Lasted just over 4 years and performance just average – This dryer has only lasted just over 4 years. Dryers should last at least 10 years according to Choice. It has actually 'burnt out'. I've never been completely happy with it. While this model has been adequate in its performance for a family of three, I've found that the pre-programmed options never perfectly dried items, even with lighter loads,… Read more

no gave up using those long ago.. While it appears to be an economical dryer, having to replace it so soon galls me. It still sells for around $600.

Love Simpson. Wouldn't buy anything else! – I have used this machine daily since the floods in February. It honestly hasn't missed a beat. We’ve barely had any sunny days over the last few months so using my dryer has been the only option. Show details

What a dryer! – This dryer is the only dryer I have ever owned that separates missed tissue from the clothes. It has a dry function that will stop the dryer as soon as all clothes are dry, thus saving you money. I could not keep up without this dryer!

Good Dryer – Have had this a dryer for over 2 years now after having to send back the superceded 4KG model which was faulty and must commend Electrolux for how they handled that problem and thier excellent service. Was very hesitant to purchase another Simpson product at first after the problems with the previous faulty dryer and a shockingly noisy front load… Read more

washing machine of the same brand which was sent back to the retailer. After comparing all the competitors models in the market nothing came close to the Simpson or Electrolux overall. Decided to give them a go again and Very Glad that chose this Simpson Dryer as does everything needed, is sturdy and just must have been unlucky with the previous one as the quality is good. Does not have a warm timed cycle which would be nice though use the sensor dry mixed cycle anyway which does warm drying. Only gripe is sometimes clothes are not always as dry as would expect on the sensor dry extra cycle, though in saying that it doesn't over dry clothes which would be a big problem and/or waste precious electricity. Overall very happy with it and would definately recommend it.

Absolute value for money, reliable dryer – Since moving to Victoria from Queensland I have used this dryer on a daily basis. I load it with towels, jeans, sheets and it dries all of these pieces quickly and quietly. Although the dryer cycle is very quiet I do find the beeping when a load finishes a little annoying, repetitive and loud. Filter is easy to clean. Settings easy to navigate.  Show details

Fabulous dryer for the price – I bought this dryer last year after my previous one died. I looked at condenser dryers, heat pump ones, digital displays and decided on this model. Its a whisper quiet machine, which dries efficiently, and is simple to use. There are a few cycles to choose from, I've used them all and find the results to be excellent on all cycles. I use the… Read more

timer settings usually, and check on it intermittently, as I'm home most of the time.

I've always taken clothes out that are perfectly dry and not tangled up.

The only con I can see is that the timer doesn't show how much time is left of the cycle. This isn't a big issue for me, because, as said above, I check the clothes after an hour or so. If they're dry, I take them out. If not, I put them back in for 30 minutes.

For the price, I'd recommend this model to anyone. And, if you're able to keep an eye on drying time, you can save money by taking clothes out before the cycle ends. My power bills are not all that much higher, even though I have to use the dryer all the time due to a poorly positioned clothesline and an accident, both of which prevent me air drying my washing.

Cheap and does the job – Pretty quiet for a cheaper clothes dryer. Clothes always come out dry on the auto setting wich for a full load takes less than a hour. I definetly would recommend. Show details

Simple well build Dryer – Had this dryer for close to 7 months now and it hasn't missed a beat, it replaced a previous Simpson dryer that was 20 years old, so simple to use, just put it on cotton's cupboard and the dryer does the rest, And it matches so nicely with my brand new Simpson top load washing machine, very happy Simpson customer. Show details

Sensor not working properly – The sensor for the dryer is not working properly. Even after the dryer running for around 3 hours with Cotton Extra dry mode and just half loaded with clothes, the clothes are not drying up properly and remain partly wet. Show details

Sensor doesn’t work!! – Purchased and straight away the sensor did not work. Have tried everything ex cleaning the lint, not overloading etc but still leaves the clothes wet. Inconvenient as I now have to take off wall, fit in car, drive across town and be left with no dryer while this gets sorted. Not good enough for a brand new dryer. Shouldn’t advertise as a sensor dryer if it doesn’t perform.
