery Cleaner — 10/10 from me!

That feeling when you purchase a product that nails the brief..... Small, powerful, great attachments and cleaned dirt marks, pet urine easily. Very impressed with the results in our rental and looking forward to cleaning the car carpets.
