Disappointed – My husband and I flew from Phuket to Singapore on Sunday 23rd June. While waiting for our flight the weather was extremely wet. My question and complaint is "where did you store my luggage before the flight?? When we arrived in Singapore my suitcase was wet but the most upsetting thing was that everything inside was soaked, dye had run from some… Read more
clothing which I had to then throw out. We've travelled with Silk before and not had issues, but will seriously give thought before travelling with you again. By the way, my husband's suitcase was dry and we booked in together.
Good service – An off shoot of Singapore airlines, however the aircraft are not as comfortable as the main fleet. Hard seats and the food options not the same standard as main carrier. However the in-flight staff are excellent and make the choice of silk air well worthwhile. Show details
Never fly Silk, we won't be doing so again – My wife and I are very frequent travelers abroad. We've done three round world trips and numbers of direct flights. We held a Kris-flier membership so always favoured Singapore Airlines and their partner, Silk Air. We have used Silk Air three times travelling to Siam Reap, Cambodia from Singapore, return, and twice to Vietnam, from Singapore… Read more
return, so ten flights. Each time we traveled with them, some weeks before I would order a vegan or vegetarian meal, whatever was on offer. The first time I was told that no-one had ordered special meals, although I heard another passenger arguing the same. They then made a big fuss and gave me a Pot Noodle type of meal, which was so over spiced, I don't believe many Westerners would be able to tolerate it. All ten flights have been the same, no food, but an offer of the Noodles. I think it's something Silk do on purpose to save having to buy alternate food. Their 737 planes are a mixture of clean to filthy. One flight to Siem Reap, called in to DaNang, Vietnam, where everyone was instructed to leave the plane. When boarding was announced, new passengers were called and those of us already having seats were told to wait. When we eventually boarded, our seats were occupied by new passengers and arguments ensued between us and the cabin staff and the new passengers and cabin staff. We were not the only people suffering this stupidity, and the flight resumed quite late past its flight time. It's something that airlines should avoid, because, in our case we had a guide booked for our stay, who was to collect us at the airport, and it added a couple of hours to his itinerary, which, of course, we had to pay extra. We will not be flying Silk Air again
Rude Staff at checkin – First of all I have never experienced any problems with silk air,but my wife and I had a flight from cebu to singapore last night. I'm flying on Aust passport,my wife still using Filipino passport due to the fact she's not Aust citizen yet. The two girls on checkin..treating her like she's a criminal, due yo the fact they can't read or… Read more

Excellent service – The return flight from Singapore to Phuket was very comfortable, the cabin Crew pleasant and very helpful, the inflight service and food was excellent. A comfortable journey and value for money and
Mediocre Experience SIN- CNS – The only airline to fly direct SIN- CNS I thought I would save myself 4 hours rather than fly via BNE. The sector the longest currently in Silk Air,s schedule at 7.5 hours overnight is at best uncomfortable, leg room is poor, no IFE, 2 toilets for a full 737 is a challenge and the state of cleanliness reflects this. Clearly the route is not a… Read more
favorite amongst the crew and the lack enthusiasm and service in general was obvious. Meals were average. This is my second flight on the same sectors and in future I will be accepting the time penalty and fly with big brother Singapore Airlines out of BNE for a far superior flight.
a good airline let down by dirty seats – Common Silk Air, you do everything a regional airline should, good pilots great crew good prices BUT but your economy seats are filthy!!!. Show some respect to your clientele. There has to be a fix to this issue. Go see Volkswagen their cloth car seats are wipe clean.
Silk Air flight (Singapore - Kochi) – After the flight - Leg pain was unbearable due to Silkair's dirty congested seats !! If you are planning to fly Silkair flight, then start praying for not having someone with cold and cough behind you because you can feel them coughing and sneezing right into your shoulders. Horrible... I doubt if these flights are allowed to do crazy… Read more
modifications like cars.. Common sense cannot explain why the hell seats are so close.
Service - The staffs are decent and you can see them running around and struggling to catch-up with the crowd's needs.
Verdict - Never Again (even if you offer a free flight).
Budget in more ways than one – Silk Air is Singapore Airline's LOCAL Budget carrier in SE Asia. I flew it regularly between Singapore and Balikpapan. Food is really bad. Many people, including me, complained of food poisoning after eat Silk Air food. Airline is so cheap you have to watch SILENT movies because they won't supply headphones. On one flight the plane literally… Read more
