better. The initial outlay of $149 is well worth it compared to hundreds each year for professional cleaning. Family members have borrowed it many times so it's had a lot of use and still going strong. You have to empty the dirty tank and refill the fresh one a few times while using but it's pretty quick and easy. Very good for the price and as you can see from the photo, it REALLY sucks the dirt out.
I had the Vax spot cleaner, which worked great, until it didn't. I got about a year out of it, only using the specified product in the machine. It started making this really loud horrid noise and sounded like it was ready to blow up. Thankfully it was still under warranty, when i brought it back the staff member said alot of them had been coming back. I was able to exchange it for a different brand. Show details
I had an inspection on my unit I'm rent i had to get the carpets clean. it was going to cost me $148 dollars to get my carpets steam clean. I said to hell with that and brought a Vax Platinum for $245 from bunnings it was the best investment i ever done. My carpets look new again the vax i brought was a VAX PLATINUM COMPACT POWER from Bunnings not the vax platinum spot wash. worth every penny Show details

you can leave it loaded (full of solution) and be on a wee in about 15 seconds. I got carried away and then triple cleaned about 5m2 by hand in about 45 mins. The Vax seems to have plenty of sucking power and the carpet is left near dry with a little extra effort. Its easy to empty into the toilet. No leaks reported, it is early days. I can't comment about the other spot washers, my 5 star review is for the general concept - Brilliant!! if you have a puppy and carpet, then price in a spot washer. The end.

new spot cleaner deals with them all. Although a bit noisy, (like all carpet cleaners), It's quite easy to use. Fill with tap water to the mark (about 1.25litres), add some detergent (non foaming), plug it in and go. I found pulling the nozzle backwards (towards oneself), whilst pressing the spray, very effective for fresh light spills. For older deep messes, spraying the area and lightly brushing prior to pulling the nozzle back, did the job. The VAX stops automatically when the waste container is full. Emptying this is a little fiddly the first time, having to unlatch then unhook, and then pour out, but you get the hang of it very fast. Complete with a cord caddy and a nose and nozzle holder built in, this is a very compact and well-designed unit.

They leak and break very quickly, don't buy – Works quite well, but fabric brush will ruin all synthetic material like mattress covers or synthetic couches. Makes everything pill. But worst of all, the seal on the clean water tank always ends up disintegrating after a few uses and your clean water tank will just leak water everywhere. It's faulty. Can't believe I didn't buy one sooner – We have been looking at a getting for a spot cleaner for months. After a friend's spot cleaner (different brand). And oh my gosh. small for a big carpet hence spot cleaner. I could easily get into all the little nooks and crannies with the head. Very happy with this amazing little machine. There is a cleaning solution in the box which did the two recliners perfectly and it smelled lovely.
