Has served us well – We bought this machine over 10 years ago (about 2009), not sure of the exact date now, on sale at Harvey Norman. It did the family washing during that time, several loads per week. We have found it very quiet (on a concrete floor) and the cycle times are longer as is to be expected in a front loader. The wash is always clean and the spin at 850… Read more

RPM is more than enough for line drying. Compared to the previous machine we had it was brilliant. Since the kids left home it has done the washing for the two of us. Only now, has it started to make a noise which the repairman says is the drum bearing. Cost to fix is only a bit less than new machine so we will run it until it dies completely. We aim to buy another newer model as it is Australian made. I'm not sure why people complain about cycle times as this is a feature of front loaders and the noise is minimal.

Great Value Machine – I've owned this machine for 11 years and had no issues. During that time it's done the heavy lifting for a family of four. At the end of the day a washing machine is a metal cylinder that rotates while your clothes get cleaned by the detergent - not by the machine. This one does the job just fine. Show details

Great machine – have had this machine 14 years and it's still going strong, couldn't ask for a better machine, only downside is it's a little noisy but once the laundry door is shut you can hardly hear it and it doesn't spin properly sometimes so the washing is still soaking and it needs to be spun again  Show details

Soooo sloooowwww – 8 years old and the door gasket has split and needs replacement. The part costs $60 online and NO ONE wants to put it on for me. It's too fiddly. For 8 years I've marvelled at how long a load takes then you have to remember to switch it to spin. It constantly needs draining and often I take items out that haven't even been wet through. Never a… Read more

Simpson front loader for me again. I hate it so much I'm glad it finally broke so I can get a top loader.

Great machine, 8 years running no problems – It's very gentle on clothes but does a good job of cleaning them, though a full cycle does take a while. I usually set the timer to finish just before i get home so this doesn't bother me. It's quieter than others owned by family and friends. Despite other comments on this site I still think it's a great machine, it was certainly great for the money.  Show details

poor choice - would not buy Simpson w/machine again – We have owned this model for three years. On reflection I think the salesman knew it was a shabby machine and offered us a deal to simply get rid of it. A rinse cycle takes 52 minutes, a spin-only cycle takes 30 minutes. A full cycle....feels like forever. It is impractical to to expect to wash more than one load per day due to to the lengthy cycle of this machine.

Not Worth it – My machine is almost 3 years old, worked fine up until recently. (Yes, it is extremely loud as well big con). Cleaned clothes so much better than any top loader (the only plus to this machine). Recently had issues with the door locking and new cycles refusing to start. Had a repairman out today, who said the board is pretty stuffed, and not worth… Read more

the repair (didn't charge me for the call out). He said that most guys won't even come out on repair for that brand of machine. Will never buy that brand again, and was extremely disappointed to find out that Electrolux was the parent company. Cleaned Clothes well. Noisy and disappointed with the repair issues.

Terrible – This machine was a replacement for another simpson front loader. It has lasted only 10 months. Started a load in the morning and came home to find the power off because the washer has tripped safety switch. Consequently the fridge/freezer are also off in 38 degree heat. Service will take a week and a half to come out. Simpson has made me regret my… Read more

decision to go for a front loading machine. Can't think of anything good to say about this machine. It is so noisy especially on the spin cycle. Lasted 10 months with very little hard work. Would not recommend this machine at all.

Awful noise on Spin – I just bought this machine this afternon. I'm taking it back tomorrow. A full cycle took well over 2 hours, closer to 3 actually. The noise it makes during spin cycle has to be heard to be belived. It reminds me of nails on a chalkboard, and woke my son. It certainly won't fit in with my lifestyle. It was very cheap too long to wash, horrendous noise on spin

Shocking – Had it for 12 months. Now in the last 3 months we have had to send it off 3 times for repair and the warranty has now expired despite us getting no decent usage out of it. Noisy. slow. Unreliable. Do not buy under any circumstances. This is the worst piece of electronics I have owned. Constantly needing repair, loud, slow. Service takes a week with no replacement.

Very ordinary – Bought the cheapest model front loader available - being water and energy conscious - after 6 months it needed a new drive belt and now after 15 months it finishes a cycle but the door remains locked. It is very slow to complete a cycle. I would buy a different brand next time. water saving very slow, performance problems, not reliable
