Had the unit around 3.5 years and it has a terrible electrical fault. Not sure if it's the motherboard or the motor. The buttons to select the cycle broke about a year ago from every day use too. SMEG customer service are hopeless. My paperwork says there's a 10-year parts and labour warranty on the motor, however, when I spoke to the incredibly… Read more

rude receptionist, she's saying they'll only cover the cost of the part, if it's the motor. Explained to her that the paperwork with the machine stated labour and parts, but she adamantly stated it was parts only. We've had the unit break down twice in the 2-year warranty period - in which the service repairman had found plastic debris - not from anything we'd put in the dishwasher though (wrong colour and located IN the machine), so it was a dodgey unit from the beginning. Now if we turn the unit back on at the power, it runs without being turned on - plus the awful burning smell coming from it indicating an electrical fault. Tried asking the (did I mention incredibly rude) receptionist at the SMEG service company, but she couldn't provide any guidance on what it might be. Surely, by the sounds of a fault, someone should have some sort of an idea, but service departments don't want to tell you anything over the phone anymore - customer service it awful. A $160 charge is too much especially when they wouldn't cover the cost of that charge if it does turn out to be the motor! Would NEVER buy anything SMEG again! Not just because of the unit, but also because of the TERRIBLE customer service. Our Whirlpool unit never skipped a beat until it died after about 14 years. Boo to SMEG. Would give it a zero if I could.

6 months out of warranty and motor gone. Would not waste your money. No help with trying to get fixed as only 2 year warranty. So much for quality, never again Show details

Smeg dishwasher, worst o have ever used – This dishwasher was included in our new build in 2020. We have had nothing but issues with it from day one. From leaks, replacing both the spray arms several times and numerous error codes. There doesn’t appear to be a problem with the machine, it just decides to have an error. When it does wash it does do a good job. However when this machine is unable to be fixed I will not be getting another Smeg. Show details

the turn around time from reporting to full resolution is atleast 4 weeks and 2 technician appointment. Meaning I'm washing dishes with hands for a large family for atleast 3-4 weeks.

Luckily covered under 5 year warranty, but it would have been a costly affair to keep this dishwasher.

I'm asking for a full replacement of this model with other newer model, but kept on hold on phone for last 30 mins from Smeg with no response.

Brand new and stopped working after 4 washes. (power light comes on but nothing else) Tech has been – On the four times we have been able to use it we were happy with the cleanliness and everything was dry. It ran quietly as well. Easy to use even for an older person like myself who is not immeadiatley comfortable with modern tech stuff. But overall we are quite impressed actually.  Show details ·  1
