Perfect for BBQ areaI have bought 2 Sirius rangehoods for my kitchen and butler's kitchen last year. I won't choose any other product for rangehood for the one reason: quality, ease of cleaning and maintenance. The filter can be washed in dishwasher or just soak in hot soapy water. It is a great modern appliance for any outdoor kitchen.
Nice, bright and strongJust installed. Works like a dream. No Smell, no smoke all good.....With a 3 year warranty, add another 12 months, making it a total of 4 years warranty, if you purchase and install the EASYROOF by far a great deal.
You can see and feel the quality this unit. A great choice at a very reasonable price from E and S trading.
powerful 900mm rangehoodI bought this as a kitchen rangehood because it has one of the highest extraction rates for a 900mm rangehood. It's fairly quiet on settings 1-2 which is more than enough for normal cooking but it does have a bit of noise once it is on setting 3-4, but I only need this for really smoky cooking like frying steaks or fish. Having said that, even frying steaks with this rangehood on setting 4 will leave the kitchen completely odourless, so it definitely does its job well. I'm quite happy with it overall.
Update: After almost 5 years of good use t... Read morehe motors started being quite noisy so I submitted a warranty claim. I've had nothing but trouble since - they use this subcontractor called Sydney Rangehoods who seem to think taking apart the rangehood and screwing it back together with half the screws is acceptable. On top of that, 2 new motors were originally sent for replacement. One of them wasn't spinning properly so a third motor was sent to replace that. This third motor didn't even last one minute before it made an awful grinding noise and then decided to stop spinning completely. I'm still waiting to get this motor replaced again while I am stuck with a half working rangehood. Overall the rangehood was good while it was new and working, but after sales is completely hopeless.
Perfect Outdoor RangehoodThis rangehood is perfect for our outdoor entertainment area. It is relatively quiet compared to other outdoor rangehoods and relatively simply to clean and maintain. Would happily recommend this product.
Fits the purposeThis range hood is ideal fit for a BBQ on our, part enclosed, deck. The all stainless steel filters feel strong enough to withstand regular cleaning. Buying at retailer on special made it a very good buy.
Questions & Answers
would this unit with be suitable for indoor use? how does it sound compared to other premium brands eg qasair/whispair/falmec? would you install it indoors?
Hi Ken, Unfortunately, no this will not be suitable for indoor use. These units are designed to sit above a 1200mm to 1600mm cooking surface instead of 600mm to 750mm that you would normally find in a... Read morell homes. Whilst the Motor itself is quiet there would be a lot of sound of air moving through the filters making the overall sound of the rangehood louder than it would be when installed in the appropriate alfresco setting. I actually have this installed indoors in my kitchen. It's quite effective at removing smoke and smell from cooking and I don't find it too noisy. BUT... I think due to it being used as a kitchen rang... Read moreehood (around 2 hours daily) the motors started rattling and getting quite noisy after 4-5 years of use. If it was used as an alfresco rangehood it would probably be used much less than this. And while the rangehood itself is quite good, don't get me started on the warranty service...it's been almost a 2 month affair and I'm still waiting to get 2 working motors after having faulty replacements installed. That's on top of the subcontractors chosen by arisit doing all sorts of dodgy stuff like only replacing half the screws and ripping a seam in the ducting. So short answer is yes it's a great rangehood for indoor use. but if you need something that you will use a lot to last, I would look elsewhere - you don't want to have to deal with getting parts replaced.
I installed Sirius 900 sL80 for BBQ area , not taking too much smoke . is there anything can go wrong or filters blocked
I haven't had that problem. Just increase the level of power higher. There are no filters, you just remove the stainless steel grills and wash them.
I've had a unit for several years and no problem with smoke extraction.
If the BBQ are is in an open, then wind flow may reduce the smoke extraction.
The height that the unit has been installed at and the position over the BBQ may cause an issue.
Hi Zak, If the unit and ducting have been installed correctly, it should be able to extract smoke properly. Just make sure that you turn on the rangehood before starting to cook in order to get the ai... Read morerflow started, and to turn up the speed when you have a lot of food cooking at once. When the baffle filters get dirty they can be removed and washed in a dishwasher. Regards
Is the stainless steel construction 304 or 316 grade?
