Sirius SL906EM-L Series

Does the job – I bought this Rangehood in 2019 as it was marketed as being the quietest option due to the externally-mounted motor. I didn’t find it any quieter than a typical Rangehood. It did the job well though, and in the 3 years I used it (I sold the house I installed it in last year), it never gave a moments trouble. But in future, I wouldn’t bother with an externally-mounted unit again.

Sirius SL906 EM-L 850 – I wanted a rangehoood which was stylish and inconspicuous, quiet and easy to clean. Purchased Sirius ducting to extend Warrantee to 6 years for peace of mind. So far no complaints and happy with my purchase. Happy customer !

pleasure, never thought I would say that ever!

No cooking smells lingering at all, bacon in the morning no leftover smell. My vietnamese pork dish has always left a fish sauce smell the next day, nothing with the Sirius, I am loving it.

Awesome looking product with quiet function – Bought this product as we wanted the very best in ventilation and also something that is undermount/hidden and has great functionality. We love the look of it and it is very quiet. The staff support at head office is good. Only flaw is that you have to buy the ducting kit separately as its not all supplied with, but it is relatively cheap and easy to work with. Quiet and looks good – Does what it claims and is quiet. It is well designed and looks unobtrusive in our kitchen. We didn't like the colour of the LED light strip, cool white, that didn't match the under bench LED strip that we installed. If you read this Sirius, perhaps offer different temp LED strip to match customers LED's, as an option, or accessory.

All up we are very pleased with it and would recommend Sirius.

Very poor performance – SL906EML520 installed in my brand new kitchen with a SEM1 motor. About 4m ducting from rangehood to motor, then 1m to the exhaust vent. Cons: simply doesn't move a lot of air. Barely holds up a sheet of paper at full speed. Never captures all of the smoke/steam at light cooking loads, and at heavy loads seems like it doesn't catch any. Performance is only marginally better than my old recirculating unit.

Very disappointed with this rangehood - we dreamed of being able to fry up a storm in our new kitchen, but it looks like we now have to look into an outdoor bbq as frying up even 2 small steaks fills the whole house with smoke.

Worth buying – I saw this product in my friend house and I decided to buy it for my new home. The fact that its noiseless and extract very well gives this products A+++++++. Amazing Rangehood! – I've never had a range hood that extracts so well and is really quiet at the same time. I also love the fact that you can stick the baffle filters straight in the dishwasher. Very quiet and efficient – Researched for a Range-hood that has external motor. Sirius ticked all the boxes being very quiet and efficient. On the lower setting you can hardly hear it. Great features – The benefits of off-board motor and easy clean baffle filters suitable for induction shouldn't be underestimated especially when coming from an older sliding canopy range-hood and being noise sensitive compares very favourably in quality with some brands where the ducting and fitting alone would cost almost the same as this complete unit  Show details

No more stinky kitchen – We have gone from an old style over stove exhaust unit that just recirculated the air back in your face - to our wonderful new Sirius which now extracts all the cooking smells outdoors - its great. Good Quality – We purchased the Sirius SL-906EM-L-1000 with the motor in the roof space a beautiful quite range hood, recommend this unit to any one. The decision was made and purchased the Rangehood from Whitfords Five Dock (excellent service & price) I fitted this on the weekend.

After installing and using this product I would rate all the areas below as 5 stars:

Quality- looks very expensive yet not nearly the price of similar rangehoods

Build- solid with thick panels no rattles or hum during use

Performance - serious motor power removes all the smoke steam

Noise- very quiet but make sure you use Sirius ducting it's super quiet

Ease of installation - cut the hole, 4 screws, vent and plug it in

Light- Bright LED strip

Fit- this fits perfectly into my cupboard as its slim and the exact size I required 850mm long

Easy clean- simple to remove the filters and pop in the dishwasher

Simple and easy to operate- buttons make sense and are easy to operate (some brands are terrible)

I can't say enough about how good this product is, I'm confident this will serve me well for a very long time.

I'll finish with if you've had a kitchen with a noisey ineffective rangehood (I did) then spend the extra and get one that does what it's supposed to, Sirius will do that for you.

means there are two motors inside the body of the range hood, while the 850 stands for the width in mm (i.e. left to right). The depth, or front to back, is about 260mm for all models that I looked at. The size was big factor for us because we installed it inside an old chimney that used used to house a wood oven. If you have the space, you might consider a larger model. I think they recommend that the range hood is wider than the cooktop.

Other models have single motor in the range hood and another at the top of the ducting - which means it is quieter but for us that was not the major issue. We bought a factory second from the Sirius website which worked out about $400 cheaper. They also sell ducting kits which I bought - they are much better than the ones you buy at the hardware store.

The Sirius range hood was more expensive than the common brands but that is because it has 3-4 times more suction, removing 2000m3 of air per hour. In comparison, standard machines that you buy in the big electrical stores only manage about 500m3. The single motor Sirius does a 1000m3 per hour, which is still twice as powerful as standard machines and it would probably be perfect for a 60cm cooktop, but I recommend going for the double motor model when you have a bigger cooktop or, like us, you cook a lot of stir fries.

Since the kitchen is such an important aspect of life, I highly recommend getting such a great range hood as the Sirius SL906.

Great Customer Service – We have just installed this model. The unit makes a funny noise on speed 2 and makes a knocking sound on a windy day. I have contact Sirius and they were right on to it. Fabulous Product! – With the motor positioned in the roof, this Sirius SL906EML850 Rangehood is soooo quiet and yet very efficient. It is very easy to operate, it is discreetly tucked away under our overhead cupboards and has beautiful LED lighting. This rangehood looks fantastic in our newly renovated kitchen. Money well spent! Super Quiet – Attractive Rangehood that is easy to clean and operate. We can actually have a conversation while the rangehood is on. The stainless steal grills are a breeze to clean and are a big improvement over the mesh type. I included the SEM5 motor options which is a powerful roof mounted motor, making the rangehood really quiet.

Love this rangehood! – Remote motor means quiet operation, strong exhaust for my induction cooktop, easy to clean, all stainless steel construction and is mounted under the cabinets so kitchen looks streamlined ...no canopy!
