Siemens iQ500 speedMatic SN26M831AU (Stainless Silver)

This is a very good quality and quiet dishwasher – We thought between this and some other Bosch ones. But it was reduced and came with 5 years warranty. Unfortunately, since our old one broke we did not have a lot of time to do researches and wait for deals, but I think it is a good quality product. Very economical and cleans the dishes well. It is one of the quiter ones but you can still hear it.

Wonderful – I must concur with the other review posted here. I love this machine, which replaced my Bosch which had served me faithfully for 6 years [review posted here]. I had expected my previous machine to last longer, but it had given me good service, my family had been larger, and it was a workhorse, doing sometimes 5 loads a day!!This review will contain many references to my old machine, sorry.
My kids were tired of me being faithful to Bosch, and the Siemens was recommended to me by a dishwasher repairman.
The 5 year warranty had me very curious and I began researching this. I was advised that it is actually built in the same factory as Bosch, in Germany.
Shortly after that, it went on a great special at Retravision, and I bought one.And love my purchase.
I use it mostly on the ECO cycle [which is a long 3 hours!!], which is why I awarded it 4 stars.
My dishes come out perfect, there are usually all types of dishes in the load....pots;pans;glass;plates; plastic!!
As the machine cleans well on the ECO cycle, I have not used the more intensive cycles.Though to be honest, I always soak heavily crusted dishes and scrape off prior to loading.
I've sometimes used the glass cycle [1.5 hrs], also impressed.
This is usually when I have multiple loads and cannot wait for 3 hours.
The machine does not dry plasticware well on the ECO cycle.
As mentioned, my family is no longer as large, so my cooking has decreased, and I'm not sure a long cycle would work for me when I have multiple loads.
There is a quick [29 minute] cycle; but I suspect that too frequent use of this programme on the old machine contributed to it's untimely demise, so I have not used this cycle on the Siemens.
The machine is neat and the surface does not attract fingerprints. It is quiet and efficient. The LCD panel indicates time left for the cycle to complete.
I do feel that it is smaller than my old machine, however, the placing of all the racks/basket is almost identical.
Sometimes, I have forgotten to add an item, and have found that if I open the door during the cycle, the cycle re-starts. [whereas it just continued on the Bosch once I shut the door]
All in all, purchase that I do not regret. Time will decide on the longevity of the product. I hope that the manufacturer is easy to contact, and upholds the terms of the warranty in the event of a problem.

I am so sad to say that my dishwasher is now on its last legs and does not appear to be worthwhile to repair. I've been looking for another Siemens but see that there are no longer free standing models available. Or am I wrong? Thank you
