A crap washing machine – I have read all these comments & agree with them all. Unfortunate internal hose failure - 6 July 2020 - purchased 18 June 2018 - still a really good machine – Same issue as another reviewer that a plastic hose has split where it makes a u-turn. detergent dispenser to the main bowl. Very happen with the response from Simpson. Picture shows black tape of the temporary repair (thin teflon plumbing tape underneath it first) and is the bottom of the bend in the hose. Still a great machine.

Great Machine – I think this is a great machine, its the old style stainless steel barrel with lint collector which is a must no fluff on your clothes, I wash my work clothes with my Son's school clothes with no issues. It has different wash cycles so you can do a quick load or heavy duty clean load. Great value for money plus these are sturdy machines and you can never go wrong with a Simpson Washing Machine. Saving time and money and cleans like a gem – I brought my 9kg Simpson Washing machine six months ago. Its large enough to take blankets and allows me to do big loads at same run time as smaller models.

Disappointed – Machine is just outside of warranty and it’s started making LOUD not good sounding noises when it’s filling up and when it’s spinning. I’m yet to get a repair person to look at it so not sure what the problem is just wondering if anyone else has had the same thing happen?
Terrible – Should have realised why the Goods Guys salesman recommended an extended warranty - he knew these machines are rubbish. From first use the valving in this machine caused big issues with hammer in our plumbing and it’s stopped now waiting for it’s third set off suspension system. Not happy more than one issue – After 2 and a half years the water pump failed no help from electrolux when I contacted them so replaced pump with a second hand one. Then found that the hose from the detergent dispenser to the tub was leaking water down onto the pump, very common apparently, always used a simpson but not any more, you expect to get at least 5 years out of white… Read more

Capable, quiet, and designed to fail – Machine works well and operates relatively quietly. A little too much plastic and frail electronics for my liking. cheapest, thinnest plastic that transfers mixed detergent and water to the outer wash drum. If it wasn't designed to fail, then I don't know what it was designed for. Fix on my wife's machine (after 2x technicians failed to find the leak / blamed it on the lint filter) completely removes the hose to the rubbish bin where it belongs. If you are capable of some repair work - here is the fix. Remove the 2x screws that hold the control cover, rotate forward and carefully release the plastic clips designed to break. Remove the 3x screws that hold the lid hinges and remove the lid (you need to do this to remove the detergent drawer) and remove the detergent draw gate, filters and draw. Undo the circuit board, height sensor tube and electrical connections. Release the 2x hex head screws on the back of the washer that hold the plastic top and remove the top of the washer - lots of plastic clips to break so be careful From the underside of the washer top, remove the 6x screws that hold in the lower detergent tray and remove the end of the hose that attaches to the outer top of the washer drum. Plug the washer drum and detergent port (where the hose was connected) whatever way possible. I used plastic plugs and silicone. Cut a slot (or drill holes) in the front of the lower detergent tray to allow water to run into the washer drum. I used a bead of silicone behind the slot as a drip check. Put it all back together. Now the detergent water mix runs onto the clothes and the designed fail point is eliminated. My wife says it washes better with less detergent.
UPDATE December 2022 - Still going without issue (after the mod). Doesn't wash as good as our 20+ year old Kleenmaid or Maytag machines, (4x sons over 20yo, 3x tradies) but it's OK for sheets and towels.
Not Happy! Have Only Had for 1 Week – Just replaced an old Samsung 8kg with the 9kg Simpson Top Load, which the Salesman recommended. Even though I clean the filter after every wash there is still a lot of lint on everything I have washed. The cycles are very long and the Auto fill does not cover the load so I find I am using the Full water level all the time. Show details

use wash bags. I've used really old machines that feel more reliable than this one. It's quite surprising since it looks nice and new and modern.
No problems until now – We have had no issues with the machine until today. Just over 2 years old and just out of warranty it has started leaking. Removed the back plate to find that the internal drain hose has split in a couple of places. The thin plastic had gone hard and was not able to cope with the tight bend in the pipe. soiled clothes to be washed in under an hour making the shorter 45minute cycle useless. This is contrary to what the operating manual states on page 7 under the heading "Auto Water Level Feature" which clearly states that operator has the option to select either a Manual or Auto water levels. Had I been aware of this I would have attempted to source a different product.

them. I even put every load on with as much water as possible to try and alleviate the problem but it doesn't help (and yes, I clean the lint filter). Grotty socks come out just as grotty as they went in. I've had to buy black socks for my kids as they weren't getting clean. They are probably still not clean but now I can't tell. was excellent and the control panel told you exactly where you were at. Have also noticed that the lint filter often doesn't contain any fluff. I have dogs and on my old machine there was ALWAYS hair to be cleaned out of the filter after each use. All the stopping and starting through cycles is also ridiculous and the "Time Adjust" feature is next to useless. I'm not averse to change, but this is clearly NOT a case of "newer is better" and IMO you could do worse than going back to the old Encore software.
Always had Simpson and this is the worst – I bought this machine a week ago. I have always had Simpson washing machines and decided to choose Simpson again because I had been so happy with them. no way to adjust a cycle without returning to the beginning again which is most annoying. The machine is extremely noisy during the spin cycles and the bowl wobbles about alarmingly. Very unhappy with this Simpson machine and wish I did not spend the money on it, I feel it was a waste. I would have bought a different machine.
