Junk – Don't bother wasting your money on this junk. The felt inserts won't even fit into the pen nozzle so it is impossible to use. Consigned straight to the garbage bin. Ripped off!!! Can't be bothered trying to get money back. Just put it down to buyer beware and don't get sucked in.

Waste of money – This product does not do anything to rectify a scratch except put a clear sticky liquid over a scratch. Don't buy this product - its cheap but doesn't work. You can buy the product on line but its not worth the effort. I suggest you check other scratch repair products.

clear coat applicator paintless scratch removal it leaves a transparent mark – Makes the light scratch look worse as it leave a transparent superglue like mark. I would have been better off not applying this product to my car. Anyone who wants to use this I recommend you first try it on something other than your car so you can see the transparent mark it leaves.

Actually works ... if used correctly on suitable scratches – Although available on-line for less than $5, in some auto accessory stores this pen can sell for up to $30! I suspected neither would work, especially the cheapest, but a 'keyed' door on the car, a $350 quote and curiosity meant I ordered one from Hong Kong from dx.com for less than $3 post-free. The package consists of a thin 'Texta' type pen with two detached felt tips. The instructions explain how the 'ink' requires UV sunlight to cure, but caution is required to ensure the pen is not left uncapped, or in the sun, or it will ruin the tip. Hence the spare, I guess, although it might be possible to wear out a tip before the 'ink' runs out.

Reading the instructions on the packaging, and further reading on-line, explained how this 'ink' can work well on any colour Duco paint since it melts and then reseals the top clear lacquer, the paint protection layer, rather than the coloured paint below it. So a slight scratch is typically just in this top clear layer, usually giving the appearance of a white chalky line in the paint - the type you hope will buff off - and the pen should work on these, but not on deeper scratches affecting the underlying paint.

My keyed scratch was long and deep in places, but worth a try. The 'ink' is clear making it difficult to keep within the confines of the scratch when working , as the instructions suggested, in the shade. Once I'd drawn over the scratch and then left it out in the sun, I did see considerable improvement. It wasn't really effective on sections where bare metal or primer could be seen, but shallower bits were much less visible and a little better again after a second coat. Overall the scratch no longer caught the eye as it had before.

One painted plastic bumper on the car had a more serious 'scratch' - a big scuff mark 20cm x 10cm - right on the front corner from brushing against rough concrete. More like 50 scratches close together and parallel. I tried the pen on a small section and was surprised to see the marks almost vanish as I drew, and fade more in the sun. I drew over the rest of the scratches and, once cured, the bumper looks virtually undamaged - just a few specks remain where the paint itself suffered.

After a few re-coats and fairly thorough use, I'm still on the first tip and with 'ink' to spare. While it's not completely magic, this cheap pen does a good enough job on shallow but annoying scratches, at least until there's a better excuse to take the car into the panel beater or paint shop. Just use it as instructed - You Tube has several clips on using it. Very cheap on-line. Surprisingly effective on shallow scratches. Two felt tips included. Easy to use, if you have a steady hand. Doesn't repair deeper scratches in Duco itself, but partially obscures even these. Be careful not to smudge the wet 'ink'.
