While this dishwasher does an excellent job of cleaning and leaves the dishes sparkling when it works, its reliability has been disappointing. repairs were due to a faulty door latch—which is still used in current models—while the other was a draining issue that occurred two years ago and hasn’t recurred.
As a mum of a disabled child, my time is already stretched thin, and I rely on a dishwasher to lighten the load, not add to my stress. I have reached out to Smeg, and while they have been reasonable to deal with, their support hasn’t been particularly helpful. On the other hand, the service agents have been fantastic. With just under 12 months left on my warranty, I’m curious to see what happens next. However, based on my experience, I’m unlikely to invest in a Smeg appliance again.
Wouldn’t recommend – We have had it for 2.5 years and during this time multiple pieces have fallen apart. The first claim was made within first year. Then the spray arm fell apart again. Dangerous dishwasher Smeg – Bought my Smeg Dishwasher just over a year now it worked great until it stopped. I opened the door while it was off and a massive spark between the door and the casing hapened with a massive bang, tripped house curcuit breaker. between the door had worn and shorted which created the massive spark and bang. It also burnt the curcuit board now have to wait 2 weeks. I contacted smeg myself and my message was opened and ignored. I dont want it i dont trust it.

Terrible Dishwasher, do not buy – This dishwasher is only three years old and has already flooded the flooring below twice doing major damage. Recently the inlet valve failed so was required to pay for a costly repair. SMEG is so unreliable. In our building expensive SMEG appliances constantly fail indicating poor quality for expensive appliances. Best to buy a reputable brand such as Bosch I've since learnt. Show details

Happy to report – We had Smeg appliances fitted by a builder as part of a new build. The dishwasher, although not particularly intuitive to operate, has performed well in cleaning the contents. filters are easy to rinse on a weekly basis and any other maintenance in the way of cleaning is easy to carry out.
So pleased – Have had my Smeg dishwasher now for three months, so glad I chose this brand and model. I love the top rack for cutlery and I have found it easy to use.

I was contacted by SMEG, who then offered for a service to be carried out on my dishwasher. The service revealed the internal case seal was leaking and not repairable. AMAZINGLY, SMEG offered a replacement dishwasher. 6 stars on customer service. This dishwasher DWA6315A after a few months of use has been great. I use the ECO setting with a Fairy Platinum tablet for a great wash every time. The only thing is the top cutlery drawer is tight to pull in and out, but if that is all I need to complain about for hopefully many yeas of trouble free operation, I'll be happy. Thank you SMEG for righting your wrong.
