Beautiful and contemporary finish and works magic – The new range hood was installed few weeks ago complementing our monochrome, contemporary kitchen. We opted for the model with an outboard motor which is encased within the s/steel cover. The appliance itself looks very beautiful and minimalistic, all parts are well made to last and the rangehood works very well, quiet and efficient. We also used the Sirius brand ducting. Very happy with my purchase, well recommended.

Let down by poor manufacturing – This is my second Sirius range hood and it is the second one that has had problems right out of the carton. Firstly, the instructions suck. Obviously no one at Sirius cares, or they would have improved them after my first feedback. My first range hood had factory-damaged buttons. This range hood had a sheared off screw in the outdoor unit shroud assembly (1st photo) which had been jimmied together with a smaller screw in the factory. Pretty damn eye opening if that is the level of quality control. Poor poor poor.
Other issues:
1. The drilling templates have the wrong locations marked for the screw holes. I had to re-drill two holes (one indoor and one outdoor) due to this issue. On the outdoor unit, the top centre hole was some 10-15mm off where it should be. That’s not my error, that’s Sirius’ shoddy manufacturing. I can drill through a template securely masked to the wall way more accurately than 10mm. See photos 2. One of the holes for the outdoor unit sits directly behind an electrical box on the unit. See photos (can’t even see the screw hole behijg the box). Now, I have stubby screwdrivers, but the distance on the unit between the hole and the electrical box is bloody ridiculous. I had to re-drill another hole through the stainless steel flange in a better location. 3. The indoor unit has holes all over the damn thing due to poor metal fabrication that contribute to whistling. You need to seal these up with silicone. Unacceptable.
Given the inherent design and manufacturing flaws, I will not be buying a third unit. Just hoping and praying the motor or controls don’t conk out after the warranty period.

Stop Looking! – Stop Looking! Sirius Rangehoods are the one for you. We purchased SIRIUS 900MM Canopy with the external motor and we have not been disappointed with this product. Easy to install the external motor in the roof cavity with the semi rigid ducting and what a difference it made to the noise level in our kitchen. One feature that we do is the 10 minute cool down for the canopy, this extra 10 minutes allows for all cooking smells to be extracted from the kitchen. Please keep in mind, no one regretted buying quality.
