Great for Beginners – Beginner sewer here and I cannot love this machine more. The instructional dvd was easy to follow and after watching it, threaded the machine first time no worries. Have a baby on the way and have been sewing up a storm with buntings, bibs, burp rags etc. Have had this machine for just over 2 months, have had no issues with it, and use it 2 -3… Read more

times a week. Great value for money and looking forward to starting some more difficult projects shortly.

Cheap but efficient for a beginner – Had this about 2 years. Great for a beginner & very inexpensive at Wal-Mart. It worked well & still does except the reverse/backstitch button jammed & will not function at all. Can still sew forward & do everything else. Recommend for the price. Just baby it. It is not heavy duty.

great – had this machine 5 years now. I use it occasionally, mostly every 2-3 months for a few days to take up pants and dresses etc. its a great basic machine and easy to use. bought it on special years ago and it still works like the day I bought it. my one from 5 yesrs ago is certainly doing its miles. my sister in law bought the same one 2 years later and hers us doing great to this day too

Great budget sewing machine for novices – I've had this machine from new for almost 4 years now. It works really well when threaded properly. I initially had a problem with bunching thread before I realised I wasn't threading it proerly. The thread wasn't being caught between the tension discs, but now I corrected my threading technique it is fine. A couple of minor complaints: 1. The… Read more

thread jumps out of the tension discs too easily which makes threading more difficult for novice sewers. 2. The thread does become jammed in the top tension holder sometimes. 3. Changing the light bulb is a pain because the cover needs to be opened with a screwdriver, other machines simply pull open.

Terrible – I could not get this machine to work. The thread kept bunching up and jamming, the thread would pull away from the needle. I have never experienced these sorts of problems before. Either it's overall a junk machine or I bought a bad one. I can't use it. I have to buy another which makes me want to cry. Everything. Stay away from it.

Singer Tradition 2250..So far Sew good ;) – First up, it comes with a DVD and a paper instruction manual. Great. *Watching* someone thread the machine and various other tasks can be invaluable. But you've got the manual too if you just want to quickly check which way the bobbin goes in. I have a portable DVD player that I use in my craft room. You could also load the DVD onto your iPad… Read more

"The lady" on the DVD has an American accent..OK..but she does sound just a wee bit smug about all her super duper Singer knowledge. Hmm..I can deal with that. One day I'm gonna get in a pickle and I'll be hinging on her every word LOL :) Taking off the extension table (that part at the lower front left, that you can store accessories in), allows you to actually slide pant legs, sleeves and the like onto the sewing area! Cool.

The Singer 2250 fits the bill for me, being a basic machine, that works well and is easy to use.

Warranty: The warranty document states "3 year warranty for mechanical sewing machines and overlockers. Electronic sewing machine 5 year warranty". Now I'm an intelligent girl - but aren't all sewing machines "electrical"? It's a bit ambiguous if you ask me, but I will register the warranty online as the document suggests.

Made: In Vietnam

All in all a good little machine, runs smoothly, and if you don't care for a lot of bells and whistles then this is for you :)

I have had just a little trouble threading the machine, when the thread goes behind the "thin wire needle clamp guide". It's just a bit tricky to get the thread behind there.

Perfect sewing machine for basic sewing needs - Simple and easy to use – I am using singer 2250 sewing machine for the last 2 years now and i am very happy with its performance.I use it regularly and it has not given me trouble even once. It comes with an instruction manual as well as a DVD which explains everything and makes it easy to use. There is a pattern selector dial, which can be turned in either direction so… Read more ·  1

that we can select the desired stitch and we can adjust the stitch length with the stitch length dial.It comes with 6 basic stitch settings and 4 decorative stitch settings .We can choose between straight stitch, zig-zag stitch, blind hem stitch , multi- stitch zig-zag,decorative stitches.

It has a four step automatic button hole setting also.

It has a removable extension table which can be used as an accessory box to store needles, bobbins, buttons and other sewing machine related

material.

It comes with a foot control pedal which regulates the speed of the sewing machine. It makes our hands free for sewing as speed is controlled by the foot pedal.

Singer 2250 has a Two-step presser foot lifter which makes sewing several layers of fabric or thick fabric easy.

Winding the bobbin is explained step by step in the instruction manual as well as in the DVD which makes this step very easy ,even people who have never used sewing machine can do it.

Threading the upper thread is the most important step which needs a bit practice and this is properly explained in the DVD.

There is a feature of reverse sewing as well which helps us to secure the beginning and end of a seam.

It comes with a cover which keeps it dust free .

For regular cleaning of the sewing machine -to remove fabric lint and threads, a brush is provided.

overall it is the best sewing machine even for beginners Easy to use

Great Machine. Especially for beginners – I purchased this sewing machine around 8 months ago now and it has been great. The instruction DVD was easy to follow. It is used frequently to make dresses, bedding, fix hems etc. It is easy to thread, has 4 step button hole, multi stitch functions and a reverse lever. If you are after a good machine without wanting to spend lots of money then i highly recommend this one. Inexpensive and easy to use

Great Price but did not last very long! – I purchased this machine just over a year ago as it was well priced and I was not sure how much I would end up sewing. The machine is very easy to use as it does not have many complex functions and all the different stitches are achieved by turning a dial. The 4 step button foot took a few goes to produce a good results but is satisfactory.… Read more

Disappointingly the machine stopped working a two months ago and the Blessington/Singer procedure for troubleshooting and having the machine serviced is next to impossible to negotiate if you work Monday to Friday. So don’t expect good after-sales service if something goes wrong. inexpensive, easy to use unreliable, poor afer sales service

Simple, easy to use – I got this as an early xmas present, and the sewing machine is very simple to use for the novice. Tried out the 4-step buttonhole, no problems. Great machine for a good price! inexpensive, simple
